  1. In mission 1 at Company HQ when they load the helicopter - I can't take off without either hitting trees or destroying the engine. Does anyone have tips?
  2. By that do you mean flipping the mirrors in the respective aircraft so that they aren't visible? Or enforcing it globally somehow?
  3. Yeah, if the thread creator hasn't figured it out in the last year and a half hopefully your post will help!
  4. Yes, that's what I would do. Good luck! Note that all installed applications may not react gracefully to simply being copied from one drive to another. But a search on these forums results in previous successful user experiences doing this for DCS at least. If it's just DCS that you're copying, you should be ok. Just remember that a repair using the Eagle Dynamics DCS repair function may not hurt once you're done, especially if there are issues afterwards.
  5. It looks like you have four SATA ports, on the bottom right of the mobo (see attached image, items 8 and 9). Just plug the new one in, copy the contents, then remove the old one. Once you remove the old one, ensure that your current drives are in the faster two SATA ports (labeled SATA6, items 9 in the image). Then you can rename the new drive if it gets assigned anything other than D.
  6. Don't worry about the drive letters. Those can be easily changed. The first step is just to get the new drive connected to your PC (which may require a SATA to USB adapter if there are no free slots). Then copy the contents. Then remove the old drive.
  7. If that means that you have two slots, and they are both taken already, then you can get a SATA to USB adapter for like $10 so that you can temporarily have three plugged in at once.
  8. You can leave the existing drive, plug in the new one, copy the contents, then remove the old drive. Then just assign the old drive letter to the new one. Edit - I don't think I've done this myself on a drive that had an actual application installed on it. Web searches give me mixed opinions on whether the application itself will work correctly. Maybe you'll need to do a repair on DCS when it's done. At least trying this method out is non-destructive and you can always revert to the old drive as long as you do t uninstall anything.
  9. Shot in the dark, but do you happen to have water injection bound to something and you're hitting it inadvertently? Also take a look at the turbocharger rpm when this happens to see if it is involved. It can have a 'multiplying' effect on engine rpm.
  10. Do you deploy countermeasures when you see the launch? I was shot down by it the first time (when it caught me by surprise) but the second time I was able to evade it. Maybe try a practice mission where there are MANPADs that you can practice avoiding them. They aren't very maneuverable.
  11. Maybe this answers your question? https://youtu.be/yL19358Xdx4
  12. It's a new option in the menu now when you hit Escape
  13. That's crazy. I would have done it for just $13 billion.
  14. Yeah, helicopters are tough to radar lock. Not sure how realistic that is. But you can still get sidewinders to IR lock them. Or as mentioned above just shoot them with guns.
  15. They are guides available for each of the released aircraft. There's not going to be one for a module that is not out yet.
  16. For which module? Chuck's Guides have a recommended binding for the respective aircraft near the beginning of each guide.
  17. I'm at this mission and haven't started yet - the briefing says to use the bombs in PP mode. But wouldn't it be easier to create waypoints for each of the targets so that I can see them in the ATFLIR, the pickle one at a time while changing waypoints between each? It seems that I can designate a target with a waypoint which will slave both the pod and bomb to that specific waypoint, but if I program into the bomb in PP mode, I can't go the other way in order to verify that I'm dropping it on the right target.
  18. What do you mean by glitching?
  19. Those are smoke bombs. You don't employ them in the mission though as Psycho does that part. Also, I had a cluster bomb on center station as well as one wing station opposite of the smoke bombs. You likely dropped the center one during your run.
  20. It has nothing to do with the resolution. It is the fact that the reflections are a part of the texture of the cockpit and not actual reflections. It is as if a reverse copy of the cockpit interior is painted directly on the glass. This effect does not represent the real behavior of glass reflections, and as was mentioned earlier, is instantly recognizable by the human brain as "fake" when in VR.
  21. Typically you can find the appropriate .miz file and copy it into the Saved Games/DCS/Missions folder and select it in the Missions menu in DCS.
  22. Yeah, that's the thing. I tried exactly this and nothing happened. I'll try the other methods (a/g mode, rack selected instead) and test later when I'm able.
  23. This isn't working for me. I try to jettison the center tank in the Raven One campaign, but with Master Arm on, Center selected, and Stores on the Jettison button, nothing happens. Only Emergency Jettison works. But wouldn't this be bad if I have missiles that I don't want to jettison?
  24. Ooh a new desktop background for my PC, thanks!
