I don't know of any way to deactivate a module, if the computer they were activated on doesn't work. Maybe you could open a support ticket?

I wouldn't say so. I replaced my Crosswinds with the Thrustmaster TPRs and like the TM rudders much better than the Crosswinds.

All those buttons, hats and levers on the stick are ill suited for rudder control. If you stay with jets, you can get away with mapping rudder left/right to buttons or use the keyboard, props and helos require analogue rudders though. I did a 1070 -> 2080 upgrade on Monday and for me it rocks. Set MSAA from 2 to 4 and terrain shadows from flat to on. Rock solid 60fps @1440p, that the 1070 couldn't always do with the lower settings.

Yes. Sadly not all modules use the new protection system.

I would postpone a cpu upgrade till ED has finished the conversion to Vulcan and decide then which cpu to get.

To help funding the improvements for DCS World ED could go to a subscription model like iRacing. Want to fly? Pay 10 usd per month and get access to Mac and Caucasus. All other modules a one time payment, but can only be used with an active subscription.
