I think maybe you're being a bit optimistic with this... this movie is a nostalgia money generator. Tom Cruise does not bring young people to the theaters - it's not exactly 1986 now. Plus the media landscape is much more fractured than it was at that time. You need a huge multi-genre vehicle like Harry Potter or Hunger Games with young stars to generate enough enthusiasm to make any impact outside of the actual movie after the credits. This is likely to do well in the box office, maybe lead to a sequel, but then I think it's going to be forgotten in a couple years.

Wowee. Is that this one: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3316348/

Issues from latest Open Beta

I think you can roll back to a previous version with the Skatezilla utility. I've used the utility but don't think I've tried this before though. -
I'll add to the advice provided by the above posters: 1) if you would like to fly a jet from an aircraft carrier, then I'd suggest the Hornet and Super carrier over the AH-64 2) if you would like to fly a helicopter, then I believe the AH-64 provides more of a helicopter experience than the Hornet and Super carrier Let me know if this helps, I will be willing to address follow up questions.

Pilots enter info via keypads when they fly all the time. It's not like driving where something is going to suddenly appear in front of you.
-
They really should find a way to make cost-effective advertisements for it. "Fly the most realistic and faithful recreation of the Hornet ever released to the public!" Heck, it's even free to try for a couple weeks, right?

I mean... The AI is better at BVR tactics now, correct? It seems that comes at the cost of them being able to fly to waypoints. Do you expect to have your cake and eat it too? -
Firstly, I'm a big fan of each of you. I am not even sure I'd want to calculate how many hours of entertainment you are collectively responsible for in my life. Do you still have time to enjoy DCS or other sims on your own after all the time it takes writing, creating, testing, and supporting your campaigns? Or are you tired of being in the sim after a day of campaign creation or a day of (what seems like a nightmare to me) responding to all of our complaints on the forums?

Question running Reverb G2 in DCS
unlikely_spider replied to XAiracobraX's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It will not be possible to get 90 fps. You will likely be tweaking settings to get 45 so that motion smoothing will net you the 90fps for the headset. Don't go into VR with good fps along with the highest settings fresh in your mind from your flat screen days. It's still worth it in my opinion. -
Can't you just do Skip Mission in the menu?

MFG Crosswind Pedal - New Firmware and Software

Cool. This makes me think - how does this compare to the resolution of the axes at the software level of any of the sims we play? -
Ooh, I hope that guy responds. It would be horrible if things ended up escalating. Hoping for a nice easy campaign where all parties are compliant with international law, misunderstandings are discussed with calm diplomacy, and nobody gets hurt or has to resort to the use of deadly weapons!

Do a dcs repair? -
Why would they want the v1 cable and not the new one?

Check your XMP's folks...

But yes, I agree with the OP and this is good advice overall. Things like BIOS updates or failed boots can reset your settings and make your ram clock at far below advertised speeds. It's very easy now to look at memory speed now - you can do it in the task manager! Or use something like CPU-z to get more detailed info. -

Well, if overclocking your ram is stressing your PSU, then you've got greater problems. A couple sticks of RAM only draws a few watts, overclocked or not. -
Another note just to make sure you're getting all potential performance with your hardware - make sure that your ram is actually running at that speed. With some mobo's you have to apply a profile to get those speeds and by default it runs much slower. In an AMD system it can make a bit of difference.

AMD 5800X3D, the new King for flight simulators?
unlikely_spider replied to maxsin72's topic in Virtual Reality
Yeah, it seems that the days of relying on a simple number to compare processors are over! It's harder-to-quantify modifications in architecture that will yield improvements going forward. My local Micro Center has a few of these at the moment. I'm on the fence. I've got a 5600x at the moment. I wonder what I can get for it on Craigslist. -
Well now there's something for my bucket list.

I think the fact that you necro'd a thread from a half-decade ago wishing for this perfectly exemplifies the likelyhood of getting this in the near term. We have maps, sure, but none of the airframes required.

If only there was a checklist DDI page or similar in the Hornet to remind us of landing or takeoff items!
