ED apparently considers the replay track functionality as merely a tool for bug reporting. There is no need to deactivate it, it serves that purpose well usually. Maybe you could fit in even a 5 minute dogfight before it detoriates. I can see why this is finicky. Other games (IL-2, Warthunder) dont have to bother with the rerun of complicated avionics, they can move and sync positions of objects to recorded places easily without any consequences. Notice how BMS doesnt have proper replay system either (their ACMI files work like Tacview).

Hi anyone knows what the red symbol means? Ive gone through the manual, but there is no mention of a HAFU on AA radar with cross in it. It looks similar to TXDSG symbol on SA page, but this is on AA radar page.

So it is correct that TD box is never automatically blanked? This makes automatic blanking useless for me, I'll still have to manually blank with recce every time I want to look at HUD. Whats the logic behind this? -

Thats the problem. Blanking DOESNT WORK for certain elements, such as TD. Yeah, but I have to press recce button 20 times during a dogfight, every time i switch between looking at HUD and looking outside. Its insane. Otherwise I cant quickly tell which TD box is the real one and which one is fake, wasting the precious time in dogfight. I doubt something like this would be tolerated in the real plane. @BIGNEWY is this how its supposed to work? or should i make a new bugreport thread? -

You mean this? The doubled target designation box is maddening in dogfights. Is this a bug or is it really supposed to work this way? -

Only Caucasus and NTTR seem to have voice lines for airports. The bug you describe happens with other maps, IF you play caucasus first, and then the given map. Its the same with Syria for example. -
I randomly noticed this while playing a mission. There is a civilian vehicle on the highway northwest of Furaijah, which travels at comical speeds. This track file contains positioning the camera on the highway so that it can be visible. It takes a bit of time for it to spawn, so be patient. Dont speed up time or youll miss it. need for speed - persian gulf.trk Cut video: x.mp4 It drives like this up and down on the highway, in both directions.

in sounds settings, there are two output devices. one for environmental sounds, another for pilots headset. you have the second one set incorrectly. -

I was arriving with CASE III, had a bolter and turned around for another approach, however incorrectly. Radio menu looked as if I never contacted the carrier (no >> behind carrier name), which is not unexpected since i left the procedure with my errors. However, when within 3/4 mile, I started getting messages from LSO. Cool, I opened the menu to see if I can call the ball again, and instead I saw this As you can see, the name is some internal name and I didnt even have an option to escape it or return to higher level menu. After landing, it transformed into the ordinary "Arrival. Parking" Track is messed up (long), sorry, but I will keep it mind and try to make another one if it happens again.

A tiny cosmetic bug but probably very easy to fix too. The afterburner effect at night abruptly ends with a clear line. Its not visible with low gamma but its definitely noticable with high gamma.

Thanks for replies. Its the official single mission created by ED, CASE II in Persian Gulf map. So i would assume weather is set up accordingly. I tried continuing the procedure without "See you at 10" but afterwards I got no radio communication at all. No ball call option.

I just cant get it to work. I follow the procedure in manual, but I dont get "See you at 10" option when doing CASE II. It just isnt in the menu... Im at correct altitude, im at correct speed, im at correct distance. Still no option to call "See me at 10". Any ideas whats going wrong here? Ive tried it 4 times in a row, it never appears.

only two mods that i created: one changes default countermeasure programs for hornet, one renames display exports for hornet. im using them for years and supercarrier never crashed either, so thats an unlikely cause. i ran (slow) repair after the crash, it didnt find anything. most likely a bug in DCS somewhere that is just very improbable to get triggered. edit: i also use srs -

mirage also has broken behaviour of number of countermeasures when using an external pod (eclair) probably limitation of the game -
a) video above is from singleplayer b) thats not how it works in DCS. ammunitions are NOT controlled by server, each client simulates their trajectory independently and there is no synchronization (so sometimes one client sees a missile go for chaff, while another client sees it continuing towards target). only the shooting client decides if the ammunition hit something or not, simulations on other clients are purely visual. to make it clear - there is no taking over missiles by server in DCS. so this is 100% a bug.

SLAM is separated, teleports forward, then moves very rapidly backwards and then physics take over slam_weird_launch.trk
