Hello. When I start flying (in VR only), after flying for about 15 seconds, the game will freeze for a second, after which audio will quit working in the headset. When I alt-tab back to Windows on the monitor, I can click on the speaker icon in the task bar and see that audio is still being redirected to the headset, but there will be no sound still from DCS.

He's got one coming out in weeks for the Super Carrier, right? That hasn't been out long. I just assumed that the dev partners like him get earlier access to early builds for that purpose.

Is this where I select the different presets? What happens then - do I start DCS with a given preset, then change the settings as needed, then it will save just for that preset?

Are any campaigns confirmed for this new map? If so, I will buy it. I don't really care for the dynamic campaign engines - I'm more interested in campaigns like the Reflected DLC campaigns.

This behavior seems to be fixed in the open beta, at least in other missions. I haven't tested this specific one.

Hello. Can someone point me to where I can have separate image quality settings that DCS launches with depending on if I'm in VR or using my monitor? Not sure if that's possible, and didn't immediately find anything using a quick search here.

I moved to OB because the campaigns were (and still are?) broken on Stable. Don't pretend like everything works there either.

I was finally able to complete it using many of the tactics explained above, however I found the wingman to be more helpful than many other people here, for some reason. Yes, he got shot down a lot, but at least after telling him to go after air defenses, he helped by getting rid of one or two emplacements before dying. In this specific mission, I had to lead him into the valley before making the order, or else he wouldn't see them.

Is this change in effective range reflected in when the double-circle appears in the HUD?

Huh. I thought it was my imagination when I played one of the instant action missions that comes with the free Extra 540 mod, which takes place when the sun is low (not sure if it is morning or evening), and I thought the lighting looked unlike anything I've seen before in DCS. It really did look great. I'm not sure if it's related, or what was actually changed.

Thanks - I'm pretty sure. It's one of the three switches above the ILS freq panel, right? I put all three to M during startup, and the dial to "square". I was reading up on the L-39s - they only have heat-seeking missiles correct? What's the best way to counter those? I have two radar-guided missiles as well as heat-seeking ones, so should I avoid close maneuvers with them?

How do I approach the dogfight, outnumbered 2-1? I am getting shot down. I also tried to make a mission in the editor, with two L-39s on a different side than me, but in the resulting mission they don't engage and just keep flying straight. I need to practice in a quick mission because flying for an hour before the fight starts each time isn't a good way to get better. Also, when I'm shot down, I get no warning at all, and thus can't release countermeasures. Am I not supposed to get an audio warning? It's not a good feeling to just explode immediately without knowing I was even fired upon. I'm new at the mission editor obviously but if it's too much to troubleshoot why mine won't engage, if someone can upload a mission with a Mirage vs two L-39s with air-to-air capabilities, that would be amazing. I've got all maps except for the new Channel one. Edit - a nice user sent me his mission that allows me to dogfight L-39s on demand.

Often in campaigns I see radio frequencies listed as "Element", which is often a different frequency than "Main" or "Mission". What is Element?
