  1. I eat AI sabres for breakfast in my MiG. Literally, the nevada dogfight instant action is my daily dose of BFM. The MiG is not an easy plane. It will stall. It will mach tuck. It will drop wings at inopportune moments. She does seem to have a little more power than the sabre, but not enough to extend at will from them. You need to fly it with care, attention, patience and no small dose of luck. The best thing about the MiG are the guns however. Such fun. No pansy ratatat, but two big honking 23mm Soviet hate dispensers with a 37mm cyka blyat blyat gun thrown in for good measure. One hit from that and it's all over. So good.
  2. Does turning on Oxygen Pressure make a difference? I read it does in real life, but I didn't test scientifically in the sim. It's the green lever next to your right thigh, the rearmost on the oxygen panel.
  3. Fix didn't make into the latest patch :(
  4. Yeah you're right, this should have gone in the 2.5 wishlist thread. "Flight.. check in" only makes them sound off, not say anything about fuel or armament state.
  5. Uhuh. Yeah. But what if you are flying vipers or tigers or mirages or balalaikas?
  6. Hi guys, While you are fiddling with flight AI, perhaps might it be possible to add a command to the menu to have them tell their fuel state? Perhaps also armament? It would be handy to know and not have them eject on RTB due to fuel starvation. Just a relatively simple and small addition that would mean a lot for player comfort. Cheers, schurem
  7. @wizay you are confusing is and ought. The patch could very well be substantial, but the fact that it could, does not logically imply that it should.
  8. I hope it does VR better than what I currently have.
  9. A bit like in Jiu Jitsu: Position before submission. You need to be in control of the fight before you can actively think about employing weapons in a deliberate fashion. On the other hand, just like in Jitsu, there can be times where a snapshot opportunity presents (or is created by you!) and you should always be ready to take it. People say the AI sucks so bad it will lead to negative training. I don't agree. It's just that it can only teach you so much. Once your gunnery is spot on and you can out-dance the bots regularly, you are done with them. Until that time, shooting bots is a fun and profitable exercise. I fly the MiG-15 nevada dogfight instant action almost daily. It remains fun and a challenge to me.
  10. BFM isn't just about circles. There's a ton of geometry in there. Read up some theory on it, or watch some youtube. I like the video's done under the name of DCS debrief. He's good.
  11. Yeah I enjoyed the campaign a lot up until this point lol. Is there a way we can fix it ourselves? perhaps delete the truck in the ME? Edit: no we can't. I can open it, find the offending truck and move its waypoint but the save option is greyed out. Meh.
  12. Lol. Yeah it takes some getting used to. Keep it at speed and it will tear any other machine a new one. Its an energy fighter, not a groveller like the navy machines. Don't let them sucker you onto getting slow. You loose your great advantage and run into the AoA limiter like the above guy. You will also be real easy pickings for third party bandits. So keep her fast and vertical. Slice em and dice em baby!
  13. I flew the i-16 for a bit, then bought it. Fun little monster. The others I already own ;) its a great move by ED isn't it ?
  14. It's a harmony between in-game settings (gamma!) and your monitors' and your video cards'. There's a lot of sliders to tweak. I suggest you find your sweet spot by trial and error. Good luck!
  15. Open the mish in the editor and fix your thing. Save it. Voila.
  16. Eh, that's ok. I can live with this one for another week or so. Can you?
  17. My rig is even less powerful, and i been flying VR with it for about two years now. I am looking forward to building a new box though.
  18. Yeah, it does on my rig. Flew pretty nicely, it did. :pilotfly:
  19. There's doom and gloom, and things go boom.. in wags' laaaaab! ahem. yeah. well. To me the list looks fine. I would love to be able to point the TPOD towards air targets, have a look-see. Is that on the list somewhere? Too bad about the firebombs, but eh. I'm right chuffed at seeing real progress on the A/G radar front. Jolly good job there, whoever's working that! It's going to open up a range of interesting machines if that's available...
  20. I think people who have trouble with FPS should try updating drivers and deleting metashaders and fxo folders. I did both and see a marked improvement in simple missions such as MiG-15 nevada dogfight instant action (four airplanes)
  21. For me, Hercules, the 130 would be ideal. However a spartan would be fun as well, or a Dakota.
  22. Pish, real men weasel with cans of cluster bombs. Dont fly straight & level at medium altitude is all :pilotfly:
  23. I wish this info, as well as what the cams and springs exactly do, was available in written form. As it is, YouTube is the sole source it seems.
  24. Of course being a True Brit it's frenchness is a barrier, but you may want to consider the Mirage 2000. It has excellent tutorials in both the Caucasus and Nevada. Also a truly wonderful campaign.
  25. Heh, well it's also on sale, and easily worth the fiver you'd spend on it.
