Wasnt it that boeing was asking too much coin for the right to produce it? If so the easy answer is having enough money to pay what they are asking, I thought that VEAO just didnt see it as financially viable... feel free to correct me if I remember wrong.

so what is your point of your question? Just because one group does not find it financially viable, doesn't mean it's not financially viable for everyone. It almost sounds like you're taking sides.

You're supposed to be a moderator and therefore have a neutral standing.

My statements were all general and 100% correct . VEAO for whatever reason could not get the job done, I did not say why. That is a 100% accurate statement . It is also an accurate statement as you well know that I am attempting to secure other methods. it is also an accurate statement without getting into specifics that there is a lot of politics and secrecy in the developer community.

This is exactly the kind of discussions. I did not want to get into. I am way too old to be interested in petty politics. I'm interested in getting a plane built. nothing else.

you can either help, mentor, or get out of my way.

But VEAO did.

Sadly the terms offered to us in exchange for the licence are not economically viable for the project to continue. Therefore we have to stop works on the Skyhawk and park the project indefinitely.

Man you need to chill out, people were asking about the issues VEAO had and I was trying to help clear up why VEAO couldnt and how you might be able to, so please dont start accusing me of not being neutral or whatever, I have done nothing but try to help you and and you have been nothing but rude towards me. You need to remember where and who your target audience is, coming off with an attitude isnt going to help your cause.

So try and re-read my statement again in the context it was written with the comments before it and you will find I wasnt taking sides at all.

I am very chill, I'm actually one of the chillist people you'll ever meet. if people want to know information from VEAO, then they should ask VEAO. Not expect me to answer on their behalf which has nothing to do with what I am trying to accomplish At the moment.

I approach things as any business person would. I asked direct questions which people seem these days to interpret as "rude". you and I have never had a conversation before on these forums.

As for my target audience… It is the people who want to fly cool, exciting aircraft in a cool, exciting flight simulator. The only attitude I have is wanting to get things done, and not get mired in the muck of politics. I deal straight up with people and I expect no less in return. and if that is rude, go ahead and call me rude in a public forum and I will wear the label proudly.

Whatever you need to do JazAero, I'm pretty sure a large chunk of the community is behind you.

Make an FC3 representation even and I'll buy it and if you can upgrade that in the future to a fully featured professional flight model, even better.

So the reality of the situation is:

The reality of the situation is between VEAO and Jazaero - they didn't meet on one or several key points. It is possible Jazaero doesn't see the entire picture. it is possible VEAO had other concerns that weren't voiced. Lots of other things possible.

One thing is sure however - it is none of our business. Hopefully parties will shake hands before they go their own ways .

Would be nice to know what's happening re: A-4 Skyhawk, but as with DCSW 2.0. I suppose we will hear something when the developer is ready to let us in on the goings on.

Isn't it cancelled due to licencing issues?

Boeing wanted too much to licence it.

Posted (edited)

Not cancelled by the developer, but dropped as a VEAO backed module due to prohibitive rights contract with McDonnel Douglas. (edited and corrected).

Whether it will see the light of day with full ASM/EFM remains to be determined.

So, should we take it that Boeing took over rights of active duty aircraft like F-15 and F-18 from Mc Donnel Douglas and legacy aircraft IP left with the former than?

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V
