  1. Reminds me of that cartoon from Pogo:
  2. Oh, you sweet summer child.
  3. Basically, if it's not "fulfilled by Amazon", I don't buy it. And Amazon has given me amazingly good customer service, so that's why I only buy what they stock. I've made hundreds of Amazon purchases over the years and only once did I order something from a third party; a PC part coming from a big in-country store with a good rep.
  4. Some some odd reason my Harrier can still carry 3xMk83s on the inner pylons. That was supposed to be removed years ago but I can still do it. So I'm keeping my Harrier.
  5. Glad to hear you like it. Just ordered a webcam, should be here Sunday, and I'll be trying out the Beam Tracker demo. Looking forward to some of that 6DoF goodness. I had a $10 head tracking app from Google Play, worked off my phone, but it was too jumpy, didn't use it much at all. But the A-10C cockpit at night was gorgeous to look at with that thing.
  6. Going from 1TB to 4TB isn't nickels and dimes. That's an actual dollar or two. I can still fit Afghanistan and one more map on my DCS-dedicated 1TB m.2, then I'll have to get a 2TB.
  7. Perhaps it's an unwarranted concern - perhaps not - but I would like a guarantee that none of my bought & paid for RazBam modules will be deleted from the game. We're in an age where we buy things but don't own things, we just kind of rent them and we're subject to all manner of decision making beyond our control.
  8. Wildly uneducated purely speculative bad guess: 80 to 120GB.

    F-15e Update?

It's missing the GBU-28. This thing was built for beeg badabooms!
  10. If Wags was any smoother in his delivery, his image would glide right off the screen.
  11. That's a shame because the Harrier is a ton of fun. But you're right, at this point the F-16 would be the best choice, and it realty is a great module.
  12. You may be right.
  13. Comments are turned off.
  14. That is a fair question.
  15. Apparently it's a pig with lipstick. I thought it was a hardcore military flightsim?

    An Update

Perhaps you should wish for something else.
  17. But God gave you The Holy Land. And Kentucky be thy name.
  18. It's not cheap living in the greatest country in the world. TrackIR would be about $240 tax included in that funny green money you guys use. That's a couple of bucks.
  19. We got the new clouds a while back, which is The Best improvement in years I think - and the best clouds in any flightsim - and there's the multi-threading and DLSS. I did see a sweet jump in my FPS with the multi-threading. It's not all coming around as fast as we might like, but the sim looks great and runs well. And Vulcan is on the way, along with new map and aircraft tech. I'm feeling positive about the whole thing.
  20. I'd like a TrackIR, but I hate the idea of paying ~$300Cdn for it. And $450 for the Tobii is just insulting. That's over $500 tax included. You're getting into the price range of a VR headset. $300 to $450 strikes me as very rude. It's a webcam and some IR reflectors, more or less, and they're charging as if it's NASA tech. $40 for this Beam Tracker thing seems just about right.
  21. Yep. Excellent for Scenery Appreciation Day.
  22. Ya gotta love that with all the talk of Strike Eagles and Phantoms, the Yak-52 still has such a fan base.
  23. This looks promising. And affordable. Amazon Canada has the Tobii at $450 and TrackIR at almost $300. This is $40 for the program and just needs a webcam, which I might order tonight. Has anyone tried this yet?
  24. I can be as critical as the next guy, but the bottom line is that DCS is one of a kind and the best of all flightsims. There is nothing else giving us this level of tech and fidelity. So best to chew - grudgingly - on the delays and imperfections and count ourselves fortunate that we have access to Strike Eagles and Hornets in all their guided weapons and funky MFD glory. Not to mention the upcoming Phantom which may well be the most sophisticated flightsim plane ever. And I want the best of the best in flightsim goodness. And I very much want my CH-47 and am happy to pre-order ASAP. So I'll bitch and whine a bit, but I absolutely will not stop supporting the sim. Just my opinion.
  25. ...and 1000 grown men all sigh a collective "Awwwww!"
