  1. This seems to be fixed on my system. Played several missions yesterday with no crashes. Crossing my fingers.
  2. Real jets just aren't designed to operate without waypoints, it's never done. It's a shame that multiplayer is built like it is in DCS but these planes need waypoints.
  3. Still waiting on pre-ordering until they can give us a date and full early access feature list. But I'm confident it'll be great and I do plan to get it once that info is out there.
  4. I really didn't see any issues with the way the startup worked in DCS. He only mentioned issues with the training mission.
  5. so far, win8 compatibility mode has fixed this for me as well. Crossing my fingers.
  6. I'd have to know more to know if you're experiencing a bug or not. But it's worth pointing out that these things are unreliable in real life, and the AIM-9X can't pick up heat signatures that far away - it's a close-range missile and the heat signature of the target varies depending on a lot of things.
  7. Cruising is typically done with a best range profile, which is based on AoA, not throttle setting specifically. But it's basically never full mil power. Often something like 0.75 - 0.8 mach at Angels 30 or so but varies by plane.
  8. F-14 is a real beast against all the AI planes, even more than the Hornet. It has the thrust to keep up with the AI's ridiculous energy retention and climb rates, and it can do very well 1 or 2 circle.
  9. Thanks everyone for testing! Looks so far like this is a great change. Much closer to reality. Looking forward to trying it out.
  10. Not sure why I even bother anymore. You start off this thread asking for a feature to be implemented because you claim the real Scorpion helmet has this feature now. Then later you say you aren't asking it to be added, you are just informing people (without evidence) that new features are being tested on this helmet. But tested isn't the same thing as implemented, or used operationally, and it may be on other planes, not the A-10? It's clear you don't know anything at all. ED has far more information than you do, given they work with the actual companies involved. So stop with the nonsense, or put up some sort of corroborating info. Where did you hear any of this? An article? An interview? A video? What? Link it!
  11. Mirage 2000D and the -5 can carry TPOD. I don't believe the C model does.
  12. Modern radar can see through and filter out clouds. They should have no effect on the Hornet's radar systems.
  13. Ok if you have no source there’s really no point in continuing this topic...
  14. What on earth are you talking about? What does the Scorpion helmet have to do with Navy or Marine aircraft (which don't use it)? What is your source for the functionality of the Scorpion helmet?
  15. Yes, not implemented properly yet.
  16. Just saw that! I may purchase it indeed. Will wait to hear positive feedback for this change.
  17. Sabre is one of the last planes I don't yet own and I'm holding off from buying it until this bug is squashed. It's one of the primary historical characteristics of the Sabre.
  18. This is the source of the problem here. The real Hornet has a spring-loaded two-way centering axis on the throttle for radar elevation. I'd really recommend using something like that, or two buttons (or a hat switch), because the Hornet's avionics really aren't designed to be controlled by a non-centering slider axis in this way.
  19. Yaw trim is needed for double ugly type configurations for sure. Sometimes a lot of it.
  20. Could it be a consequence of one of these items? Changelog: Litening Targeting Pod: Moving Target Lock Errors - Fixed Added Yardstick Value for Targeting Pod Adjust autotrack range Adjust Track frame size Designated with offset cursor has wrong elevation value - Fixed Offset cursor should not be available in area track - Fixed Snowplow up/down slew is reversed when tpod is pointing aft. - Fixed Unable to un-designate in MEM mode - Fixed After coming out of area or point track tgp will not slew - Fixed Offset not ground stabilised when TDC depress is used - Fixed Shows wrong azimuth values and inverts controls - Fixed Does not create a designation when in a tracking mode - Fixed FRZ changes exposure of the picture - Fixed Litening: after switch to INR track after offset push FLIR LOS jumping crazily - Fixed Reticle is not flashing during laser firing like LTD/R - Fixed A/A Radar Slave mode doesn't work if you warm-up the TGP while in A/A - Fixed
  21. The Gripen does this, has a rotating AESA radar that can look more than 90 degrees to either side so you can actually maintain a lock (or SA) on targets behind the aircraft by some degrees.
  22. I don't recall this being a function in the F-16 from any other sims I've experienced, no idea about the real jet.
  23. I believe we'll see the Hellcat as the next WW2 module after the Mossie. No hard evidence other than it seems logical and we haven't heard of anything else lately from WW2 so it seems a worthy candidate. Really hope we get a Zero eventually too to fight against it, even just as AI.
  24. +1 I hope they at least do 1 or 2 videos to give a cold and dark startup overview or cockpit orientation. But there will be no shortage of Youtube videos with this content upon release.
  25. Can't wait to preorder shortly before early access release. I'm not in the habit of buying things without an assurance I can get it soon, and that money will do better making interest for 2-3 months than being spent right now on promises later. Gorgeous trailer though and it will be amazing to fly it.
