Best gear/headset phones to replace HP reverb audio?
01G8R replied to fargo007's topic in Virtual Reality
I use Galaxy Buds Plus and a boom mic with my G2. If you're looking for a good over the ear set the Arctis stuff is nice, but I don't like that with VR. I want to be able to switch from 2d to VR without removing my audio and mic. I tried Bose earbuds and they sound better than the Galaxy, but the battery life wasn't as good and they were much heavier. Not comfortable for extended use. -
Google search for the Apache manual. That manual has higher resolution pictures of the MPD. I took a screenshot of the PDF and put that in Fusion360 as a canvas. Re-sized it to match the external dimensions that we know from the other PDF. The button spacing is really easy to get once you have done that. I believe the horizontal buttons are .75" CTC and the vertical are .8" CTC if I remember correctly. I modified mine slightly to match the buttons I have. My panels should be done next week and I will post pictures.

I hope it works for you. This is the power supply I purchased that is working well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q2E5IXW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

After using my Orion Throttle for some time this issue bothered me enough to do something about it. I have machined plates to angle the throttle so it is comfortable to use for an extended period of time. Direct replacement for the original plates using stock hardware. No modifications needed. CNC machined out of 6061 Aluminum. I have them available for sale on my website. https://simstix.com/products/winwing-orion-angled-throttle-plates

Yeah, those are the switches I'm going to use for the MPD. The body is 15mm square and the switch itself is 11mm square. This 11mm is close to the size of the original. I'm only using mine in VR and I'm not concerned about it matching the physical appearance of the original.

CH47 Chinook, flyable, clickable, EFM
01G8R replied to Dweeeeb's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I'm having the same trouble with the collective. Everything else seems to be working properly. -
This may have been covered before, but I couldn't find any info on it. I thought I was the only one with this problem until I discussed it with some guys in a group I fly with and others had the same problem. I noticed an occasional problem where the JetSeat Usb would disconnect and reconnect in rapid succession when it was trying to fire multiple vibration motors at the same time. This was indicated by the USB disconnect reconnect noise in Windows and stuttering in DCS. I also installed a USB logging program to confirm it was the JetSeat disconnecting/reconnecting. I could reproduce with the cannon in the F-16 over 50%. Reducing the overall vibration level (about 50%) or each individual item (below 45%) seemed to make this better. That led me to the conclusion that the provided power supply may not be sufficient on US 110v power with the plug adapter. It is a 500ma supply and has to have an adapter to US 110v. I tried a 2A power supply I had laying around from a USB hub and now it works with the levels at 100% and no USB disconnect, reconnect noises or stutters. A replacement 2A power supply can be purchased from Amazon for about $10 in the US. The plug on mine is 5.5mm x 2.1mm.

We have a server hosted by Fox3 for our group. We would like to use SLMod for admin tools. With the hosted server I don't have direct access to the files to make changes and test. I just want to try and get it right the first time if possible. As I understand from the documentation I need to modify the config.lua file to turn on admin tools and add a password for adding admins. Is there anything else I should do to get the admin tools up and running?

I have both the Buddy-Fox UFC and the Tek Creations F-16 ICP. There is no comparison between the two. Buddy-Fox is a bargain at double the price they charge. I will be first in line if they offer the F-16 ICP.

(SOLD) I have a set of Slaw Device RX Viper 2 pedals for sale. These are brand new. I go them with the August drop. They are in perfect condition with the protective covers still on the stickers. I found I do not like the push/pull heels on the floor pedals and went back to the VKB style. The build quality on these is excellent and I will be buying the Slaw Rotor pedals when they become available. They will ship in the original Slaw packaging with damper. Original cost 546 Euros ($644 USD) and $40 for the damper. I'm asking $575 OBO shipped in the continental USA. Outside USA will ship at additional cost.

reported Instant Action Syria Take Off From Runway Immediate Shutdown
01G8R replied to 01G8R's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yep, same problem in the Hind. ED has acknowledged the problem in the Hind, but nothing on the Mi-8 in two weeks. -
I'm not a livery expert, but these links will help.

When I place the Mi-24 on a ship (Tarawa, Super Carrier, Kuznetsov) it immediately shuts down when I spawn in. Mi-8 exhibits the same behavior in my mission and instant action Syria>Start From Runway Hot. Can cold start or start from the air in the same mission with no issues. Mission Mi-24 Immediate Shutdown.trk

In the Instant Action Mission Syria Take Off From Runway the Mi-8 immediately shuts down. I ran across this when trying to make a mission. The Mi-8 and Mi-24 immediately shut down when placed on any ship I tried. Tarawa, Kuznetsov and Supercarrier. Same mission starting in the air they work fine. Thinking of getting a Pimax 8K X - is it worth it over a Reverb G2?
01G8R replied to Notso's topic in Virtual Reality
Plus one on testing the Pimax for fit before you buy. I had the 8KX and couldn't wear it for more than 10-15 minutes before my head was throbbing. I can wear my G2 for hours without issue. -
Is 32 GB of RAM enough for DCS in VR or will it make use of more Ram
01G8R replied to darkman222's topic in Virtual Reality
My system was using between 28 to 30 GB of RAM running DCS. I upgraded from 32 GB to 64 GB. No other changes and now I'm seeing 34 to 36 GB of RAM usage while running DCS. I assume some of the RAM is being kept free and now that I have more available the system can use it.
