1. The pre order is only today? the tag line on the thread title says it is only available today, I cannot therefore pre-order tomorrow or any other time up to early access?
2. Alicatt

I am excited

A case of premature purchase?
3. Like the Mig-21 and the English Electric Lightning, both look fairly similar from the front, while the Mig had a variable intake cone, the Lightning had a fixed one and the intake cone on the Lightning was one of it's limitations in its max speed due to the shock wave not slowing down the air at the right point and over heating the cone due to air friction, which was what ultimately limited the speed of the aircraft.
4. The document linked to in the post by @Karon is a proposal ie. seaking permission to do tests for a hypersonic missile components. IT IS NOT A TEST RESULT
5. That's a proposal for a future test series, it is not an actual physical test, there are no actual figures in that document from a test that NASA has done, it is using figures plucked from public sources, are those figures overstating or understating the performance of the missile for propaganda purposes?
6. I'm waiting for the removable CFT before I put my money down seeing as the F-15E is now flying without them in the UK and Poland
7. The sound is quite loud to the ears from the F-16s coming in to land at KB airbase, but you can hardly hear it if you try recording the sound, I know I've tried!
8. Yeah we used slightly defocused IR lasers for object illumination at distances of 1.5km and over for use with specialised CCTV with very big lenses, just spreading the beam enough to illuminate the field of view of the camera lens combination, on those installations we used concrete towers rather than metal poles and it was the lens that was mounted rather than the camera which was hung off the back of the lens
9. IR and UV are at different ends of the spectrum and sandwiched between them is the visible spectrum, UV lasers are usually used where you want to cut or burn the target as they are quite energetic.
10. Me want Chinook too, then I've got something to transport my car around
11. Alicatt

Release Date?

I'd even take it without the CFTs if that would make it quicker ... Vrolijk nieuwjaar voor iedereen
12. Wow looking good there. PS. Did the wings stay on when you pulled out of that dive?
13. Thats brining it close to home There are quite a few airfields and grass strips to the south of Eindhoven just over the border in Belgium with Kleine Brogel bring one of them
14. What balance? Overwhelming firepower and tactics is what is desired against your foe, there is no intrinsic balance in combat/warfare. Is it unfair that the Spitfire is not balanced with the F-16, they should be on the same level playing field? If you want balance, then use the same aircraft with the same loadout.
15. Dooo Ittt! It's what I did when I built this PC, put in 64GB from the start, DCS runs smooth on any map
16. My grandson started playing DCS when he was 3, his favourite aircraft at that time was the BAE Hawk, he is now 12. I'm 66 and not the oldest on here
17. That would be King and country back then Lizzie's daddy was in the highchair at the time. Once you find out what they do with the whisk and the wet celery let us all know...
18. And that the Atlantik Wall and it's support is not just in France but extended through Belgium and Holland too
19. Another big installation that is missing is the Aachen Batterie and associated WW1 emplacements that were incorporated into the Atlantik Wall - Stp Tirpitz at Raversyde just west of Oostende Belgium. Almost forgot they also had an airfield there which is now Oostende International airport
During the Second World War, the Luftwaffe moved the airfield of Ostend-Stene to a site in the territory of the municipality of Middelkerke, five kilometres southwest of Ostend. It played a major role in the air battle with Britain.[citation needed] After the war, the airport of Raversijde-Middelkerke was turned into an international airport by the Department of Airways which had been established by that time.
Ostend–Bruges International Airport - Wikipedia German bunkers in France part of the Atlantikwall
20. I ken the pesky Scots lad that lead the Muricans on their assault on Whitehaven... John, a distant relation sailed from Whitehaven to the US, changed his name then organised a navy, sailed to France and then returned to Whitehaven to settle some debts. He also had a skirmish with a RN ship off of the east coast of England, later he sailed for the Russian Navy and after that the French Navy, he took ill in Paris and passed away in 1792 where the pesky French soaked him in alcohol and stuffed him in a lead coffin, his final voyage was in 1906 on USS Brooklyn when his body was returned to the US.
21. It was something I had not noticed on the F-16's of KB airbase until a couple of months ago, quite a distinctive sound, and usually as they pass overhead my house. This weekend they were host to the F-35A demo team What. A. Noisy. Aircraft. Oh I am not looking forward to KeeBee getting the F-35, taking off and low speed cruising they are quite quiet but once accelerating man they make some noise far, far, louder than the F-16 on full Burner and the noise is quite distinctive with a whistling whine added to the roar
