I'm single-player only - are there confirmed campaigns for the new map? Otherwise it's not worth the expenditure for me. But if there are any good campaigns for it, 100% chance I will purchase it.

I just played mission 9, which includes a vehicle on the taxiway, and the AI pilot behaved beautifully behind him. I'm on the latest OB.

Oh, yes, the vertical FoV is a thing. That explains why I had to ratchet up the pitch axis curve in the TrackIR software vs the other axes.

Is it though? With the restricted FoV? The FoV on my ultrawide monitor better replicates what a real pilot would see vs any of the mainstream scuba goggles VR headsets. As is the ability to see my own hands. We each have pros/cons when it comes to replicating realism.

Oh, I have to have all of the disadvantages too? Well never mind then! But I still prefer TrackIR in DCS. We're all just simulating in different ways anyway. I don't walk around real life feeling like I'm wearing a scuba mask all day.

In real life, if you could look behind you while driving by only turning your head a few degrees... And if you could zoom in 10x to see something far away... You wouldn't want that? Of course you would. Also I'm single-player only, and am not competitive.

Same as you. I have a headset, and use it for things like Half Life, but I much prefer TrackIR for flight sims.

Confirmation that the AI taxi issue is fixed wholesale before I upgrade? I see that note under the F-5 campaign, but does it fix all other campaigns?

Baltic Dragon is a victim of his own success - his campaigns are so good that people can't get enough of them. I'm also eagerly awaiting the Harrier campaign, but am in the Mirage at the moment. Anyone who hasn't done that yet, and has the M-2000c, should. It is so good, as expected. The bad thing is that it's hard to go back to the other sim because of how cinematic the campaigns here are, like all of Baltic Dragon's.

Mission 4 - on the radios I can hear myself talking but not the flight we're supposed to join on WP3? Any ideas? I've tuned to channel 3 on both red and green. Edit again - just played again and it works fine - I had to be on Green 3 and Red 1. I was confused by the "training" tag that the Red channel 3 had in the briefing.

Not in campaigns or missions. Aren't those all still broken because of AI taxiing?

Depends on what you mean by "budget", but CH Products sticks are a good mix of price and functionality. Light touch for helicopters, and good button layout that matches many modern fighters.

The D2M light under the RWR display is always blinking for me. In the manual it says: "When blinking, indicates that the system is powered but not ready for operation (warm-up)." I have the switch for that in M mode, along with the other countermeasures switches. Is this missile launch detector feature functional? I've completed three missions in the campaign, and it's always blinking throughout, so it's not just during warm-up after startup procedures.

Agreed. I'm still on an older release of OB (before SC) precisely because of this.

I just started for the first time three days ago, because I knew it was coming up in the Mirage campaign, and after practicing an hour per day for three days, I'm 1000x better than I was when I started. It's not impossible by any means. Unless of course you have a physical barrier like Falby above (sorry to hear Falby). But if not, just try a training mission a few times. It will get you better at formation flying and everything else probably too. And it will make sure you are comfortable with your curves if you have any set up.

I thought the G-sync was supposed to prevent tearing.

You've got an Nvidia card - you can limit your FPS via Nvidia Control Panel. For FPSs I like V-Sync, but in flight sims I dislike the input lag that it introduces in TrackIR, and thus run with it off.

So I just used the awesome Skate Zilla updater utility to roll back to 2.5.6.47404, and I get comms in mission 1 as soon as I connect ground power, battery, and radios on. I haven't tested further than that though. (I'm new to the utility and am amazed how easy that makes it to switch between versions)
