  1. Thank you for the clarification. Yes, the Blocks are different is what I was getting at.
  2. That would be sort of odd don't you think? The Viper that we have wasn't even in service when the F-4E was around doing its thing.
  3. Those look awesome and I look forward to seeing them! I've just accepted the Forrestal as my deck until we get CV-60. The ones I have are from @Gunslinger22 and are fantastic. I grew up around Oceana during the late 80's and these really take me back!
  4. The original VF-103. Clubleaf 201. Love the old Tomcat days!
  5. Exactly! I'm logging it into the dream category for now...good stuff! Didn't know that and thank you for the info. I look forward to it!
  6. +1. What else would be really cool is if we could damage our probe with the basket, up to and including snapping the probe off, getting the basket stuck on the probe, and the probe door getting bent. I like consequences... Sorry, I got carried away, but I like where this is going. Too bad it's low priority!
  7. USS Forrestal Grey Island and HD markings (digitalcombatsimulator.com) Try this on for size brother. I use it as I fly the "A" and I never have a problem. With this, I can see through the HUD just fine. @LanceCriminal86 was spot on about the RL deck. Some pics should be taken with a grain of salt. The Deck get messed up just after one week of flying! During cruise, if the deck is really worn, and it will be, we have to paint the markings again. We scrub it nightly, which leads it to have an ashy look to it. It is a PITA. But we do it because the deck is so bad. It doesn't take long for it to not look like we just left the shipyard! Also, the deck is painted for photo shoots, like the ones you have, except the last one. IMHO, the problem that we have is a combination of the HUD and the lighting. When I choose good weather, the sight picture is fine. Get a cloud layer or overcast, I see what you see, but not with the repaint. I hope this helps! Nice deck setup!
  8. Not sure if you know this but in the time that it takes ED to add this officially to the game, you could have DL and install it within 5 minutes or less! And you will have flown it and gotten tired of it by the time it ED gets to it. The same goes for livery creation. No offense to anyone but ED has bigger fish to fry sometimes mate!
  9. Spot on. I own the Winwing F/A-18 Super Taurus/Libra setup and it's amazing! The stick extension makes a HUGE difference. IMHO, he should start with the "A" however. If you can master the A, the B isn't a thing at all! Also, I use headphones, if @iqapplehas or can grab a set or good speakers, you can hear and "feel" when the airplane is trucking along as you'd like. HB made sure the airplane "talks" to you, listen to her!
  10. A Vf-114 pack with a CAG and Lo-viz would be lovely. Something about that orange Aardvark! It will be even cooler when the new helmets get released.
  11. It's all good here brother, he was just being proactive and informative. No harm at all! This is a popular topic I see. I think this would be more beneficial than a briefing room (no disrespect intended) as the improper weight can have catastrophic results and this would be ideal for a bit more immersion.
  12. I'm not gonna lie, I've been thinking and hoping the same thing. IMHO, a nice Midway or Enterprise would be nice and fit with the aircraft that we currently have, as well as the A-7, F-4 (whichever navalized version coming) and the A-6 that are in the works. The old carriers are what I'd like to see.
  13. It is kind of wild that people ask for a discount to an already discounted product. 20% off is a great deal!
  14. It's not done that way IRL. It's either Case I, II or III. But there is nothing stopping you from building that in a mission. You have your BRC so all you would need to do is the math to come up with a radial and distance. Push time would be completely up to you. Now that I think of it, you can do it from a quick start mission, just ignore the AI ATC.
  15. Except on the Flight deck of a carrier.
  16. Really loving the nostalgia that the Forrestal/F-14A bring. I'm still toying with placing objects but man, HB is the ish!
  17. Awesome! Once you get the feel for the power on glideslope, it gets better. The B has that great power cushion advantage. I fly the A more and always have to remind myself that I'm in the A. My point: Have fun with those engines with DLC and you'll be flying OK 3's soon enough!
  18. Always keep the throttle moving as well. Turn your speakers up if you can, with the Tomcat (Thank you HB) you can see the airframe vibe a bit when you add power (since we can't feel it). Try to stay ahead of the power curve. I fly the pattern slightly fast (amber doughnut over a red chevron) until out of the approach turn. It helps when I roll out.
  19. Same here. Updraft just as I cross the ramp and an EGIW with the associated cut-pass. Haven't tried the Tomcat yet.
  20. Just a thought. Seeing as whatever free carrier you are using: A. Does not have the Comms nor any of the other functions such as DL, that would make up a proper ACLS Case III recovery. B. No wands at night (coming) I'm failing to see the gripe as you will not have these functions on a "dead" carrier anyway. Sounds like an immersion killer as you would be missing some pretty major pieces bro.
  21. Just trapped and blew my starboard main mount. Waited for repair and got acknowledgement but no action.
  22. I was going to start a new thread, but I found this. I have been away from the Harrier, but I do recall the BRC and other SC Comms being given. Now it's back to the old comms. Anyone know what happened? I think The Tarawa needs some TLC.
