  1. I'm 99% sure I heard Nick Grey refer to it as a game in an interview. Or as my girlfriend years ago asked to me on the phone one night, "Are you flying your little airplanes?"
  2. I'm inclined to think every single person here likes specific forms of aviation. That said there are certainly many who like non-specific forms of aviation as well. I wonder if those who like non-specific forms of aviation consider that a specific form of aviation?
  3. Or pretend you're a guy sitting at home in his pajamas flying airplanes on his PC and having fun. Works for me.
  4. Love me some new maps. Just have to wait for Steam.
  5. Welcome to my world. Every flight through the wonderful mission editor. Afghanistan will be no different.
  6. It's already been asked, but is there any idea about the size of the map? Are we looking at 100GB+? My 1TB drive might not make it to 2025 at this rate.
  7. I never bought the JF-17. Therefore I don't fly the JF-17. And one thing I never ever do is complain that I can't fly the JF-17, because I've had the option to buy it and never did. So it's a non-issue. Fly what you buy. If you don't buy, then you can't fly. It's that simple.
  8. If the MP players can fly the plane, manage the systems, and deal with the communications, then I'm of the opinion they can figure out if they do or do not have the map that is required to fly on that there particular server. And if they don't have it, they they don't fly it. I see no problems at all.
  9. It brings precisely no problems whatsoever to MP. You do the exact same thing people in SP do: if you have it, fly it - If you don't have, don't fly it. Super simple. No problem at all.
  10. I'm willing to chew on the eccentricities of the sim if it means I get to have the newest and bestest high-tech flightsim toys.
  11. I thought the whole map HD was $48 but if you bought the three sections separately it was $23 per section, making it $69?
  12. Seems a tad Byzantine, but as a dedicated map slut, I'm in for the spin. Any idea how many terabytes this thing will be?
  13. Neither here nor there, but this has over 31 million views in less than a year. Cool!
  14. Count me in for a big hot smoking "yes". Love me some new maps. No problem with EA. Day one purchase for me.
  15. I prefer to make my own missions in the wonderful DCS Mission Editor.
  16. I'd be happy to have a "best guess" payware F-35 to fly. I think it would be a lot of fun.
  17. Amen! Give me any plane and any map, I'll find a way to have fun with it.
  18. I passed it along. You made my SU-25T smile. ...and then it sank a couple of guided missiles into a parked car, so it's feeling pretty good about itself right now.
  19. Oh, the cruelty! The Su-25T is a lot of fun and carries a wicked weapons load. Decent tech-toys as well. Ralfidude even made a Zero to Hero video on the Su-25T Shkval yesterday. I'm going to fly it right now and whisper sweet things in its nacelles. My poor little Su-25T. It don't get no respect.
  20. I'm having the same problem where Steam disabled all my modules. In my profile page, in the "steam binding " part, the button is right now orange and says "bind". Is that what it should be or am I supposed to change it? I don't want to click on something that will screw everything up... worse than it is now. Edit: after a few restarts of the PC and opening the game a few times, all seems to work now. Just a burp in the cosmos I guess.
  21. Weapons? The GBU-28. It's what the Strike Eagle was made for.
  22. Obviously he's Canadian and enjoying his day off.
  23. Syria isn't my favourite map - personal geographic preference - but it's still the King Kong of quality as far as maps go. Defintely the best made and maintained map for the sim. I felt like I got my money's worth when I bought it, but they just keep making it better anyway.
  24. Holy Gigabytes! 62GB update on Steam. I'm not complaining.
