Yeah, make sure to look for the appropriate term in your language. For example, the German word for "ball" is: Ball

There is some texture mod in the user files section that is pretty good, I think.

My understanding has been that settings in NCP don't affect the VR image?

Man, a big sweet spot sounds, well, sweet. But this is the headset that is almost $2k US, right? And with no built-in audio or controllers? (So added cost to current WMR users who need to buy base-station+controllers?)

Can I ask where I find this part?

Is the F14 still in Early Access state?
unlikely_spider replied to ab_magno's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
If you are asking in order to decide whether or not to buy, then just buy it! You won't be missing anything - it's on sale now, and it's one of the best modules in DCS regardless of the EA status. Hit the buy button, purchase the Fear the Bones campaign, and lower your aviator sunglasses so that they mirror the sunrise in the Top Gun intro scene that you've just downloaded and applied to the DCS menu screen, and you will have no regrets. I promise. -
That would be cool. I don't need more resolution, but I'd like better lenses, build quality, and fov. (I guess all I'm asking for is the holy grail of HMDs. Is that too much?)

I've actually considered buying a second one just to provide spare parts for mine

Raven One briefing package
unlikely_spider replied to baltic_dragon's topic in F/A-18C Raven One Campaign
I'm getting into the Hornet just so that I can play this campaign (and the upcoming one). But looking at the tutorial videos, it seems there are 20,000 different weapons that the Hornet can deploy (approximately), and even a couple of different targeting pods. Is there a list of weapon types, (or at least which targeting pod) I should study before getting into this campaign, or would that be too spoilery? Also it's your fault since your campaigns get me to buy and learn modules that I wouldn't have otherwise been interested in -
Very pertinent suggestion. I remember that in 1944 a squadron of flight instructors successfully thwarted the attempted invasion of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base outside of Tucson, Arizona by jettisoning their canopies into the rotors of dozens of Nazi helicopters. The team is known as being quite the resourceful bunch, seeing how the TF-51 lacked any kind of conventional armament.

Mission/campaign creators- a request
unlikely_spider replied to CBStu's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Yes, agreed. Especially for us VR players who can't easily tab to another application to read the info. Among other things, this is one thing that I can count on in campaigns by Baltic Dragon and Reflected. Maybe others, but it's good to know the level of quality in a campaign that I'm buying, and the kneeboards are one indicator. -
So, what you're saying is 100% certainty. Got it!

In the video, you say "this should come in the December OB update, but I can't 100% guarantee". That said, can you 100% guarantee that it will be in the December OB update?

Hornet AI crashing into ground after merge every time

Congrats on your maneuver kills -
Is this for Mission 8? I'm watching this thread too because I'm almost there in this campaign.

FPS drop when looking ahead in VR

Is it the mirror by chance? Try changing the cockpit display resolution function in the settings. -
Oculus Rift with DCS World Discussion
unlikely_spider replied to NineLine's topic in Virtual Reality
Mine isn't Oculus, but some settings that have a big impact on stuttering on my PC which is very similar to yours are shadows, AA, SSAO, and the resolution of cockpit displays. Try turning those down or off to see if they impact your experience. -
Looking for Rudder Pedal Recommendations
unlikely_spider replied to 1Wolf's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'll likely be the first of many people here to recommend the MFGs, which are mechanically very nice. The default is the whole-foot pedals, like bf109 pedals, but my understanding is that there are other foot rests available for them where that's not the case, like P-51 pedals where your heel is on the floor. Edit- yes, on their website now you can select which type of foot rest you want from the get go, which is more than were available when I got mine. These are lifetime pedals, likely to last you forever and are very customizable. -
Roadmap of Reflected Simulations for 2021
unlikely_spider replied to YoYo's topic in Reflected Simulations
Lol, that guy had to perform some tree trimming with the rotors Not sure how the physics engine can cope with that. Crazy book though -
"Reinstall Windows" is a horrible solution... Actually, maybe I'll use that as my go-to answer when someone at work complains about any software that I support

Trying to understand the refresh rates of VR headsets
unlikely_spider replied to Youda's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes, that's what I do as well. It still uses SteamVR.
