I disagree with you on the "no need for voice recognition". I started the Tomcat with day one VAICOM, so I actually don't even know how the Jester wheel looks (besides some little tests). Yes, it has a steep leaning curve, yes, it's an additional buy but also YES, it feels just natural to talk to jester and don't have anything popping up right in your face (vr user). It adds just a ton of immersion, but admittedly, also frustration sometimes and don't solve the problems you mentioned (exept for the wheel, it's gone). Wonder what wonders heatblur could do if they would step down this road. (voice recognition for jester)

Das Problem bei den kleinen Einstellungen ist, meiner Erfahrung nach, folgendes: Die Motoren sind einfach zu träge, um kleinste, dh. langsame, Bewegungen auszuführen. Daher "springen" sie erst bei einem Level x (bei mir so um die 7) an. Stand der Technik oder correct as is wie ED sagen würde. Zu dem NET Framework ...Die Funktion "Starte mit Windows" führt zu Fehlermeldungen. In der neusten Beta scheint das Problem langsam behoben zu sein, ich bekomme zumindest derzeit noch keine Fehlermeldungen. Einfach mal im Tray Tool checken und die Funktion ggf. deaktivieren.

In the Tomcat you are kinda screwed since the Nav system points somewhere die to the magnetic disturbance. Might dial in the heading in DG mode but not sure if it is worth it

Also ich habe es "damals" so gemach, nachdem ich mir VAICOM zugelegt hatte. Das System (ja, win komplett) auf Englisch umgestellt. Neustart ist Pflicht. Danach habe ich die Spracherkennung trainiert, sodass sie auch meine non native Aussprache erkennt. In VAICOM habe ich dann noch das Keywort training gemacht, wenn die Spracherkennung einfach nicht das machen wollte, was ich ihr gesagt habe, habe ich geschaut was sie erkannt hat und dieses Wort dann als alias an das entsprechende Keyword angefügt. Da kommen dann halt irgendwelche Stilblüten wie said takan iks ray something bei raus. Egal, funktioniert. Nachdem ich dieses ein paar mal (Spracherkennung MS) durchgeführt habe, konnte ich das Betriebssystem wieder auf Deutsch umstellen und alles funzt weiter wie gewohnt. War am Anfang eine ziemliche Fummelei, hat sich aber gelohnt. Das Kneeboard ist ein wenig zickig, da stimme ich zu. Da ich aber ein "echtes" Kneeboard auf meinem Bein nutze, ist es mir ziemlich egal. Ist halt bei SP Missions recht nett zu schauen, wo ich beim Case III gleich noch einmal, zu welcher Zeit, sein sollte, ansonsten nutze ich es nicht.

Ich nutze den WH für meine Huey. Ich habe ihn noch gesplittet und links den Throttle und rechts den collective drauf gelegt. Nicht zwangsläufig clever, aber bislang war ich zu faul das zu ändern, denke der throttle wäre auf dem "friction" slider besser aufgehoben

I might, or might not have exaggerated it a bit..... I did fit in a Mirage 2000 and could operate the controls, while I was wondering how my French comrade, which was the pilot of that thing and twice of me, could even pull on the stick. F 16 was also a good fit. That was without equipment, of course. Since THEN I had my back surgery and subsecently gained weight, but the bigger problem would be anyhow more my brain capacity. It was never big enough to remotely become a pilot.... So I settled to do it in the comfort of my home and if I lose, I just hit the reset knob. Nobody gets hurt..... besides my neck maybe, doing the VR. But this is now petty far off topic... Anyhow, back to the VR Body, still not my thing but I will check whats Heatblur is cooking up.

Yeap, PointCTRL. Für mich mittlerweile unentbehrlich, egal ob in meiner analogen Tomcat oder im auf diesem ICP oder wie das Ding heißt, in der F-16 rum zu tippen. Nur mein switch panel macht mir mehr Spaß.

I'm a 5% guy then. Yes, I turn the body on in a plane / module that provides it, but just to get my seating right. Since I can't sit in the real thing and figure out the seating position, I use the body and put my head where the guy would have his, after that I turn it off. For me it is more disturbing to see limps that are not mine, then just to fly as a ghost. I must admit so, the new mixed reality stuff, shown by I guess a Swedish company at the I/ITSEC is a great thing, seeing actually your on limps move and throw switches while the rest is just VR. A couple of years more and we don't need body's any more, because we see our own in the cockpit. That will the day I start to hope for the holodeck before I die.

Versuch es mal mit VRK. (Hier im Forum zu finden) Ich habe so ein billig huion Tablet auf mein Bein "gestrapt", mit verschiedenen Checklisten und Formularen bestückt und male den kompletten Flug darauf rum, wenn ich nicht gerade irgendetwas suche, was mein analoges Hirn wieder vergessen hat. Einziger Nachteil, man kann nicht blind schreiben, sondern muss hinschauen. Dass ich auf meinem rechten Bein im linken kneeboard schreibe, fühlte ich komischerweise sehr schnell total natürlich an. Eigentlich nicht für die Öffentlichkeit bestimmt, aber hier ein kurzer Clip An den OP. Wie Du siehst hört es mit der VR Brille und dem "richtigen" Rechner nicht auf. Es gibt so viel Zubehör (sinnvoll oder -los) welches das fliegen in DCS noch immersiver macht. Ohne die Sitzmatte z.B. fliege ich nicht mehr, sie erweckt das gesehene erst richtig zum Leben. Das für mich wichtige schalten der Schalter übernimmt PointCtrl , meine Selbstgespräche finden treffen bei Jester durch VAICOM auf offene Ohren usw usw....Ein Loch ohne Boden....

You might be laughing, but that statement is not much off for me. I usually fly with pilot body off in VR since a) there is always a body part in the way of an switch or something and b) I never ever, besides a short period of time during my teenage days, had a such a small and lean body. So that's definitely looks very odd to look down and see this thing that was never me. Oh, I admit, all that hard stuff I had once in my prime, got jello-fied and subsequently was sliding a reasonable amount down, to the center of gravity of the planet we are living on,which make for a unsolvable computing error in part of my analog brain as soon as I look down on that sorry 3D representation of an body, while the same time, my local 14 day war reserve storage, prevents me from ripping off the wings of the Tomcat, because of stick travel restrictions. Guess I opt out on the aforementioned program for flight safety reasons. A wingless Tomcat seems to much of an hassle. Hope though, the seat got an extra charge modeled, to get me out of the airframe in case of need. @Heatblur. I hope you observe the, for an old person hard to understand, modern times and make the new body fully customizable. I want to edit my body composition, including the size or even the removal of my men hood, so I can be the unicorn I always wanted to be. Ich bin bei Dir, NUR...es wird schlimmer wenn Du erst einmal DCS in VR hast. Danach nimmst Du Dein ganzes Familiensilber und schmeisst es für immer bessere Hardware aus dem Fenster, nur in der Hoffnung, die recht dürftige DCS VR Performance durch das beste vom Besten auszugleichen. Leider klappt das nicht..... Aber Du versuchst es trotzdem. Davon unbenommen, ich gehe nicht mehr zu 2D zurück, lieber höre ich auf.
