1. I guess the point of the OP is in its more broad sense, why is not everything detected shared in L16? As far as i know for example AWACS shares enemy fighters but not an enemy TALD or cruise missile that you can perfectly detect on your radar (i mean in DCS). Why would a EWR or AWACS know what the radar contact is? A radar track is a radar track. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
2. Specially on older airframes (pre 4th generation) HUD tapes of Dogfights and gun sights show how: 1-Hud refresh rate is not as perfect as we have, this is specially evident in thing like Altitude and speed updates (sometimes is precise up to 10knots not units) but also in changes in HUD symbology (refresh rate). 2-TD boxes and gun reticles are not perfectly precise, and many times a bit jumpy, showing how the radar is trying to keep up with Target quick changes at close distances. 3-Even at very close ranges the radar is prone to loose lock for some seconds. It'd be nice to see this represented in some way on new modules. To illustrate my point i leave some youtube links: https://youtu.be/4SpHGNCzFpQ?si=y_YQOdcMh3cuV9cy Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

3. You are failing to understand what range means for a missile. I guess you are new to the modern air combat/bvr world. To put it as simple as possible, a weapon stated range is meaningless without the accompanying launch conditions and even enemy airplane speed and altitude. A missile hitting an enemy plane at 50 NM at high altitude and high closing speed will struggle to hit a cold enemy plane at sea level at 6/7 nm. That is how much aspect, altitude and speed is relevant to saying a missile has X nm range. Wikipedia stated range are normally optimal conditions, so consider >30k altitude >M1.2 shot on a coaltitude bandit coming hot at you at roughly the same speed. You apply those rules and you have a 50NM missile already in game. Ive managed a 60nm kill against an unware player in the GS server with the current Aim120C. 4. I agree it needs some tweaking, but its not as bad as it was before at least thats the way i see it. Tune down a bit how far you see the squares and work a bit om the transition to LoD and you're good. Its never gonna be the same as RL. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
5. Any news from the team @BIGNEWY? Not being able to take your head off the target even for a second (i mean after uncaging and getting a good tone on the bandit) its really a bummer.
6. i cant since uncaging is not showing the Maverick IR Feed. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
7. Hello, Having some problems to use the AGM65F in MP after a cold start, is everything working fine? 1-A2G mode 2-Master arm on 3-Selecting Agm65 via weapons panel or store page (agm 65 is boxed om store page) 4-Double press sss depress to make sure tpod is not SOI 5-Uncage button but step 4 is not showing the AGM65 ir feed even after waiting several minutes for the spool up time. Am i missing something like a relevant switch during the cold start process? Ill try post a track, but is working perfectly fine in SP. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
8. My quoted response does not answer OP question because it was clearly answered in the post following the quoted response. I'm merely pointing that the person saying STT single target track did not read the OP question. As you clearly explain is possible to launch several Fox 1 on the same tracked target which WAS the OP question. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

11. What is not yet clear to me is if the real radar shows the ghost bricks from the range ambiguity, you'd think the MC would somehow extrapolate which is the correct or average position of the bricks in each sweep and only show one of them. If anybody have some footage of an APG73 in operation... Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
12. What keeps me away from the Atflir is 2 things, with first one being more relevant: 1-Cannot take 2 amraams putting it in the centerline station. 2-Actually Spanish hornets use the litening (Hint: im Spanish :) ) Regards, Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
13. I think there is room for everyone. I am one of those that move buttons to my HOTAS while still a great defender of both FF and FC3. My thought process is the following: I like FF because it implies replicating the way a system or weapon works, with its full process of clicks and Hotas presses, and normally also with its real limitations, however i also understand the fact that what for a real pilot would be a MFD press or click actuation in a blonk of a second, probably by feel and not taking the hand of the joystick, for us implies taking the hand off, reaching out the mouse and clicking in a very unnatural way. For my specific case i play with VR only, this means its even harder to find a mouse by feel and click whatever button i need to press. I cannot tell you how many times i forgot i was not on the cockpit and tried for a split of a second tp reach out that button i need with my left hand XD, only to realize i cant. Finally i have little time these days, being a father, so if i really have only 20min and fancy flying in a MP server for some fun, i do like having that FC3 option not including a 8 min INS alignment with all the other procedures like boresighting mavericks etc.. 14. Its inverted compared to the F18 and Av8b, i wonder why they did that, is strange o_o Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
15. It is fixed until you designate again, then it jumps to the next location. I do normally a lot of designation or just use the JHMCS, much easier. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
16. This is working really strange since some months for the hornet. I can reproduce all of the above behavior. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
17. Same behavior related to the HAD happened to me some minutes ago. After SAM disappeared from the HAD the cursor dissapeared also. TMS down make the cursor reappear but not possible to TMS up anything after that on the HAD. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
18. Sorry no, all misiles in dcs, for sure all fox 3 suffer from similar problems. So if you stop playing because you think US fox 3 are worse than they should, the reds are not in a better spot. All misiles use now the ED missile API with its same limitations and strength equally shared. As far as i know kinematics changes between misiles as well as the CCMs factor (CMS resistance) but they all use the "same radar" and proportional navigation logic so to speak, so barrel rolls and jamming gremlins will be the same for all. 19. Rafale it is a sexy plane, my god....
20. A sun visor for sunny days is a must. It is really hard to see any JHMCS/HUD symbology on a sunny day. Either we have a visor or a way to tweak the contrast/colour of the JHMCS/HUD a bit more.
21. I dont see anything wrong in that clip, it seems the missile was already low on energy; or rather the bandit was very high on speed, and the barrel roll depleted that energy even further. For me that is not a good example of a game/missile problem, different case would have been some head on barrel rolls that completely confuse the missile or do not trigger the fuze, when the missile still had plenty of energy to deal with the target.
22. Where can i find the tutorial/documentation? A quick search in DCS open beta DOC folder yesterday was no success for me (maybe i went too quick) Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
23. i do love DCS as it is, but a patch is always nice, testing new functionality, weapon, FM, you name it ... its always exciting. So hell yeah patch day!
24. But this does not show other mode 4 responses, only the one on the L&S. Also as far as i've seen, it only provides IFF when there is track created, so trying to IFF a "brick" gives you nothing. It takes so much more time than an IFF in an F16/F15E, showing you all responses in front of you... Happy to hear the STT behavior is being looked at.
25. Amazing, HB should be remaking all radar in DCS XD... On a more serious note, the simulation is mind blowing, let's see how everything integrates with the Simulated world around the F4, and that is for ED to help. Imagine how sad it would be if you were managing all the limitations and nuances of a radar system like the F4 MPQ120, while a Mig21/F1 either AI or a player could shot you down even in a look down situation because... well the simulation of their radars is just not there.
