  1. I'm guessing here, but does the sync state only work with switches that are configured in the 'special for joystick' style? Using standard pulsed inputs, it's not possible for DCS to know which state a switch is in.
  2. In terms of tempering expectations, I don't think there's a cat in hell's chance of it being responsible for a 50-100% increase in frame rates. I'd guess 5-10% would be more realistic, if that. As for CPU dependence, that's supposedly one of the key benefits of DX12/Vulkan over previous APIs. However one thing I understand about both technologies is that they're lower level than DX11 and maximising efficiency requires more work on the part of developers.
  3. These benchmarks seem rather misleading. The improvements only apply to a specific part of the rendering process, and the tests are setup to stress that. If rendering a frame is like your weekly supermarket shop, 'mesh shaders' could simply make the checkout process eight times faster. Doesnt have any effect on how long it takes to drive there, park, get all your stuff in the trolley and drive home. Obviously a pretty abstract comparison, but illustrates the point. Might not be as game changing as the articles suggest.
  4. You can also copy and paste images straight into the reply box. That will automatically add them as attachments.
  5. Have you posted images in that way since the forum was changed? Doesn't look like it supports BBCode now. You'll need to use the 'image' button in the toolbar and paste a direct link to the image. The 5MB limit only applies to attachments, it doesn't affect linked images.
  6. Have you tried manually selecting the axes rather than just moving the stick?
  7. That's the video I figured you were referring to. It's most definitely a 60 degree bank. Even that is less than usual because Wags acknowledges that his style is more relaxed, only reaching a maximum of 2.3g. Following 'g equal to 1% of airspeed' results in ~70 deg in order to maintain 800' AGL. That can be seen in Jabbers' video at about 10:30...

    INS Alignment

Hadn't noticed that. Will keep any eye out, thanks.
  9. Was there supposed to be a link?

Doesn't the 'OK' in the centre of the HSI indicate when it's completed?

Time acceleration. But yeah, as suggested above look into the stored alignment function. There was some detailed info on the recent-ish INS updates if you do a search. Edit: It's actually stored heading. Thread I was remembering is here.
  12. It does really look like you've got something bound to 'Wing Fold Control Handle - CW/Right'. That's the only obvious explanation for it moving straight back. Can you double-check that in the control options? Might need to scroll right to show all attached devices.

    That's just daft.
  14. Agree with this. That's definitely not standard DCS ATC, so must be something specific to that campaign's missions.

Surely that's just a graphical restriction and doesn't affect whether other units or devices can see it?

A laser can't illuminate a point in space, that's physically impossible.
  17. Happy enough here with a G2 and 3080. Honestly can't remember DCS ever crashing. The menu weirdness is annoying, but it's never made me feel ill.
  18. A 30 degree bank in the break?
  19. Check the FPAS page on the DDI for optimum altitudes for both range and endurance.
  20. My guess would be that those two big canards make any comparisons pretty irrelevant.
  21. The problem was asking for this as an option is that you can't use an absolute axis to control multiple sensors in the way that the Hornet is designed, everything will get out of sync. For example if you were to use an absolute axis to change the radar elevation and then switch to the targeting pod, what happens with the zoom level when it doesn't match the axis position?
  22. I'd not used mine for years before FS2020 was released with no VR support. Quite enjoyed the nostalgia, and definitely has advantages over VR when using a second monitor or tablet. Not to mention performance, although that's less of an issue in DCS. Personally I hated any deadzone and got rid of them completely. To me it always felt much more natural for every head movement to be conveyed on-screen.
