  1. No need for air brake. Just keep the velocity vector in the E bracket using trim and your speed won’t really matter. The leading edge flaps are entirely automatic so don’t worry about them.
  2. R/BL was implemented when the missile was originally, but it was always kind of buggy and useless. With the AG radar it finally works right. So it wasn’t really a new feature that warranted a full video, it was just something that eventually got fixed.

    Target lock

Tdc depress designates that point as a target designation. Undesignate will... we’ll I’d say that’s self explanatory.
  4. Thank you! Tested and I got it to work. Magic Slave seems to work both ways. Wonderful.
  5. You know that tws doesn’t really display a “lock” as such but just target priority numbers. Also, make sure elevation is correct as you may see datalink targets but not see them on own radar.
  6. I imagine nozzles from 82 to 90 or so and pitch down, but probably takes a lot of practice to get it right.
  7. I believe you need to undesignate to slew.
  8. I voted for polishing and completing core avionics. I'd rather get that before we get all sorts of fancy weapons that are only barebones or half implemented. And I'd rather have the tools to fly a mission, create mark points, plan fuel and time on target, and all that stuff, before getting HARMs and GBUs that I can already use on other aircraft.
  9. Great tutorial and I will be subscribing to your channel, looks like you put a lot of effort in.
  10. I believe this is the FCS. At normal flight (not high AoA situations) the FCS tries to keep the aircraft stable and this means it minimizes sideslip. Stomping on the rudders won't make the aircraft slip like crazy because there's just no real reason for a pilot to ever do that and it could lead to departing the aircraft, so the FCS stops it from happening. (again, in normal flight. combat is a different story and the FCS will give lots of rudder authority in that situation)
  11. TLDR of this thread is to make sure you aren't in Game mode.
  12. I guess the designers felt there was no need for a pilot to quickly switch to Nav mode. HOTAS buttons are for quick-select actions. If you want to go from a combat mode back to a nav mode, you're out of combat and have time to reach and click a button. Besides, you don't want the weapon select switches to take you out of air-to-air mode by accident when trying to quickly select a weapon in combat.
  13. Turn off the map. Pilots have said that many turn off the moving map because it makes symbols difficult to read so I believe this is fairly accurate.
  14. How would one force the radar to acquire the Maverick's target? Not aware of a way to do that.
  15. It could be a number of causes. For air-to-air weapons, make sure the weapon is selected via the weapon select switch. Make sure master arm is on. Press the 2nd stage trigger (NOT weapon release button). Hold for a couple seconds. For air-to-ground weapons, master arm on, air-to-ground master mode selected, weapon selected and launch parameters set (fusing, etc) so there is no DUD cue on the hud. Hold down weapon release for a second or two.
  16. Would love to see this, can't say I've ever seen it mentioned by devs though. I'd guess it might see progress after carrier and field ATC comms gets attention first, so maybe a few years away.
  17. Everything you need to bind is found in the hotas category. Weapon release and uncage would be the big ones.
  18. I’ve had very few problems on beta since I started many years ago. Occasionally a big bug hits, but then I just don’t update until it gets fixed. And besides beta gets fixes first as well as new features and modules.
  19. What would you do with it? This feature is in the Harrier (but no other markpoints available yet) and I can't think of any reason I'd want a mark point right where I am. Unless you overfly friendly or enemy units but that puts you in some danger.
  20. I messed around with Mavericks yesterday and never had any issues with them. In fact I've flown the Harrier since release and never had an issue with them the whole time that I can recall. That doesn't mean there can't be a bug out there affecting just certain computers or users though. That being said, nozzles should prevent weapons firing if they aren't at 0, I think there's an interlock. Make sure Mavericks are being employed from proper parameters. <6.5 miles, in keyhole, locked on target, master arm on, rdy state and not still warming up, uncaged, etc.
  21. No, it is fixed at 1500 ft in the Viper as well as the Hornet. You need to drop in the correct parameters for this burst height, which if I recall is something like 2000 or 3000 ft from a 30 degree dive or thereabouts.
  22. You can't do this yet, you'd be looking for offset functions, but they aren't in yet. However for ATC at least, you simply need to fly in the direction they tell you until you see the field or until they contact you again. You can also set a the heading/course knob to the runway heading, and once your TACAN bearing matches the runway heading, turn into the runway for landing.
  23. I center mine because when I zoom in to look at a target I want the hmd to stay in the center of my vision. I have the toggle bound on my throttle so blocking my shkval isn’t a problem for me.

    Unlock on TWS

Never going to happen with correct tactics. Airspace should be sanitized and bandits sorted before any attack takes place. Friendlies shouldn't be in proximity and at same altitude as bandits or you run the risk of AMRAAMs going active on friendlies, so you're not going to launch in that situation anyway. In such a situation with no time to lose, you go into STT lock.
