I love the dark, grimy appearance, even so I can't make the lineup right. In VR it's just a "black hole" but as soon as you are close, seeing all these fine details...man, I love it.

Nt much into WB currently and if, then I usually a 109 guy, but the Mossie in VR ...... A...fuxing mazing. I really love it and I found me lately just take her out for a spin. So far I would say best in the VR department and that comes from a absolut HB Tomcat lover.

Did not.

Pointctrl - it is as simple as extending a finger and pressing the ICP Button.
-
You normally don't. There is a vaicom wheel. Don't like it very much, so avoiding it if possible.. You can get into it by Jester - pause - options

To many issues for us armchair pilots, or is it messing up the flight model realism?
-
There are a couple of commands broken after the last update. Salute is one, close / open canopy, target size are other that I found. Might a couple more though

But it might be smart to wait for Hollywood. I bet there will be a couple of changes, depending on user feedback. But as you say @Manhorne, it is no fun flying with not talking to jester. Even catched myself talking to him with no AIRIO context, just telling him story's or cussing him out. He is my buddy and I want to talk to him. I'm flying the F-14 for ~2 years without Lantirn, doesn't matter it out takes another couple of weeks / month.
-
Since Hollywood already announced that the new stuff will come after it moved to stable, I can wait. I did the training mission but I really miss talking to my buddy, so I turned AIRIO b back on again.

I don't understand your problem. Are you physically unable to turn your head to look at side panels or is there a technical issue which denies you the all around view one gets in VR?

PSA: F-14 Performance/FM Development Status + Guided Discussion
Lt_Jaeger replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I'm not very concerned if or if not the Tomcat can turn with x g for y minutes at z speed, I'm more interested if the real thing was really that twitching in the pitch department. With the last change there is some new "nervousness" around the pitch axis, which I find hard to anticipate. On the other hand feels the plane far more stable in BFM. I'm No pilot and no aeronautical engineer and English is definitely not my first language, so I find the new behavior hard to describe and just wonder if this is a interim thing or if we are really close t to the final state. -
I don't talk about the vaicom wheel, that works so la la, I talk about the actual jester wheel (the one that comes with the Tomcat). It would be nice if one could both (jester wheel and AIRIO) for the time being until all the new stuff is implemented, but that, as I said, only worked once and was an accident.
-
I would like the jester version as well. Currently calculating myself, it would help my "role play" if I could make GIB work it out. Since I only fly with AIRIO / VAICOM it would feel natural to literally ask jester vor it.
-
That original wheel doesn't work for me, even so it did once but that was a "bug".

Manuevering flaps not working for land based takeoff?

No problem with manual deployment of the maneuver flaps -
In TWS Auto the WCS changes Ant Az and Elev as it see fit. This mode is entered automatically after firing a Aim-54, manual you have to tune the antenna yourself
-
Good thing this time though, usually the civilian SIM and DCS pushing Updates around the same time, which add another 20 GB to it, but it happened already

In the heatblur manual : The upper part contains an electrically driven pointer, one needle deflection equalling a 360° turn in 4 minutes

I'm looking forward to vaicom picking up the game. It just feels so great to just talk to Jester doing things and I hope I will be able to talk him on the Lantirn target as well, even so I would like it more to him picking target by his own and telling me where to drive him. That's the beauty of multiplayer. Suddenly you don't have to manage a 2 seater by yourself since you are having an actual Rio in the back doing all this work while I can have my feets on the dash and zip my ice cold coors light he provided. Long Story short, I never had any Lantirn mods installed, if someone wants me to move some precision mud, he either be buddy lasing or provide me a RIO, simple as that. But now, with my buddy Jester, that might change and I think it will be another marvel heatblur is providing me to enjoy the Tomcat for another couple hundert flight hours.

player pilot-character hand-gestures for multiplayer
Lt_Jaeger replied to D4n's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hand signs are a thing, even have some pages in NAVAIR. Think EMCON, you don't want to tell the bad guys that you are coming. Even if the radio is crypted, it is pretty easy to get position data on the chatting guys. So yes, a great thing, only not sure if I would see this hand signs flying in Vr. So, +1 even so if I most probably will find it kinda strange to initiate hand signs via key presses. -
