Do you have any doubts it will be the most realistic F/A-18 Sim on the market? I don't. And of course there will be things they wont be able to model, just like every other modern aircraft they have in DCS.... on my side, I need something stronger than a grain of salt most days...

Agreed. While it may not be 100% true to life they will simulate it as close as they are allowed which is fine by me.

I will be a buying the F/A-18 as soon as it is available, and I will resume my hype.

At the very least ECM and laser guided mavericks.

Can I ask why about the laser guided mavs? ECM I understand even though I would like it to work more or less a little bit.

I'm very pleased by this newsletter along with the mig-15 trailer it makes me want to buy it even if I don't have time to fly 75% of all the modules I own lol

Source?

ECM: probably not as DCS:W lacks the groundwork for that

But why no 65E? Just because it was not supposed to be used with the A-10C?

I don't know why they would allow it on F-18 and not on the A-10. Doesn't make sense to me.

Because they had an agreement with the USAF/USANG that they would model a specific suite that did not have the Laser Mav in its inventory. Adding the Laser Mav would probably have constituted a breach of contract.

That by itself has no effect on the Hornet. If such an agreement exists for the Hornet too, it will again depend on the inventory of that specific suite whether we will see a Laser Mav or not.

Looking forward to the L-39 which will be the only trainer I buy.

1. Help promote the front seat back seat development

2. Only jet to date that fought in the Russo-Georgian war outside of Russian aircraft (to my knowledge).

If only we had the Mi-24 as well.

I was in Art of the Kill D#@ it!!!!

damn...it doesn't matter how many a/c DCS puts up for sale....I still can't face going back to the same ugly map that we've been using for years. Maybe when NTTR comes out.

Considering they've got the ground radar just about sorted all that's left to do is copy and paste all the A-10C mumbo jumbo over and hey presto alakazam.

It should be ready in two weeks. :D

It is not what he said, but i have never understand why they have never suited the real A10C with AG radar, terrain following AP and SEAD capability, sure the Gatling will interfere with the radar, but we don't need radar while firing it, even a search radar not even able to lock will be so much better for finding targets !

If only we could copy and past stuff from the A-10C to the F/A-18C haha

They are so different that the Mig-21 with his supersonic flight model will probably more to give as data then the A10C haha

Anyway about the Newsletter, anyone have see the Mig-15 Trailer ?

The Nevada terrain and the generals graphics look incredible in this video, it look like DCS World 2.0 will be a great step forward !

It makes absolutely no sense to fit the A-10 out as a SEAD platform. It is way too slow to fly escort for anything. Besides, it's slow speed means that it is a sitting duck if it got engaged by SAMs. SEAD is really not what it was conceived to do.

I had more in mind a support and auto defence SEAD, it can happen that we had to deal with a huge SA-10 site, flying low and being terrain masked, but then suddenly we see it on the mountain-less path to the next waypoint, too far from fighters patrol/escort mission than a SEAD capable aircraft come help us...

Well in such case i will be really happy to shoot my beautiful-radar-seeker-angry-warhead way too far for any Maverick to even dream about it and back safely on the mountain while the SA-10 have a bad day :D

Even if we can't get away fast enough from the incoming fire to lets our missile get the enemy radar down, we could hide while his inertial system will be probably enough to archive a correct impact, even if i don't know how reliable those secondary guidance are !

But surely i can understand your point that it have probably not enough concrete application to waste pylons and weight for one or two AGM-88 in simple prevention and have no real use as SEAD platform cause of how slow it is !

Even if the Su-25 have this capability, he is way faster !
