  1. Once DCS goes Vulkan, would those APIs still apply?
  2. Fantastic mods! That's exactly the non-over-the-top realism DCS needs in the FX department. Thanks for this.
  3. My 1080ti is also chucking along nicely in DCS... no issues. But, I am planning on upgrading my PC (motherboard, RAM, CPU, CPU cooler, NVME drive, and video card) towards the end of the year, and I really don't want to go with a GPU that has the same amount of VRAM my current one has...
  4. I was under the impression that new NVIDIA cards would ship with 20GB VRAM? Or was that just a rumor?
  5. I would like more teases like these - pretty please.
  6. @Bourrinopathe - that video is really impressive. Would love to see that level of "cloudificiton" in DCS as well.
  7. @Cowboy10uk
  8. First, thanks ED for adding this nice little escort mission to the Syria map in today's patch (Aug 26, 2020). Taking off from Bassel Al-Assad International Airport - aka the Russian Khmeimim airbase - and escorting four Su-25s to attack insurgent camps in Aleppo is exactly the kind of recent historical mission I expect to see more of for the Syria map. That said, I cannot wait for more missions and campaigns for both Russia and NATO to be created for Syria. However, and this is now painfully clear to me - the lack of flyable, modern full fidelity Russian fighters and attack aircraft modules is now more obvious than ever; it seems as if the Syria map screams for those kind of DCS modules to happen. For now, the Ka-50 (my stand-in for any real-life mimic Ka-52 missions we might see), and the upcoming Mi-24 Hind fit the low level bill nicely, but man, I never felt the urge to hop into an updated, clickable, full ASM'ed out 25, 29 or 27 cockpit more than now. ... and this is all because of the awesome Syria map. Thanks.
  9. What I did: I moved the module slider to the off position (from green to gray), and then clicked on the trash bin on the right to uninstall. Since then, I only get a reminder that I could install the terrain again, but it doesn't do so automatically.
  10. +1
  11. In DCS Settings, you should try and select the VR preset and see if that gets you better performance as a starting point. You can then increase settings to see how far you can push the game details vs VR performance. Starting out with VR is always a balancing act between the look you're used to on a monitor vs acceptable performance.
  12. You have a point. DCS is also a lot more complex than said simulation, so it's the lower hanging fruit for sure for some 3rd party devs to disappear to...
  13. I guess that's more about detailed map design of a structure that's there where it should be - not an easter egg.
  14. Nothing wrong with tweaking settings to make a new, highly detailed map run a little smoother, OP. :)
  15. @S.E.Bulba: Thank you for all the interesting insights!
  16. Yes, kudos to Ugra Media who developed the map.
  17.
  18. Werde bei meinem naechsten PC upgrade auch groessere SSDs verbauen. "Software sells Hardware" - war ja schon immer so.
  19. @Maestro, just wondering why houses here are placed on these small roads? Looks still work in progress as those buildings look randomly placed, or part of some autogen placement?
  20. @Eldur: you mean the new sim that almost sounds like Bright Stipulator? I haven't tried, but I heard VR should come towards the end of the year (prolly after it's been optimized more for X-Box).
  21. I am glad that I got out from under that early on... Facebook account... yikes.
  22. And then, there's this (from Wags' recent Ka-50 Syria video): Perfect for these guys: :D
  23. Looks as if Ugra Media already has tweaked the bridge I used as an example in the first post somewhat: New (see here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4455529&postcount=147): Old: Credit where credit is due - awesome job!
