Its great, this MFD was the first panel I ever made before the Cougars came out. I took apart a keyboard and used its control board to make some USB inputs, built a MDF Panel to fit around a 15" monitor and made my first MFD in a decent size! Actually thinking about doing something similar but a little more refined on my latest F/A-18C inspired pit, I want a much bigger digital map than a cougar.

Not sure you need to worry about all that, there are not that many inputs/outputs if you only want the physical switches and buttons that matter.

Hi, can anyone help or confirm they are/i am insane? I program my Hotas and MFD directly into DCS and create a profile.lua Just now, spent 20 minutes setting up a SP mission in editor...all my profiles are reset. They are saved inside the DCS folder but not in any dedicated folder, should I be saving them in a completely different folder or do user created missions not read personal settings? 2 times i reprogrammed the Hotas Joystick and MFDs (for some reason the Hotas Throttle seems to retain settings). Arrrrrrrrrge :joystick::joystick::joystick:

They are awesome Lynx - are they 3D printed and laser cut? That is some lovely work.

I use one in mine, tip, i use the paddle switch on the stick as a multiplier, program the usb keyboard commands you want to use with a multiplier. This is my A-10 UFC - to use it I just hold the paddle switch and press the keys.

Thank you for that, I will have a play around tomorrow, glad its 3 separate switches, I thought perhaps the push was required to activate the directions.

I went with the GGG type controllers and have 2 knocking around but not sure if they support these. I also bought some Arduino as I have a couple of LED switches for Master Warning and Fire so think this is the way to go? Thanks for the reply.

Just been flying the first mission and beat it on the 6th time on easy, great mission thanks will play the next in the campaign tomorrow. Please keep up the good work. Love the voice overs, scripts and immersion, recommend anyone flying the Hornet who wants a CAS missions(s), will update when I finish the campaign but Im a mud mover!! Btw I cannot tell the wingman to do anything so he is just (lucky for me) a missile decoy :-) is this correct?

Aim 9s you need to uncage it when you get the tone. Uncage is also a binding.

Hello, I bought these off ebay and was hoping someone could advise me on how to wire them up and hopefully if I can use DCS Bios. Thats great to see inside them, the amount of work to design and built such accurate mechanical instruments is fantastic to see. Thank you and great work converting them to electrical, can you imagine the designers and manufacturers would never comprehend how their gauges would end up!!

Hi Bonz, it happens quite a lot when you are setting up multi monitors. Delete Options.Lua and restart DCS, it will create a new options lua as default. C:/username/Saved Games\DCS\Config\Options.lua You may be able to edit it but I just delete it.

I have a Corsair LED wireless, great set. Word of advice, don't go anywhere near Logitech in my experience. Edit: just read above, don't go anywhere near Logitech <$100!

Just set it up as a left monitor and sit it on the right, that's all I do. Takes a little getting used to but no biggie. Afaik, you can do it you start you mainview at x=1920 y=0 but from memory you need a phantom monitor fix. In the early days of A-10 I had an MFD on the right and one on the left on the main view but there were issues with the gui stretching over 3 screens. If you play around and it stuffs up you GUI you have to delete a file in Mygames folder to reset it, search on here and there is a reply to resetting menu or gui or something.

Is anyone able to assist in translating this to a simple instruction for those of us not software minded?

You have to press DMS (not DMS down) to lock. So whatever you are using to slew the designator, it has a 5th action to lock, pressed.

The issue with this approach is that it assumes you move your head and not your eyeballs to change what you focus on? Surely you could have 4K screens that only render where you look in 4K?

You have to get out and push.

So can we confirm from ED that it is a WIP issue and that it has been logged for some future update/development work so I can move on?!

Just an update on this, I had the "lock" mapped to my first trigger stage, I think it "unlocked" when firing the missiles, so far I have killed 2 unarmed SU-25 which is 2 more than ever before! However, the Radar doesnt pick the bogeys up until 5NM and my shoot is at about 3NM so not in the realms of BVR unless you have a back seat guide dog. Will work on that next...

Hi, I have Hotas button 2 mapped to weapon release and trigger stage to to gun, but button 2 doesnt do anything, all missiles and guns are fired by the trigger second stage?! FWIW it the Hotas Warthog and the keybindings work fine in Warthog, button 2 is the 'pickle' and stage 2 is the gun. Anyone else get this in F/A-18?
