They're pretty fun, thanks! Glad I didn't have to go into the mission editor yet to enjoy the new map. On the Dissimilar with the two F-16s, I shot down the first one and the second one ran out of fuel and crashed as I was lining up on his six, for some reason my HUD and VDI were all messed up showing a 30-40 degree bank to port while my backup indicator indicated I was level. Didn't see any faults or anything and was able to ignore it and land at Incirilik without any issues. If you're going to be under thood, I would prefer sidewinders, if not bags could be added for the Case I mission and maybe half fuel instead of full? Could you consider mixing up the squadrons/livery? Is it possible to mix up the squadrons? Would love to see VF-103 or VF-32 low viz liveries Not sure if it's F-14 specific but RAM usage seemed pretty high. On the Supercarrier Case I (which is my favorite so far, just love the look of the water and land), I was using 27GB. I was using about 21GB in the Dissimilar F-16 and 26GB with the F-15 BFM over Tiberias

Running request - Bindable Button / Axis options
Uxi replied to maverickturner's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hydraulic Transfer Pump really need a binding for Open Cover and Forward/Off and a separate for Close Cover / On. Doesn't appear to be any bindings for Emergency Flight Hydraulics switch? Given that it's a weird off-on-on possible to do something like an incrementing Open Cover to Middle/Low to Forward/High and opposite ending with closed? Would like to use a momentary on/off/on.... Probably be best for me individually to bind the cover opening to the first switch (Mid/Low) and the closing to the off since I'll have my own cover on there to protect from presses. Not even sure these are functionally working yet or useful, though I do use them on the startup procedures. Edit: actually thinking with momentary on-off-on might be best to have switch cover toggles open and closed for each and then toggle Emergency Flight Hydraulics from Aft to Middle and then Forward. Similarly, Hydraulic Transfer Pump up would start aft and toggle to fwd and back. That way opening and closing a real switch cover engaging & disengaging the bottom "on" opens and closes the virtual cover and then flicking the switch up toggles the state. Hmmm but is it possible for the lua to know to turn it off when the function toggle turned off? -
Appears to be very memory hungry. I was at 27GB of RAM usage with Syria and the F-14B and Supercarrier. EDIT: 21GB without Supercarrier (Instant action: Dissimilar - I tried to use guns but had to use a sidewinder to take one down and as I was going after the other F-16, it ran out of fuel and crashed before I could use my guns on it). Something weird happened with that one where my HUD and VDI were off about 30 degrees though my backup gauge showed level. I ignored it and landed at Incirlik. EDIT2: 26GB on the Instant Action F-15 duel. Landed at Haifa without issues.

Usually maps are 50% off on the seasonal sales, hmm. Who am I kidding, gonna get it now I guess.

Not yet. As long as it's here by Friday, I'll be happy.

A little OVGME Mod to remove the Star Wars refuelling comments

Sounds like you need to get better at refueling. ;) -

Yes, both of these, especially the steer mode. -

HSD selected heading would be very nice. One of the only things I'll still have to use the mouse for on either startup, takeoff, or carrier trap when my button box is finished. Analog for HSD brightness would be nice, too. -
Hasn't happened to me in months, probably since Supercarrier. I might have try some more touch and goes and relaunches after trapping since the last patch.

Sometimes anyway. When it's not political (lol just about every procurement). Seems the spin issues were more due to the analog FLCS not solved until the DFCS and incorporated only in the F-14D. IIRC DACA book cited 30% of lost aircraft due to the TF-30. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/quick-look-nasa-f-14-tomcat-testbeds/ I've read the TF-30 were much more maintenance heavy, as well though that might have been due to age. We can all probably agree the fleet would have been far better off if the full 1987 procurement of 100 new build F-14D and 427 rebuild F-14D® had been completed with F110s...

Great vids. Loved the SHB. I'm always tend to be oo high. Always get on the boat but never that smooth even when I get a _OK_ or OK. Gonna watch these quite a bit.

True that, though everything else runs perfect and pricey is WRT upgrading for DCS alone. Whenever I build a rig I always plan on at least one refresh with upgraded RAM and GPU and usually look to get at least 2 to 3 years. I got two upgrades with my last x58 build... I deliberately chose 2070 over 2080 because I know I’ll be going to ampere sooner or later

That placement and asymmetry on the pilot MFD bugs. Curious that they just didn't replace the HSD and VDI.

Exactly! A bit more fuel, supercruise engines and improved supersonic performance. Regain the weapon station since the LANTIRN and nav FLIR are on the Phoenix pallets, Full glass cockpit (MFDs), Modern AMRAAM, JSOW, JDAM already in the game... otherwise the F-14D. I still suspect there's a slight chance HB could deliver the F-14D. I'd happily pay for it, but if they won't the Mod Community could probably do it.. and once that's done, Most of the existing assets are already there. Some tweaks to the exterior interior models and custom livery.

Definitely could use these...

I wonder... maybe a mod team will step up and do F-14D... and/or ST21! Though it was my undergrad, I know enough coding to be dangerous... Worth looking into anyway. I'd happily buy F-14D from HB, though really hope F-14B(U) is a silent free upgrade to differentiate from F-14A if/when it drops.

Sure, don't begrudge that. The number seems so small in light of todays procurements that both should be doable and WRT this thread, AMRAAM loadouts on the Tomcat shouldn't exactly strain plausibility anymore than Zuni rockets. I find myself hoping for an ST21 mod one of these days with the LANTIRN and nav FLIR built into the Phoenix fairings... AMRAAM replacing Sparrow...

Would the 12 way rotary toggle from Leo Bodnar work? Not sure if the pull mechanism would be necessary or not... http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=98_100&products_id=207

AMRAAM would and SHOULD have made it anyway... just needed the funding that was diverted to LANTIRN...

Looks like the ACM panel worked in 52196 but the Illumination and Console wheels still had the same thing. Didn't see it in the notes either. Did it not make it in?
-
Ah to again lament ST21 which would have had JHMCS making it even simpler still. ;)

This is a bug and should be fixed next update per Iron Mike. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=278743
