Woohoo, now that IS as official as it gets. Keeping everything crossed she make a smooth Final Approach.

Way to go EB and everyone at Belsimtek.

As to the media, I get the impression that EB, is as frustrated as we are with the situation but sadly it seems for whatever reason Belsimtek don't want to release anything until the module is available.

Stupid I know, I'm sure a few vids or Pics, would actually help them sell more copies, but that said none of us here are aware of the big picture. There might actually be some good reason for the lack of release. ( no idea what on earth that might be though )

Sit back, pop on Tour of Duty, or read Chickenhawk for the 20th time again, anything to make the next few weeks flash by. But whatever you do, get ready for the best Helo experience in a sim yet. ( Hopefully ;) )

I bet it has something to do with License agreement with Bell? He might have to pay a royalty every time the dam picture is shown?

What did Matt say about royalties, something along the lines of if the aircraft were developed and government funded with taxpayers money, then there can be no legal claim to royalties, or something like that.

No doubt, just a view I agree with entirely.

No matter, we will get it when we get it, and thats just gonna have to be good enough :)

As we can see from that GUI screenshot, Belsimtek's Huey is an official licenced Bell/Textron product. But we can only gues what agreements and contracts are behind that and what possible cash flow results from that...

That would make sense. UH1 is an iconic helicopter, yet a transport helicopter. I'm not forecasting heavy sales like an F-18 would do, but if you consider the UH1 being a "test platform" to learn DCS coding, FM and script, that really adds up.

Being grounded with my dead computer, i don't have much to do other than speculate on forums :P

And they know the code for multicrew aircraft! (F-15e anyone?!).

And would it be possible to have some speakers so others can hear us coming with Flight of the Valkirie?

You must be joking. We don't need another third party doing another F-15E.

Nope, I waa saying that the code for multicrew exist. There's already 2 3rd parties doing it, it's enough.

But conserning the door gunner, I wonder how hard it'll be to it infantry. I mean, with the A-10 you're coming straight at them and if the bullet is 2' off you won't hit.... Now imagine doing the same thing but with a smaller calliber AND going sideways...

AH-1 cobra was announced recently in a podcast, by wags, if i remember well. Could it be possible that Belsimtek will be handling that baby thanks to their licence ?

this is the case and will be.

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

I want to put my 5 cents. I don’t know if anybody cares, but whatever.

I’m huge fan of DCS series. I don’t have much interest of UH-1, and some aircraft being produced, or even released, but I’m going to buy everything if it has 6DOF, clickable cockpit, and is real as it possible. Even third party stuff.

I was “defending” myself from buying P-51D, because I don’t exactly like WW2 era planes, plus it don’t belongs to DCS series (in my opinion). Still, I bought it after 3 days after release. Same thing was with FC3. I’m going to pay even for glider, if someone is going to make it to DCS standards.

When it comes to UH-1, you just popped out of nowhere announcing it being released soon (“DCS: UH-1H Huey will be available for pre-purchase later this year for $39.99.”, announcement date: 10-09-2012), and in my opinion, it was big mistake. As a DCS fan, I can understand that you have some problems with releasing it, but as a customer I don’t care, and I want to see something about product I’m about to purchase. After 5-6 month we have nothing, except outdated cockpit screenshot, and DCS World wallpaper.

For me, as a customer, there is two ways of announcing/releasing project:

- Announce it early, and provide us with screenshots, videos as development continues.

- Don’t do any public announcement before you have ready to release, or near release ready, product.

I`m pretty disappointed with your policy of announcing and sitting almost silent (or at least providing us with anything solid to make us think about buying your product), that I`m probably not going to buy this module in near future.

This is only my opinion as customer. Wish you all the best with UH-1 project.

I can understand your frustration Zerver, the media aspect of this product has well for lack of a better word been a joke. I certainly would've expected to see some pics or videos by now, considering all indications are its almost with us.

I'm hoping they do a better job with the Cobra, that said though for me, this is a first min buy. I can't wait to fly this bird, I'm just hoping that the lack of media isn't because of the quality of the module. It's only because I have faith in Ed not to allow poor quality products have the dcs name that I'm prepared to buy without seeing. ( whether or not I regret that, well only time will tell )

If you look at the posts from EB who Is the face of the company on here, I think it's pretty obvious that's he is just as frustrated as we are.

But please don't write off the module just yet. I'm certain it's gonna be great fun.

Yeah Cowboy my friend ! Totally with you.

I just imagine a Cobra and it's also as awesome as the Huey... hope to see a Vietnam map emerge, with historical missions such Ia Drang Valley, Operation Hastings, Irving, Cedar Falls etc etc and great pilot campaign...

I remember a while ago, when I was still a Ka-50 pilot, making all my missions in rules of art, taking time to destroy all little targets one by one, going back to FARP to refuel and re-arm, all of that while listening Metallica's and Thin Lizzy's discography... Really great memories, I'm happy I'll able to do the same with DCS : Huey, with all best hits from the 60's up to the late 70's...

But don't understand why this thread is so busy, PLEASE LET THEM WORK, they are aware that people are waiting for media, if they don't, the reason is just they aren't able to.

Please be patient guys, I'm like you, I just know what it is to develop something...
