Nostalgia for the Old Flanker Heads...
Witchking replied to Shepski's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Yup! I found that clip in an old collection of DVD's. It was something that a pal "Magneto" sent me (Old Flanker 2.5 people will know him and his cockpits). Imagine the day when we can actually enter the aircraft in that way...walk up to it and mount the ladder and enter. haha! There is a fuel truck with pipe connecting it to the aircraft upon refuel...etc. All in the name of immersion eh? ;) Also..lol...teh ground handling in that render is still a target for the current FC3 aircraft. ;) lol....just pulling your leg Matt. ;) I know you will go.... Not again. ;) -
Its internal...not third party....yay...su27 ....wow
-
Flaming cliffs 3? yes! its way shallower than A-10C. BUT IMO...is harder.. I always sucked at air combat...I have no Situational awareness with missiles... Everything shot at me...I go... "where...wheere...when do I evade??..." and then get hit. Also, you have multiple aircraft which are for the most part all unique in their own right..so there is a lot of fun to be had.
-
Yes! My A-10C (bought on steam) and BS2 is also listed as buy even though I have them already. Since our keys are not associated with the DCS account, it shows up as we haven't bought that product. But DCS A-10 and Ka50 are already activated due to the other keys that we have. No problem though...the game works...all aircraft are flyable.

Great improvements on DCS World
Witchking replied to sleepycanuck's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Also..got to mention...amzing a10a cockpit too. Great job ED. I love the new cockpits. Truly amazing work. Few annoying bugs like HUD scaling upon zoom, some AI issues with wingman...but all in all...amazing release. :) I can't even imagine what 1.5 of DCS world will be like. :p ... The rest of the FC3 planes have 6dof cockpits, the terrain is updated... 64 bit only. Things look bright for the future of DCS. :) -
Seriously! The people who are going to buy DCS Huey already bought it... with such a small niche..if they lower the price for preorder, there is no way they can make up the costs involved in development. Such complaining...no one complains when other game companies make sequels at full 60$. Just don't buy it if you can't spend it...thats it.
-
Yup! I had that too...high makes everything correct again. Ultra high will be removed in next update.
-
The new cockpit huds fall on the combiner frame...and it looks too big? I don't recall this from pre 1.2.4. Is this a bug? zoom in and it looks fine Also got this problem when set scenes to ultra high ..
-
I think its better to get more settings for gfx...like water rendering, shaders, scenes etc. Just because the word "ULTRA" is used in fps/arcade games doesn't mean its exclusive for them. For instance, an ULTRA option for water with that amazing looking water from 1.2.0 would be sweet. And ofcourse, leave the current setting of high as is for those whose rigs are not future proofed.

man! The new pits are so wicked. Now the Mig29, Su33 and Su25T are so lacking... I can't even bear to touch them without the 6dof pits anymore. I guess I'll be learning the vanilla toad a lot more until those other jets get updated.

Get ready for new particle effects in 1.2.4
Witchking replied to B25Mitch's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Beautiful cockpit. wow!! But that landing model at the end...sooo terrible. Jerk and stick to the ground. Man! The next big thing would be to give all aircraft atleast a semi-AFM. Improve the ground handling. -

If you guys notice...the fire when the aircraft explodes/goes down is more similar to these ship and land vehicle fires. No more cylindrical/bitmap fires. :D yay! Looking promising. -
Impressive PhysX demo - Real Time Fluid Physics
Witchking replied to Mustang's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Now that in DCS ...and landing on a kuznetsov in that rough weather...man...fun. :D -
RIP Jim. Thanks for being integral in the development of this amazing simulator series.

pass on WW2 for me...not my cup of tea...bring on DCS Flanker. :p

Next DCS (Russian) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Witchking replied to Milene's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Man...i can't wait to see a dcs flanker. I am willing to preorder it even if it is 3 yrs down the road and even at double the current price of a module. It will be amazing to get a realistic feel of how my favorite bird actually flies. -
what are you doing to kill time for UH-1H huey and patch 1.2.4 release
Witchking replied to hannibal's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I guess nothing This week either. Damn. Dissappointing. Well...back to god of war ascension. -

Witchking replied to hannibal's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I must say, It is getting a little disappointing waiting week after week. But its still hard to not come here atleast 4 or 5 times a day to check for an announcement..."1.2.4 and UH-1 released". -
Based on the change log, I am assuming AFM for A-10A is not included in this update?

For a moment I was fantasising if that is how DCS world with EDGE looked along with DCS F-18C. :p -
There is no super ultra AFM. Its basically AFM but it probably isn't at the level as the A-10C. Simple aspect that the Su25 and 25T were the first aircraft by ED to fly based on physics rather than canned animations. However, I think the P51, A-10c, black shark and now huey have more variables and more systems modelled which makes it more realistic and more accurate compared to the dated early AFM model on the Su25T. Yet...its still leagues ahead of the SFM aircraft like Su27, 33, F15 and the migs.

The effect for cbu 97 is awesome. I hope we won't loose, that. I think the cbu 87 explosion FX are the problem. They cause the fps drop for me...not so much as the 97s. Overall...i guess its the smoke FX which is behind the fps issues. Perhaps a new shader optimization and re written effects can be the actual solution rather than just mending an unoptimized FX system.
