  1. CF-105... hmm... sorry - don't have anything directly useful to add but my guess is that you are not getting the output of function LoRegisterPanelControls() correctly (null vs content). I would start there. local controllers = LoRegisterPanelControls() What happens if you 'grep -ir LoRegisterPanelControls .' or similar? func revealed?
  2. I'm all for any type of civilian aircraft in DCS. As someone stated above, the flight models are so good in DCS it seems to be a waste to only have jet propelled bomb trucks and spamaraamers. That said, if a case can be made for a civilian aircraft that was used in the military (i.e. have two variants) that makes a lot of sense. For me something like a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog would be great. I enjoy the Yak, the Edge and the CEII; wouldn't mind some more aircraft that can be pushed into bush plane service or pure aerobatic usage as well. Some of the best times I've had in DCS have been putting the Yak down into a tricky mountain valley or plateau to visit a outpost I've placed in the mission editor. Even replicating real life Georgian airports has been fun. A float plane that can land on some of the mountain lakes on the Caucasus map would be great - reminds me I need to spend some time with the float plane mod. Variety is the spice of life. Not everyone uses DCS the same way you do.
  3. Yeah - it's dumb. I was kind of on the fence about buying a 2070S in February 2020 given the new cards were coming. So glad I did that now. It's workable for 4K. Maybe the next round of cards won't get scalped/mined as hard and MSRP will not be fiction. <I'm an optimist at heart>
  4. I don't have any experience with that box. But, do you need it? I ask in the context of maybe saving you some money - that is a fairly expensive box and you might be able to leverage hardware you already own instead. Is the CPU in your system Intel? If you install the Intel Quicksync drivers you can record 4K from your system at the same time using the Intel CPU (iGPU) without affecting the performance of your AMD or NVIDIA GPU that is dedicated to DCS. I do it all the time without issue (at 4K) using OBS. If there are other use cases that makes that box appealing or if you are on AMD CPU forget I said anything.
  5. It's not a Gigabyte mobo issue per se, it's a riser thing. Do some research - there are many postings about PCI-e riser card issues on Gen4. All manufacturers are affected. IIRC Hardware Canucks did a video on this in the last few months and discussed the issues and what riser dongles worked for them. Are you sure you down speeded your riser connected PCI slot to Gen3 and tested? I ask because in most cases this is the fix with risers on Gen4. Is the riser a Gigabyte unit or some random ebay crapware? Powered? Length? Best of luck!
  6. Can you temporarily run the rig without the riser card? There have been many reports of the riser cards causing issues in various programs. If you can't reconfigure physically - switch to PCI-e 3 for that slot in the BIOS. Video cards really don't need Gen 4 bandwidth.
  7. Do you have a link to the mod?
  8. Bismarck v1.5 works. Bismarck vs Hood is a long protracted battle so far - 30 mins. B is winning I think.
  9. True, true. Would like to see some civilian shipping also. But doesn't hurt to ask - Tirpitz could be a skin if not that fussy.
  10. I have the brakes mapped to an analog control and never have an issue with over-braking - well, unless I do something obviously dumb.
  11. FWIW I have the same issue getting the Bismarck to show up. I took a quick look at adding/removing Germany and Third Reich from the lua without any luck. Anyone been able to work around this issue? This is on stable - haven't tried OB yet. In other testing... Point blank 1-1 battle between the Missouri and the Yamato the Missouri always wins quickly - Yamato magazine appears to go up and she sinks. Hood (early) versus Yamato the Hood always wins but it is a longer battle and the Hood takes some good damage. Nothing scientific - just fun play time watching things go boom. Any work being done to bring the Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau?
  12. Yep - would like.
  13. Good data point - thanks.
  14. Yeah, kinda "baity" on my part - but I'd really like to see a P-40A/B in DCS, use that engine model to bring a P-38... Mariannas... AI Zeros coming...
  15. Supposed to be coming with the new weather in 2.7
  16. Use 7-zip - it is free, open source, and can handle most all commonly available compression formats: https://www.7-zip.org/
  17. At this rate I'm seriously thinking about getting a pilots license and a real Yak-52. Might be cheaper in the long run.
  18. I am watching the market on and off. I would like to upgrade my 2070 Super to something more VR friendly and move the 2070 to one of my graphics workstations. I play at 4K currently with lots of detail turned on. The on again - off again 3080Ti is currently on again. I have a feeling that price-wise it will slot between the 6800XT and 6900XT. It will likely be closer to the 6900XT but possibly a touch faster and/or just generally better for MSFS2020/DCS at 4k and VR. It seems there are similarities between running 4K and VR and also between DCS vs MSFS2020 so those are the benchmarks I tend to pay more attention towards. Locally the regular 3080 is ~C$1200 while the 6900XT is ~$1600. At those prices the 3080 makes a lot of sense with the 6800XT being a good option also at ~$1200. 3090 is totally stupid at ~$2500. I could buy one if I wanted to but will not because it's just stupidly priced. They are all ridiculously priced and we are being screwed over by the manufacturers (MSRP is prob $200 more than they should be) but you have to pay to play.
  19. Thanks for that. Took me a while to get my bearings wrt what was where - really turned around. Failing memory and all that. Found the old PMQ we lived in though. Ha. I remember there being more civilian aircraft there but again could be failing memory or they've since been dragged off.
  20. Post '74 works for me. There is (was?) an abandoned Shackleton at Nicosia. Us kids used to sneak out to it to mess around in it.
  21. Let to the party - anyone know what version of Nicosia we are getting? The bombed out and abandoned version? Static Shackleton and stuff? Green line assets?
  22. I can get behind the P-38 and P-39. And the A-20 and A-26 - might as well throw in the B-25 while we are at it. On the German side the Do. 335 would be freakin' awesome. Here's some cool "sim" images instead of grainy B&Ws or colour ramp queen pics: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?204612-Dornier-335-WWII-Heavy-Fighter-German-Luftwaffe
  23. SWAPR is great. Can't live without it when making missions at this point.
  24. Also, @philstyle has a decent video on landings with the Spit. After watching/implementing the ideas in that video I had a Eureka moment a few hours later and landings were no longer a big deal.
