  1. 150% of tech, logistical etc facilities? Me thinks you over estimate their capabilities, that means that the other bases must have a negative percentage of technical, logistics etc. Why would a F-15E crew train with an aircraft that is not in the configuration that they will be using it to fight? Has something changed in the wider EU in the year 2022 with no more F-15C being made maybe the F-15E sans CFT is being pressed into service to fulfil a role that has just came up within the past few months. Why is the second crew member redundant, will he not be using what sensors are on the aircraft plus his Mk 1 eyeball to help in situation awareness. Training in an aircraft that does not match what you will be fighting in will lead you to make errors in over and underestimating responses of the aircraft.
  2. Our local airbase in Belgium routinely fly patrols over the Baltic with their F-16 aircraft, so that's another DCS aircraft that would be in the right location
  3. Don't forget that the Danube waterway exits into the Black Sea on it's western coast. The sunken WW2 German fleet is now above the water on it's retreat from the Black Sea.
  4. I did read that the 50,000ft CARA was not a low observable item in that the radar could be intercepted by others
  5. Think the F-16 goes up to 30,000ft in the latest version, it does vary between blocks and upgrades.
  6. Some yes other parts no. Bad eyesight was why I was rejected as a pilot in the RAF. It really does put me off flying the F-14, I really do feel I was sold a pig in a poke.
  7. Thanks, now I have to explain this to my wife
  8. The second jet made the noise we hear here it's very short in length Edit: personally I said to my wife I thought it was bleed air, but I'll have a search for the CENC Thanks for all the replies.
  9. The aircraft in the video is turning base to finals, we are about 3 to 3.5 miles from the runway here. My wife first pointed it out about a month ago and I thought it was a neighbour doing something. but I have heard it often now and always at that same point id is just a Veeep sort of like someone blowing a short note on a kazoo, we heard about 20 of them this afternoon and they all had it.
  10. Hmmm can't hear it on that either, I can hear it on the original video on my phone grr Utube!
  11. This year we have heard a distinctive whistle from the F-16s coming in to land, not heard it in previous years and my wife has commented on hearing it to as it is unusual, anyone know what it is? these are Belgian F-16s.
  12. As a Gatling gun only fires one barrel at a time from the one position on it's rotation then each of the barrels would have to have a slight offset from each other to create dispersion, whether they are all parallel or all have the same amount of "squeeze" they will still be shooting in the same place relative to the other barrels.
  13. Win 11, Track IR clip pro 5.4.2 drivers, 2080s 516.59 drivers and all ok
  14. Arrgh! run out of disk space! update requires 85GB free and there is only 65GB free on my SSD, time for an upgrade!
  15. After being burned by the crappy pit in the F-14 I'll wait and see
  16. At school my geography books classed Caithness, Orkney Islands and Shetland as Artic Tundra. The hills and moors were bare up until comparatively recently when Fountain Forestry started planting wide swathes of pine trees over Caithness in the 1980s. Trees had not grown on those wind swept hillsides for about 5,000 years. Trees would grow vertical up until they came out the shadow of the wall and then grow sideways with the wind, trees out of the towns look like an upside down "L" and don't get very big. Living there and flying out of Wick Airport, the Falkland Islands in the SA map feels very familiar.
  17. The Falkland Islands look real to me on my monitor and reminds me of the colours and textures that I used to fly over in Caithness and Orkney. Not explored too far away from there yet so cannot comment on the rest of the map yet. My monitor is calibrated as are my TVs and my cinema, good visuals and sounds are important to me
  18. It seemed so far away... Meanwhile the F5 is getting a hammering on the store page...
  19. Ya'all know that Tomorrow never comes?

  21. Mine is 329GB at the moment for the actual game, plus a couple of folders with mods and such to be swapped in and out when needed.
  22. 500GB for the DCS drive, but it also has a map and resources I have been working on for a few years for a well known tank simulator. I don't have all the modules, and really only use the Open Beta, I have 2 1TB NVME Samsung 970 EVO drives, one for the system and some productivity software, the other holds my Steam folder and that is all, the DCS is on a 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD, and another Samsung 850 EVO 500GB for a large space game, and a flight simulator for my drone.
  23. On a similar theme, we have Nightwish's tribute to Gene Shoemaker And With Professor Dawkins: The Greatest Show on Earth
