I don't know the progress of this discussion, but after we have such many pfm level's module, why you guys still expect a module only have sfm for alpha now and afm for far away future, yes, I means that mirage.

It just like someone buy a new high performance computer and ask others which system os should he install, the answer is windows 2000 is good as windowsXP.

Why we have windows 7 even windows X for now and still use those old fashion one to play game?

However I don't really know the FM level of our great Mig, it's only written efm(?).

 

In my case I have the C-101 with the sfm and only fly it a couple of times because it. So I prefer that the developers focus their efforts to make a good pfm/afm/efm and not waste time with a sfm..

In any case Razbam is doing an EFM just like everyone else. All the planes in the game now that use SFMs are getting AFMs or PFMs.

 

ANYWAYS I wonder how far along the new projects are considering they have a manual for one already, I bet they are pretty close.

Maybe but not the same airframe at all. So not the same maneuvrability.

And maybe a variant with a more modern cockpit so not the same cockpit at 100%.

Listen they cant do PAK FA or F-22 they will do what is possible to do for us. :)

I do hope mig-23 or a SAAB viggen or draken.

Yep, it's a high sided bathtub with ugly ergonomics and that horrible "calming" green- easily as busy as the MiG-21 cockpit, but with a lot more useful info on the HUD...

Too many flight simmers miss out on the awesome exact science of the high speed intercept with high speed BVR missile launches at the weapon's best kill chance. Dogfights are for bragging rights and saving your skin when you make the mistake of letting a bandit get inside your BVR missiles. Great pilots kill at range, and pull the most G in the break over the airfield at home when coming in to land. The MiG-25, properly flown is an elusive target for F-14s and F-15s, while kills have been made, history has shown that proper, prior planning prevented either of the West's greatest fighters from killing the MiG-25. The MiG-25 would be great fun in multiplayer, if we can use its altitude and speed.

"good" is too generic, the radar doesn't compare in capability to Western radars, but it does do one thing extremely well. It is very powerful and designed to burn through jamming quickly. So the general jamming rule of thumb does not apply to the MiG-25 radar. Jamming will only slightly reduce its tracking range, it burns through quickly with raw power. What I do not know is if it has an operating time limit like the MiG-21 or if it can operate continuously. Remember an Iraqi MiG-25 evaded multiple AIM-7/AIM-120 shots from F-15s during OSW and then later an AIM-54 shot the same day- mearly by flying a high speed curve that dragged the missile and destroyed its intercept energy. I'd love flying an unarmed MiG-25RB and trying to photo a target while evading multiple interceptors. That would be awesome!

Maybe one of the aeroplanes will be russian for opposition of f-14, early version of mig-25 or mig-23 i think.

Although the russian planes are very ugly and i don't like them at all except mig 21 and 29.Is there any chance for the second one to be f-4 phantom :unsure:

 

Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that we will be getting an F-4. Given the difficulties of other developers attempting the same aircraft. It's been mentioned that there still is much classified about the Phantom. :( While I won't rule it out for the future, maybe something will shake loose! I would dearly love to push Ole' Smokey around the DCS virtual skies!

Are you sure about that? The F-15E carries a lot more fuel and has a lot more drag than the F-15C. It would have to have a lot more powerful engines than the F-15C to do that.

I'm not sure if it was for the radar to be sure, but drums of alcohol would accompany Mig-25 deployments which proved rather popular with the personnel.

 

I'd definitely be keen for Mig-23 or Mig-25 for their own reasons. Very interesting and difficult aircraft to master, I bet.

 

Just one side question, many pictures I see of the Mig-23 cockpit have no obvious radar scope. Others have a TV screen, which I assume are later variant Mig-27 with optics. Are the scopeless cockpits I see really just early Mig-27s, or am I being completely confused? If they are Mig-23 cockpits then what is the radar output to, some sort of HUD indication?

In MiG-23, radar information is projected on to the HUD / gunsight. I don't know if that's all MiG-23 types or a few specific ones though.
