  1. Oh, those are "problems" I can't help you with. I'm in DCS because I can click stuff in the cockpits, which adds an additional layer of immersion for me. That said, I own the FC3 planes but actually I don't fly them, because of this "problem". So I actually don't have a profile for these planes. What I do so, is watching this project: This guy is making the FC3 cockpits clickable, at least for what's possible. Like I said, I love the "deeper" models, so sorry, in this case I can't really help you, but I guee there is a bunch of guys around which fly the FC3's and are happy to provide a profile (I even don't know how to share a profile...went thru all the pain getting them running.....but I use a lot of specialized (aircraft depending) hardware and still building more. Guess 2 more years and I got my TEDAC working
  2. Nah, at least now I have a excuse, like you know Mr. LSO, the IFLOLS is off, so I can't do better
  3. What seems to be the problem? Not exactly young myself, making dcs work is kinda easy, tweaking it...... geez, guess I missed the last 20 years of development in the IT sector. Tried to throw money at it.... nope Sir, doesn't work. But as a guy who started with computer in the early 80s,I'm so happy with my VR stuff in DCS, even so I'm more tweaking than flying
  4. You might want to check it out Subtle but worth it, in my opinion.
  5. I'm b afraid of heights, in the beginning I had problems with DCS in VR because I literally got scared, but hat wore off over time. Today after trying that mod, I got a slight panic attack looking thru the bottom glass in the Huey. So yes, there is something different and better now. Not exaggerated or game'ish but subtle and enhancing. Hope that wears not off. Thanx for the heads up.
  6. Nah, VRK doesn't work in OpenXR which is a bummer. This is basically a new VR kneeboard and not yet (my opinion) at a level of VRK, but it's developing fast.
B weniger Eingangsspannung) was zu machen.
  8. Guess it makes no sense. You are so hooked up to have all the gimmicks you seems to be used too and it seemed that you are a know it all too, a person who knows how stuff work but the simulation (or even the real thing - how dare they construct such a piece of worthless shoot) is not there to please your wisdome. I wonder how all the other people manage to AAR, land on a dime, dance in the sky with the best of them, with an simulation of an airplane which should have never been build in the first place. If you want to vent you frustration, fine, but don't do it on people who try to tell you which mistakes not to make. Here is a whole bunch of people who can do it (I can and I'm not a very good virtual pilot) repetitive.... because they worked their way thrue the valley of tears, listen to other people and mastered it. But hey, you got the green spring and a nice curve and if you had a damn hud you could do it all day long, I understand now and will move away with my <profanity>ty get gut attitude. Have fun......
  9. You better get used to the flight instrument being analog, get your scan going and forget about the HUD, otherwise you won't be happy and should consider a transfer to an electric plane. It is something one have to get used to in the tomcat as well as flying the bird from the moment you apply power for take off till shutdown. If you can't glimpse down for a quick speed check, you won't be happy around the boat or in any flight regime. I'm happy I got jester for calling out speed during BFM, saving me from taking eyes off the bandits, but in all other flight regimes it is instruments, outside, instruments. Not even talking case 3 or something like that, where the head is down in the pit most of the time. So better get rid of the HUD and know where to glimpse for the necessary informations before it is too late and you have to re-learn the hard way.
  10. I usually use rudder trim after Probe extension and before I connect, to keep my feets off the pedals. Anyhow.... Sometimes it is even easyer to nudge the probe in by using just rudder. Oh, one more thing I always do. I don't look at the basket, thus I need another reference. To have a decent view, I always lower my seat before AAR, so I got a good look on my reference point, which is the refueling pod. I keep that thing in the top right corner of the front windshield and everything is good. Edit: Gun Jam did beat me, as I just saw.
  11. There is a secret..... You need to fly with your fingertips only on stick and throttle. I know, it's easier said than done. I remember that I was totally stiff after my first successful AAR in the Tomcat, due to ham fist that thing in. It gets better with training, but I fall back into being totally tense during squad events. The rest of the division, and maybe even that pesky Hornet punks, making fun of you if you can't make it in time, that stupid starboard hose dragged away under your nose, tanker turning as soon as you are close to connect.... all these are adding to the stress, but making the stuff worthwhile. During my training, I found it very relieving to shoot that stupid tanker out of the sky.... and only 3 - 4 Tanker wings later, it worked. So keep on it, it's rewarding in the end. Oh, I believe I won't be able to refuel an A-10 though.
  12. The thing is, you have to look where you point, at least it has to be in the field of view. If you would move your head rapidly, you "finger" would lose focus but small movements are ok. I most often look at the switch (hud brightness in the F-14 for example) , get my finger there and look up to the HUD before I press the button, it works fine, as long as the fcu is in the FOV of the tracker, so switches all the way to the back of one side won't work. Long story short, the cursor is more moved by the " mouse then by the head". As much as I understand, Miles want to get the positioning data from the headset to make the mousepointer more stable, in regards to the head movement, in a future iteration of the firmware. I can wholeheartedly recommend this technical marvel. It brings flying in vr to the next level.
  13. You could get replacement battery's from Miles. I ordered them with my set but until now, I don't need them. If you got the monitoring thingy you could check on capacity (I did wrote down the figures after receiving but don't find the notes) Long story short, order from miles. You just have to take out the pcb, unplug the old one and plug the new one in, done.
  14. Oh, I thought that was kinda my fault, but yeah, same thing here.
  15. Great campaign, love it. I had to admit that I had to laugh a little bit promise to be more serious the next time I fly this. One question though, might it be possible that you stole the idea to this campaign from a not named flight sim forum? I used to fly a campaign for the early Tomcat Modell and think I remember that I read a lot of stuff happen in you new campaign in that forum.
  16. Did, no joy. Even if I reset everything and try (in the profile selection menu) to change to Ah-64 an error occurs. (got the error message not handy at the moment, but I think it was the same thing.) Will start to investigate deeper later today. It's the first time I have problems with SSA, so it might be something I did updating to the current version.
  17. Does this error happen all the time? Might be an issue with you database... Yes, every time, but only with the AH-64, everything else works
  18. I do get an error message in the newest version. As soon as press OK all is working as expected.
  19. Basically, I thought bookmarks here. Yeah, a basic calculator. I use em for like max trap weight calculations, some basic fuel / timing calcs and stuff. Not so good at solving math in my head, so I need to rely on machines to help me That would be great. The lack of a decent kneeboard keeps me from using openXR during squad nights. If you could implement that, it will set you apart and open a can of worms for the MSFS crowd as well. Might get some help from this massive audience. Github is to complicated. I'm a old men who is still used to buy his software in boxes with big books and keyboard overlays What's your discord? Looking forward to more developments of this. Thank you Edit: It seems that I only can end the new version via task manager
  20. I did connect one of my PS4 controllers for CPG work and be quiet happy to use it in VR. Even so that thing has a decent amount of buttons, there sure could be more. Some "real" grips with the buttons in the right place would be best though. But before I go this road, I have to find out if the Apache is a keeper or if it will rot with all the other electric aircrafts in the back of the hangar and I will revert back to my beloved Tomcat (hopefully soon the F4) and a occasional Huey hop.
  21. Damn guys.... that is even making the Apache buttery smooth for me. Looks like the way to go ... if it gets a little more stable. One thing I noticed, the fiddling with the overlay killed the monocle overlay for me. It's there one session, gone the other, could not figure out what's the reason behind it. Guess I will keep on testing. Edit: I believe the "Monocle issue" has something to do with the HMD centering. Sometimes I see the outlines of the Helmet, sometimes I do. With recenter I can change that
  22. Stumbled over this thread and will start to follow. I'm an enthusiastic VRK user, but that bit of software seems to stall and is no longer supported, which is a bummer. The approach of the Open Kneeboard seems reasonable and I hope it will keep developing. Wonder why only the author works on it, from what I understand it was supposed to be a "community" project. I can't be the only one interested in a future proof VR-kneeboard, so I wonder why all those whiz kids not joining in (me, I'm happy to be able to turn a computer on, so no help) After a first try I would like to see: - Positioning of the Kneeboard via Setup (mine was on the floor of the plane...might have something to do with where the hmd is pointing during startup) - Maybe left and right kneeboard like in VRK - No / Little performance impact. VRK has huge problems in MP sessions (have to kill it sometimes and then being lost due to all my pages gone) - Tablett support (huion) - did not check yet, because that would screw with the special drivers I need for VRK - being able to use it without steam-vr , so maybe usable in MSFS - being able to set tabs and stuff to find pages easy - use of an calculator - ...more stuff I will come up with later
  23. Thank you for the guide, I started some tests as well but don't think it's there yet....at least for me. But it is for sure a promising path...
  24. Gave it a first quick test. Picture looks way better than vanilla DCS but I believe I'm buying too many disadvantages with it. Just my list, probably not complete 1. Motion Smoothing is way worth 2. I can't use VRK(neeboard) any more 3. PointCtrl is off, but that might be doable by re-calibrating. 4. All still a little wonkey, even so that's normal with DCS VR, I guess. 5.... We will see. Since that mod is Ovgme'able, I will follow along and see if it goes the right direction. Then for sure I need a new kneeboard solution

    PointCTRL
