I see your "not even close to nights" and raise you. I have not fired a single shot in anger yet. I'm still trying to get used to her and am feel really good about landing and hovering. I'm using the Winwing Super Taurus setup with a stick extension. Stick extension helps a lot. Did you get the desired result from the 25 curve in your peddles?

I played this game ad nauseam. It truly was fun when it first came out. DCS is leaps and bounds ahead but there are a few things like the physics of it all that this game has, and we are missing.

Never said anything bad to you...that was you! I'm sorry your fingers hurt bro. Think about that the next time you type insults with your fingers, they won't hurt so much! Be easy!

And who exactly "screamed" at you or patronized you? You do not have to be in the Military to have interaction with all types of human beings. No, obviously you are not in the Military. No one here treated you as such. These feelings of yours are exactly that, your feelings! Do not expect everyone to cater to how you may feel at any specific time. This is the internet, we don't know you nor your personal fun meter. We gave you clear and concise viewpoints to; wait for it, "help" you. And if the replies are repeating themselves, that means almost everyone concurs with said practices, not to toy with you! Feel free to get frustrated all you like, we all do! But when you start slinging insults and dumping on those here to help, then you will have very few willing to help you again. As I said before, good luck. Also in addition to AAR, develop some skills in interacting with your other brothers in the forum. We are not your enemy.

That's what I said!

All of the comments are "grown up" comments! Because you simply do not like the answers that you are getting is a personal problem. Everyone here has tried to help you to the best of their knowledge. The fact that you have an issue with the way the HUD is designed for an aircraft fielded in the 70's is baffling! It's almost as if that makes up for the reason that you have difficulty in AAR! And calling everyone "braindead" was uncalled for! It was a true statement that you have to practice! If that's considered "macho" then I guess you've never played sports. For someone that claims to love Top Gun, you sure don't know the platform! Good luck with your endeavors.

Formation flying (which AAR is) does not mean you need to know the speed of the other aircraft. Yes it helps but you need to just join up and keep moving the throttle! In the days before HUDS, that's how it got done. Practice brother, there's no easy out!

Americans? And you know this for a fact?

I concur. I thought it was just me.

Yeah, the first time I put her into a hover, she was all over the place. It just takes time, patience and understanding. Just like my trusty Tomcat!

I haven't fired a single shot since the release because I wanted to get a feel for flying her around...landings and such! I'm starting to believe most of the problems with Force trim come from the user side. Trimming is not that difficult to grasp. Also, Overkills video helped as well!

Now that's a list! Looking forward to them. -
YESSS! That is the biggest thing FOR ME that is missing and killing my CASE III immersion...the lack of wands!

Overkill Simulations just put up a video on Force Trim.

True and true. IRT the "not up to his level of detail" it is kind of a discredit to some of those artists to say that. They do good work as well! VF-84 is only popular because of movies and such using the Skull and Crossbones (maybe Robotech as well)! I was amazed when he selected VF-142 and VF-143. There's a plethora of Tomcat squadron liveries that need some love. It's like the market is flooded with that livery! I was working on a late 90's VF-24 (Rage), but I ran out of time to finish it. I suck at Photoshop so there's that! I look forward to his VF-84. I will no doubt download it, the VF-41 line was awesome. -

His work is fantastic but, don't we have enough Jolly Roger's liveries? The User files are full of them in any form, fictional to whatever decade the artist decided it to be. This is not a knock on anyone. I've downloaded almost all of them (VF-84 and VF-103). But there are a few squadrons that have been ignored and others overdone. The variety and accuracy that @_YaeSakura_ provides is just awesome! -
Partially correct! IRL, no one is allowed to ride the elevators without express permission. There is a very small percentage of birds kept in the hangar and they are all down bad for maintenance. "Up" birds are kept on deck at all times. The aircraft are on deck long before the launch anyway. I'm not sure where the idea comes from about starting and ending in the hangar bay comes from...maybe Top Gun the movie!? After aircraft recover, if they are "up" status, they will be re-armed and refueled as needed. Not too long after that, another crew comes to take the bird up again. Also, when aircraft recover, most aircraft are already parked in those places anyway, so it's not like valet parking out there. Recovering aircraft either go to the Fantail or the bow and the fighter line AKA safe parking line. If an aircraft is down, it will be diagnosed for what maintenance is needed. If it is determined that the bird is down, it will get put into a spot until the next elevator run can be coordinated. Running elevators is a big deal on a ship and involves almost everyone but God. You cannot just run those at will! Sorry to burst anyone's fantasy, just wanted to give a clear picture of the actual evolution that is CV flight operations. I get the want for working elevators as eye popping cool animations and all, but it really is kind of useless! This is what we need...oh well, one can dream!

I just type hyper is all...wired up from the gym! My bad!

The wands as they are called (not glow sticks) are a part of night lighting! Anyone that knows anything about carrier aviation knows this! I'd take the wands over a briefing room. Who am I briefing with? It's nice to have and I wont complain but wands are more of an operational (albeit simulated) thing! We've had to use the taxi light and nav lights at night since the SC was released...which is unrealistic and sort of kills immersion to a point! Night lighting and wands go together like Peanut butter and jelly!

With all due respect, 2 of these photos are from what appears to be Air Shows...please take those with a grain of salt. They are loaded for Mom-and-Pop public! All 3 are very old, I'd say late 80's, early 90's! Being stationed in Misawa, it seems current ops mostly have 2 bags! A lot of the A2A was single centerline but everything else is a CAT III config (Wild Weasel Heaven). The only time I've seen no bags was on the Demo bird!

Yes, he should have clarified, but I didn't demand anything except that if you want to be negative of someone, have a solution and not snarky comments. I can take a hit! But what I will not stand for is a smart ass without cause! Especially when I was trying to help! This is a context issue and I'm dropping it after this. My point being, I tried to help and failed! If the person I responded to wanted to offer help or correct me, that would have been the end of it! If you'd read my response, I'd already apologized to him if I took something the wrong way! Nuff said!
-
Correcting I'm fine with mate! It was the whole "get familiar with abbreviations" part! I looked up the X56 to help out another mate in order to point him in the right direction. You did not! If you meant nothing, then I apologize! But if you did... Next time offer a solution instead of a snarky answer! Then again, that's why I said, "excuse me"! There may be a language barrier!
-
Excuse me? If you have the correct information, then display that! Don't come off as a petulant child bro! The "get familiar with abbreviations" bit you could have left out, brother! I could have been like you and told him to get a new Hotas, but I was attempting to help him, unlike yourself! Thanks for nothing!

So, I went onto the website to make a purchase and I cannot! When I put in my info to the "Add consignee information" part, it will not save! I am registered! Am I doing something wrong?
