  1. Hello, I made a Track Clip Pro last weekend, works a charm as far as Track IR5 picks up all three IRs clearly, but the problem is, the program will not match my head movement, its all over the place! I have done it in a vertical configuration, tried it horizontal, tried to alter the axis but it is haywire despite the 3 IR being perfect. Now thinking of making it like the reflective clip in a triangle. Can anyone suggest / explain why its not head tracking?
  2. That is gorgeous! Are you on Aus RK? It looks familiar.
  3. Awesome, I love these hidden cockpits, very cool! Nice work mate!!
  4. You sir are a fine engineer, that is some lovely work. You are not in Australia by any chance looking for an adopted son/brother?
  5. Whatever loadout the mission selects, if I ramp start its not so much of an issue except if a roll creeps in. I was able to trim the A-10C much easier than the Harrier to the point I could pretty much take my hand off the stick, that said, I have never flown a real plane. Perhaps the Autopilot (is there one?) will make it much easier.
  6. I am the same, i cant help think that the 1.x stream and 2.x stream put in unnecessary burden on developers having to update both, my hope with this merge was that outside of 2.x beta when it is stable, the only updates required would be to fix problems in beta releases of their aircraft/weapons/ships and not having to fix problems with upgrades caused by DCS World maturity. Then our third parties can focus entirely on their product in a stable environment. If DCS World doesnt get it right in full release and there is a continuous upgrade to the base then I would be disappointed on behalf of third parties. That said, I could see the need to perhaps do a DCS 3 if sub warfare or more destructive environments were needed and to keep pace with technology, but I would support that being a closed branch to prevent the hostility gathered by not supporting multiple branches. Again, only my opinion.
  7. Hi, Was conscious of not taking the breaking up thread off topic but is the trim function final or temporary? I find missions start out with a poorly trimmed aircraft, usually in a nose dive. Correcting it using only nose up causes it to roll slightly. Also, the trim is super sensitive, like i tap it left to stop it rolling right and it rolls left. Is it possible that it is too sensitive? I understand when a missile/bomb is dropped or you have an unbalanced load out, it would just be nicer to have a larger dead spot.
  8. I noticed that any hard G breaks the aircraft up, dive bombing especially, I assumed it was accurate representation?! What gets me is how much trim is needed, whilst I like an accurate representation in a sim, I think this is one quirk of the Harrier that could be dummed down, it starts in a dive, trim it back up and then it starts to turn a bit...it almost impossible to trim it to straight and true.
  9. Why?? Personally I dont want them touching 1.X anything now, any issues/bugs etc should be in 2.X and IMO the last stable version of 1.X is the last. All effort into DCS 2!!
  10. Hi, In one of the missions, the task is to bomb a warehouse. How do I know what the target looks like? When I do fly in, the ground erupts in AAA - how do I reccy the target area to familiarize myself with the target area? How do I do all this from the relative safety of 20,000ft? I am sure its combat 1.1 but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  11. what is simple is this.... DCS World download section has a file called DCS update to 2.5 all versions and when you click on it it takes all versions to 2.5 beta What isnt simple is DCS World Download section with 1.5 and 2.1 alpha and just a news release when you search 2.5.0 updater. It couldn't have been any more difficult.
  12. Do you mean driving stepper motors for dials?
  13. i just struggle to understand some people, they moan about DCS, they moan about Aircraft pricing, moan about module pricing, moan about community add ons... I don't think discussion should be stifled but we should be able to give Oxygen Theif tags serial complainers.
  14. Mine is shoite! Not bad looking about the forward cockpit but down in the cockpit and anything at 3 or 10 o'clock on the shoulder is garbage, I really hate it but it is better than not having it. Perhaps I just need to make curves steeper. Personally cannot wait to replace it with VR when it's got better resolution.
  15. How do rotaries work in touchscreen? Im thinking of getting one of those 4 wire touchscreen to put over a Helios UFC on Harrier and F-18C - Im just about given up on trying to build my own!
  16. You got a picture of your rig, 3 x touchscreens sounds awesome
  17. I can imagine trades people at your house love working there if this is how you treat a free product. Here is a tip, if you want it so bad, why dont you learn German?
  18. Disco '80's version! Is there a small toy in the yellow knobs?
  19. Hi didnt want to start another thread, what is the optimum "extension" length for the Warthog, I have seen (I think) huey pits with the extension from the floor to the seat, but it seems 10cm is the standard off the shelf extension? I seem to be forever over compensating on the AV-8B with lots of small inputs and think it may be because an extension is in order. (points for those who are childmen like myself who snigger at extensions and over compensating).
  20. Interesting, have you thought about what you will use for your UFC displays (i.e. The 12? Segment t displays)?
  21. Second Deadman, I don't think you had 0 skill, it's very nice!
  22. A lot of people, me included love the flir, laser, moving map and all those things that come with modern era aircraft. Like the A-10C and AV8B this is the area that I, and a lot of simmers want and will pay for. I also imagine that modelling these systems will allow a greater number of other aircraft which use similar systems, so in that case it will open doors for third parties to use the models, such as the F-16, Tornado, perhaps one day the EFA, Rafale and a number of others. IMO, the Tomcat and Phantom, as mentioned by AndrewW can already be built on the current systems, hence the Mirage 2000 and other 3rd parties. Whilst I dont know anything about ED's decision and I know you asked them specifically, WW2 is pretty much now open season to third parties as is 3rd Gen/ Tomcat/ Phantom hence the 3rd parties are free to fill their boots depending on financial demand. This is why I think the F-18C is a great choice for ED, in short: Popular aircraft - large user base. Sim multiplier opening simulated systems to 3rd parties and DCS. Brings in other elements such as naval (I know Phantom does for carriers but F/A-18c has anti ship) and more modern conflicts. Will be the most accurate simulation of a modern aircraft- hence Flagship.
  23. Nice, I like.
  24. Keep it up Schredder, like hsb said, it's a good idea, and from a small seed big trees grow! People don't visit these forums all the time, I think some of what you posted will be interesting to me, like a matrix break out that can turn a nano into a 64+ input device. But, you may need to speak in simple language, as hsb said, those that can understand can do it themselves! Keep posting mate, you will generate people's interest, maybe in the input section above this sub forum, I don't know how many input users visit the pit builders section!
  25. Lovely stuff, real nice, HUD is awesome.
