For the small ones (FFAR or hydra) firing the entire pod in one go is OK. For Zuni rockets its feels like a waste to fire them all at once. Perhaps they were a tad too accurate, but in my Harrier I could plink APC's with them like a boss, allowing me to take out a whole freaking company singlehandedly.

Like heck they don't. They don't really need to do anything. As for want? well I rather have more 80s and 90s stuff than 2000s. For me, the fulda gap scenario is where its at, all that happened after was horrible misuse of machinery, like shooting a gnat with a cannon.

could it be you did a cold start and forgot to turn on the oxygen?

isnt nvgs or helmet mounted designator a toggle in the mission editor or ground crew menu?

Dudes chill. this is all very much WiP. Of course there's going to be distortion filters over the sounds to add a mask and crappy intercom. Of course it won't be all hollywood "yeehaw!" nor will it be like a robot, which imo is awesome. I for one want the more colourful stuff in there. Even if it is a tad more colourful than a RL experienced RIO would be.

Is this thing as close as it smells? I am really looking forward to it, the fun you guys are having building it is showing so clearly :)

On the other hand, the F-5E is an icon. It's what the agressors flew, as well as top gun. The mirage is fly by wire, meaning the pilot tells the computer where he wants the plane to o and the machine flies itself to the best of its abilities. Not so in the F-5. Its all you in there. I consider that more fun.

That thing TLTeo posted is the bible on BFM and ACM. It is also piracy, so get yours while it lasts. Read it. Learn it. This is the book every fighter pilot has on his nightstand.

Do not pull your stick to max deflection. There's a good reason AoA is right there on the HUD. Pull to about 20 degrees but not further! You can pull fantastic AoA in the hornet, well over 60 degrees if you want to, but that will dump your energy like a nasty girlfriend. So get to 300ish knots and keep it there. You will do fine. Exercise. Exercise more. Exercise even more! I just ran the nevada MiG-29 BFM sortie. Fun! I went full burner right from the get-go and reefed it into the vertical upon merging. The MiG went for a slice to his left. As I pulled through the vertical I converted some of the excess speed into angles for the first time. I guess I now had about 20 degrees on him. The next turn the AI went vertical, but I made a horizontal turn. As we crossed I reversed and this being a 1v1 I converted speed to angles and soon put the MiG on the defensive. He signaled that neatly by popping flares. One more cycle of scissors and I got a tracking shot that put him in the dirt.

The series of episodes on carrier aviation is so freaking good. Jell-O is a great interviewer. His shows truly are great PR for not only naval aviation, but the millitary in general as they reveal themselves as being mature, humble and thoughtful people with hearts and dang smart minds.

Actually in VR dirty canopies are excellent, they help increase immersion. I also like the 2nd picture better and am quite happy with the recent boost in rendering speed the balalaika got with last wednesdays patch.
