  1. Awesome! More than adequate for my purposes. Thanks!
  2. SWAPR is fiddly... But it does work on the latest 2.7.7 build. My previously saved missions using SWAPR work fine.
  3. Depending on what you have plugged into your machine you can flood the MB/s capabilities of the USB bus you are plugged into. Anything web cam I always try to stick on its own, dedicated USB port/hub. Maybe that is what people are butting up against... saturated USB bus/controller.
  4. I've always been confused by the comments about TrackIR de-sync - never encountered it - I think? I don't have vsync/g-sync/freesync enabled. Monitor is a Benq PD3200U (4ms - if that even matters - not so sure). When on TV (lately) I use an older LG UH6100 (43").
  5. 3070, lots of high settings, but no antis turned on except anisotropic. 32" screen. Works well enough for my purposes. I'd say ~65 fps +/- 10 or so depending. I can buzz Dover and the castle at low level without feeling any real fps pain. Might dip to high 40s occasionally over the town but it doesn't stay there.
  6. There is a skin in the user files section that is very close - BAU. The yellow on the spinner and the tiger are missing is all IIRC.

    Coastal Command

Has anyone seen a livery for the B-17 like this? Might allow some more dynamisism for mission creation on Normandy and The Channel.
  8. Maybe some one with skills could create this livery for the K4? Could be useful when the Marinas WW2 map releases. At a distance could be convincing enough on the K4? Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien
  9. @crazyeddieDownload GIMP - it's free and it works well. https://gimp.org If you want to continue to mess with it...
  10. Great Stuff! This really looks interesting. I never had much interest in this aircraft but this looks like a hoot! And for those of us that are "time stressed" - guaranteed short mission. Surely someone with the skills in the community will make some skins/textures for this beastie once released to git[hub, lab]. Thanks for sharing!
  11. I'd go one step further - non-clickable icons on the bottom, clickable on the rows above. Make as many rows as necessary for each type. Why do I need an icon for Map? Sure, it shows it's purchased but it's ok to have that hidden away IMO. If small screen resolution, make the rows scrollable top/bottom via mouse wheel. Clicking the screen to navigate side to side is dumb 1990s UI design.
  12. It takes a long time to develop a module. During that time there is no revenue. The external model is typically one of the first things developed as far as I can tell. Once these external models are being shown publicly and are of a basic "20 footer" quality they should be made available for purchase as an AI asset as part of the early access program at a reduced rate. A basic internal model would be pushed to production to these buyers when ready. There should be an option to buy the full module at the EA differential price once the detailed, flyable model is complete enough for EA. What this provides: - revenue earlier in module development. - access to decent AI models for mission creation while not having to fawk around with dubiously maintained user mods that come and go and break from release to release. - early review and vetting of the 3d models by a larger group. - Is the AI dynamics modifiable from module to module? Early review of AI model by a larger group. - Early experience with support issues earlier in the module lifecycle. Potential issues: - Early support of these models means module maker needs to be able to provide that support. - May cut into pure dev time or contracted resources for a small, indy shop. - Optics regarding potential bait-n-switch complaints if a module gets redesigned/repurposed later in the design cycle. - Difficult to price... 25% of final module cost? Tha 3D model is not 25% of the cost to develop a module - expect it is much less - but need to balance the value of this propsed activity to all parties. I don't know how practical this is but would partake in something like this. I would even consider buying some assets that there is no intention of turning into a full module even. For example, if the long rumoured Battle of Britain plane set ever happens, I would consider buyng a third party's AI only Stuka, especially if packaged with a few variants, AI tweaks for deployment methods accessible in the mission editor, perhaps ground assets that are Stuka specific. The module developer retains the right to turn an AI module into a full module in the future. I guess they AI only model concept already exists... Likewise, Beaufighter, Catalina, and others that might not be first picks for full module creation. This model could be used to provide modern assets as well of course. Sunday morning coffee thoughts...
  13. Reading the tea leaves... WW2 Marianas in Q1-Q2 2022. Corsair "fast follow"... Q3? P-38 rumours in Q4 2022. Hellcat - no real rumours till 2023. I haven't heard anything substantial about new variants of existing modules. Would really like to see someone, anyone, do the P-40A and a later variant.
  14. On MacOS? No. Its terrible for VMs IME. Which is kinda weird given FreeBSD is decent but I guess at this point the distance between forking is very wide. It's not really a priority for Apple. Linux KVM/Qemu with GPU pass through runs Windows and MacOS_amd64 at pretty much bare metal speeds.
  15. I've lost scope on this mod/project... Was the AI/static Tracker ever made available? Just curious.
  16. What worked for me to train out the bounce in the warbirds was to just practice, practice, practice touch-n-goes on the main wheels till I got the feel of lightly touching down and reducing or increasing the throttle depending on what I wanted to do. If you bounce you might be too slow when touching down. Sudden decrease in lift from the wings at the same time as touch down combined with the slowing of the aircraft when the wheels touch and cause more drag. Not a lot of help but... there's nothing wrong with the sim IMO. Not a real pilot but the experience seems "plausible" when making allowances for desktop grade physical interface hardware.
  17. My unit arrived yesterday. Nice! Solid feeling device. Really feels and looks good. I appreciated the way it was packed - hand cut, high density foam. Some real effort and attention to detail. Looking forward to trying it this weekend.
  18. Tracking says mine landed in Toronto last night at 20:40. Hoping it will be here in the next few business days.
  19. Once upon a time Polychop was saying they were going to do the Stuka but nothing came of it. A Stuka would be a nice component for a BoB plane set.
  20. For full modules, BoB, North Africa, and PTO flesh out for the incoming modules. Some German equivalent of the Mossie would be good (Me. 110? Ju-88 full module?). Need AI He-111 among others. Also need AI Japanese assets, once delivered there might be some obvious desires for full modules.
  21. The only brand I've ever really heard anything negative about is Zotac. I did buy a Zotac 1650 for a low end, SFF desktop computer once (before GPU-apocalypse) and it had such a noisy fan I returned it immediately after firing it up. FWIW, I have mostly Gigabyte GPUs and never had any problems. That said, I've heard they can be difficult to deal with for RMA processing. For GPUs I bought extended warranties, for "cheaper" stuff like mobos I rolled the dice. HTH
  22. Have you bought the plane? With the obvious enthusiasm and intent you have for the airplane I'm pretty certain you will enjoy it. Trial it first perhaps. Have you seen this? http://virtualairrace.com/ There is a class with the Yak-52. <That site is loading really slow for me, not sure if that is the case everywhere - almost unusable ATM>
