I had the G940 but it's been shelved in favour of a MSFFB2+CHFighter Stick creation. I had a love hate relationship with the G940, it held so much promise  The reason for the centre slack is that DCS world isn't really speaking the correct language to the G940. The MSFFB2 is pretty tight, not perfect but alot better than the G940. The G940 really works nicely if you use it to drive in a driving game because all driving games use the newer FFB protocol which I think is owned/licensed by logitech. Every racing game is expected to have FFB these days so I wonder do racing game devs have to pay to utilise that protocol? So ED tried really hard to make the G940 work in DCS but Logitechs attitude was described as "intransigent".:smartass:

I wonder how she got the gig. Was there auditions? Where countless hours spent scientifically determining the best voice for this application? Couldn't Bobcat Goldthwait have done just as good a job?:)

+1 Yes please

Probably the same as hardcore racing-sims or tank-sims or sub-sims. Games have always been more popular as they have broad appeal. I'd say the DCS numbers must be growing as I've noticed lots of WWII fans and civvy fans coming in over the last few years. The numbers for this genre will never get to AAA numbers because a sim gives the user a steep learning curve to overcome which is attractive to some but off-putting to most. We know this, part of the appeal is the knowledge that alot of your friends and family wouldn't have the patience or commitment to undertake the learning process. :smartass: DCS is especially difficult to break into as a newb 1) Learn to fly 2) Navigation 3) Weapons 4) How radar works 5) How the RWR works 6) How countermeasures work 7) How missiles work 8) How AAA and SAMS work 9) Beaming, Notching, Cranking, Kinematics and energy loss. 10) When do I use flashing Nav lights. And thats just for a FC aircraft, when you throw in complex systems management and I pity anyone climbing that hill all at once. Hardware requirements play a factor aswell especially in DCS. Having a fairly good PC and then having to buy a fairly decent HOTAS can be a huge barrier to entry in alot of countries. It also really depends on what you consider a flightsim. I would not play it but WarThunder has great numbers and I think there is a flight-simmer in the heart of every WT player. :)

This has been my main reason for not bothering with this module. I thought this was a ASM module dammit :smilewink:
-
I personally haven't bought any of the trainer modules also. They have a limited use for me in the limited time i have to play. I'm actually struggling to keep up with releases that do interest me. I wouldn't bother with a guesstimated uberfighter either. That poor guy who tried to pitch DCS F35:megalol: That's the beauty ED's system, if you don't want it don't buy it.

Scarecrow replied to Groove's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Feedback for update 25/10/15. Wags, when you switch to external cam while answering a question I can't hear anything but jet engine. ;) -

Got to thinking the other day about the huge task facing the forum moderators, over the next few months, channeling all the bug reports that are being made every day now. The open beta process of development is surely the best&quickest method of identifying all the little glitches in a piece of software as complex as DCS 1.5. I have noticed though that many don't take the time to properly format or search or put the reports in the correct place leaving it to the mods to sort out what is a genuine bug and what is user error. So I hope all who read this will join me in thanking the mods for their hard work which has no doubt increased exponentially in the last few weeks.

Whatever the mission gives me. Tip. The Shkval+laser has gimbals and so you don't don't need to point the nose of the aircraft at the target for the weapons entire TOF. I start gently turning off target about five seconds before weapon impact, helps when it works.

I'd buy that for a dollar:)

+1.

Great work. Getting the same frames in the openbeta as in the current release. Had the MSVCR.dll problem but a quick search fixed that. The lighting and HDR is lovely, it's been worth the wait.:) Bring on the hordes of roaming zombies and the drop in mechs:D I had also hoped some kind of parkour mechanic would have been made available with this update.

How many modules are you REALLY proficient at?
Scarecrow replied to Pizzicato's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I'm proficient at none aswell. I never even learned to shutdown the A10C which would be my best understood module:eek: -
+1. I'm pretty happy with how DCS looks now. So many little bugs with the SU25/T and the A10A make only the helo campaigns worth playing for me nowadays. Wingman AI is just [insert expletive] for A-G. Su25T AP has been bugged all year. Sorry needed to get that off my chest:)

Excellent news. This statement should really be stickied. I had trouble ascertaining the FM fidelity level of this module from the Eshop description, so hesitated to make a purchase. Now I'm in.:)

M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM - Available for Pre-Purchase
Scarecrow replied to MemphisBelle's topic in M-2000
Quick question before purchase. This module is releasing with a SFM and later update to EFM? I think this is a fair price for an aircraft of this scope if it has an EFM.:) -
Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
Scarecrow replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Great trailer. I probably won't buy this map though...cos I already own it:) -
What mod did you do. Sounds like something wired up backwards.:(
