bigcountry Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 For those that have dificulty installing. I had full 1.2.7 installed. Than i downloaded the onld 1.2.7 beta installer from dcs page.Run it and it automaticly updated to 1.2.8 DCSW. For modules you need to go into module manager and install them from there. So we will end up having 2 seperate dcs folders on our C drive? thanks Communication is Key
AtaliaA1 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Son of a... I've been sat around all week doing nothing and now I'm going away for 3 days! Y u do dis ED? You could always build a HDMI Media Center PC in ITX/ATX for easy portability. Shuttle has some awesome cases. This one looks like an old radio from the 60s. Very Portable Unit. I was considering it but the in-laws needed financial help for a few months. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811204039 This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. Psyrixx Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 So we will end up having 2 seperate dcs folders on our C drive? thanks Correct. And you should, if testing a beta product. Keep 1.2.7 because you know it is stable, install 1.2.8 open beta to play around with the new features and check for bugs. If you find any game killers, you can always fall back to 1.2.7 and report the bugs so that we can confirm and fix them. That is the nature of having betas. Mustang Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 EDIT: I swear fps improved tremendously with this beta patch. Check out the green reflection along the coast. Updated High.lua was added to 1.2.8, this will explain some FPS increases ;)
AtaliaA1 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 So we will end up having 2 seperate dcs folders on our C drive? thanks You can put them were you want. I have one on the C: drive as it is an SSD and I put the 1.1.1.1.and 1.2.7 versions on my 4Terrabyte drive so that I wouldn't have to deal with Beta issues when I got the urge to fly. Valinor Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Not sure if it's supposed to, but in an air collision with my f15 i lost both wings, engines were on fire, the rudder was also damaged, and yet i was able to fly it like nothing happens. Hell, even had other f15s in formation with my burning plane :P
leafer Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Why you think they called it 'advanced' flight model, mmm? ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

xaoslaad Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Is the F-15C ground turning radius supposed to be the earth? I am finding it very difficult to taxi in confined areas where it was previously no problem. If this is accurate so be it, but is definitely a marked change.
SimFreak Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 So go to open beta bugs section and post it there.
siipperi Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Shouldn't TF51D have longer cockpitclass than on P51D? they are identical now...
59th_LeFty Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Everyone is getting it with 50kbps (est time 10hrs) or is it just me? [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
cichlidfan Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Shouldn't TF51D have longer cockpitclass than on P51D? they are identical now... No, it just has a jump seat, not a full rear cockpit. xaoslaad Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 dont know if it's a bug So go to open beta bugs section and post it there. Not sure if it's a bug, or by design. I have no idea what the true ground turning radius of a F-15C is :-P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2R3FvS4xr4&t=0m10s
xaoslaad Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Press and hold S during tight turns. Thanks Sobek. I can see the huge difference in the distance the front tire turns when holding down the S key. Definitely makes a difference on turn radius.

99Hawk Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Do you have enough Disk Space Available? That was the problem.:music_whistling: The folder is over 11Gb's in size. I didn't think it was that big. Thanks for the suggestion.
99Hawk Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 crashes??? that's VERY interesting. Please, post the autoupdate_log.txt file from the installation folder. The folder is over 11 Gb's in size. I needed more disk space. Thanks
lunaticfringe Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 new 1.2.8 F15 FM.:joystick: For those that are at work.:) First landing realy made me laugh. Airflow/structural sounds seem more pronounced, but that may be your specific settings (and if so, I want them). The tone progression of the OWS seems very legit, although I need to go back to reference materials to check. However, you should find that it grants a real flexibility for holding the edge of the best turn, so long as you're effectively managing your left hand. Two/three beep pattern is where you live in the corner. 1.6MB/second at 875/2005. I'll be checking to make sure there's no vestiges of the AoA limiter as soon as the download completes.
siipperi Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 No, it just has a jump seat, not a full rear cockpit. Judging internet TF51D have larger cockpit frame than P51D. Im not specialist but just judging pictures. http://fighter-collection.com/cft/tf-51d-mustang-miss-velma-2/ TF51D http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=513 P51D So we are getting some strange modification with orginal cockpit glass?
xaoslaad Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I landed hot, and just mashed the wheel break... something seemed to happen/break. Things got wobbly, but it didn't stop me stopping, turning around, and taking off again. Not sure if I 'just' broke the breaks, or what happened.
Yurgon Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Looks like I'm late for the party. Well, better late than never. :D This is great news indeed. The TF-51D sounds like a great addition, that's a really cool move! Everyone is getting it with 50kbps (est time 10hrs) or is it just me? Sorry, it's just you. By the time I was done reading 18 pages of "Woohoos", mine was done installing. Okay, off to sling loading the Huey now! :pilotfly:
