  1. It's rated to lift up to 133,000 pounds!
  2. +1 I wonder how many actually served on a carrier and can call it awful? lol
  3. The deck colors change all the time. After new non-skid is laid in the shipyard, the deck looks great. We have to scrub it at sea. It turns a little ashy after that. And on deployment, it just depends on the conditions. I've worked on these flight decks my entire life. This one is fine although a WIP.
  4. IRL, there is no requesting start up or taxi. There is a launch time (starts). Once that happens, if the aircraft doesn't have any problems, the squadron passes it to the yellow shirt and the deck crew breaks it down. There's more but I hope ED works it out. I never use the carrier radio for starting and cat launches.
  5. During most cycles, you will have a mission tanker and a recovery tanker. The AI should already be airborne and waiting for you if need be. That would be nice if the developers wrote in so that the AI will "hawk" you if you are needy or low state.
  6. I hate that he says it when I do a touch and go. Dude the hook is up, bypass is engaged shut up already!
  7. Flare to land on a carrier? Naw!
  8. Hope this helps. Hand signals can be found (NAVAIR 00-80T-113) Hand_signals-Chart3.pdf
  9. If you can formation fly, you can AAR! That's all AAR is technically....
  10. Did you try the Razbam Facebook page? Love to help you, but I gave up that sim long ago. Good Luck!
  11. No worries. It's been said and you guys STILL do an amazing job!
  12. How about this: Let ED govern their own company! All these suggestions on how to run THIER business is funny and sad. These daily post are truly telling. I think ED needs a "Patience Module" for purchase.
  13. It's a tanker. 5 Wet configuration!
  14. I couldn't begin to tell you which ones complete. All I know is, I don't take any of this too seriously as it is just a game and I'm having fun. I was in the Military:), I have patience for days....easy like Sunday morning!
  15. Very well said! I'm sort of new in this community but all of the constant complaining is very off putting. There's more than enough modules to have fun with. I have 10 and enjoy them all including the Viper! Make lemonade!
  16. I too have been contemplating buying the Huey but I'm concerned of it's age. It looks interesting but...is it too old to buy?
  17. During the day on deck lights stay off as well. As a matter of fact they are always off. Lights on, on deck is a signal to the yellow shirts and all on deck that the A/C has a brake/hydraulic failure. At night or bad weather/CASE III, the lights come on as they take tension on the catapult. That is the CASE III signal that the pilot is ready to go (no salut). I'm not sure what the procedure is outside of 5 miles around the boat during the day.
  18. I worked the flight deck for over 20 years. There are many different variables in a CAT launch. The weight, density altitude, the steam or "umpf" used. The deck is pitching etc, etc. I did notice that the Rhino's had more lift than the Legacy Hornets unless they were 5-wet configured and full of fuel. They didn't have as much lift even with a burner shot. It all depends. In DCS, I have to keep from over rotating, specifically during CQ, because I don't want to overshoot 500 feet on the upwind leg before I enter the downwind leg to 600 feet. (I always act as if there's other aircraft in the pattern) :0 Just chiming in....don't kill me lol!
  19. This one would be nice to see.
