Harpoon Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 .:joystick: My Jane's simulation of choice. If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public. One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.

klem Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Ignoring the two rows of white dots in the ZX81, the bland attempt on the Sinclair Spectrum and a really simple Battle of Britain PC game, I'd have to say Air Warrior, the original on-line air combat game. klem 56 RAF 'Firebirds' ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F mobo, i7 8086A @ 5.0 GHz with Corsair H115i watercooling, Gigabyte 2080Ti GAMING OC 11Gb GPU , 32Gb DDR4 RAM, 500Gb and 256Gb SSD SATA III 6Gb/s + 2TB , Pimax 8k Plus VR, TM Warthog Throttle, TM F18 Grip on Virpil WarBRD base, Windows 10 Home 64bit

StandingCow Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Top gun and Flight of the Intruder on the NES... does that count? On PC it would have been Microsoft flight simulator 95 I think it was? Also some Microsoft Combat Simulator. 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo
lokodehortaleza Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 It was Microprose's F-19 Steath fighter for me. Then F-117, Gunship 2000, F-15 Strike Eagle II, Comanche Maximum Overkill, Harrier Jump Jet, Jane's Fighter Anthology... DID's EF2000 is still my all time favorite, that dynamic campaign in the beautiful Scandinavian terrain...
pauldy Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 My very first would be technically, Jane's USAF.. but then it was a "not so legal" copy and played with it in a less serious manner.. So realistically speaking, Jane's F/A-18 was my very first "Authentic Copy" Sim and PC Game.. ^^ I really liked it.. I just love how Sims back then had so many freebies like 200 page Flight Manuals, various charts, etc, ..all packed inside Breakfast Cereal sized Boxes =D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Griffon26 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 (edited) My first flight Sim was Comanche Gold Griffon26 was actually the Callsign for the chopper you flew ;) That was when I was 6. I really loved this game and it would be nice to have a remake of it with EDGE (let me dream pls) :D Ahh good old times :joystick: Regards Griffon26 Edited October 4, 2015 by Griffon26 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Never parachute into an area you've just bombed You never have too much fuel, unless you burn.

domini99 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 Didn't take long before I got FSX, and I stood there for a few years before I discovered DCS.

Slap_Chop Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Sublogic flight simulator 1 for Apple II Hard to believe how far we have come with the release of DCS 1.5. In hindsight it would have been a better investment to buy apple stock rather than the computer and the program. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both. MiG21bisFishbedL Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I'm positive my first introduction to video games and flying in video games was circa '91-'92. I got to play Sky Jinx on my old man's Atari 2600. My second experience was a little thing called Blue Angels: Formation Flight Simulator he got for the computer. But the first "sim" I really grasped came to me Christmas day, 1992. With my Sega Genesis: Followed by: And the final game I wasted hours of childhood away on? Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
Sryan Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 nobody played this? I had a confirmed kill before my dad had his first :gun_smilie: Check my F-15C guide
Zad Fnark Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Not counting the Space Shuttle game for the Atari 2600, Jet is what I first flew. It was on the computer at my AFROTC det. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_(video_game) I think I owned everything that came out in the 90s. Falcon 3 got a lot of miles out of me. My friend and I played a lot of "Flight of the Intruder" back in the day. One of us flew, the other was working DIANE to do the bombing. Back then, AOA wasn't really modeled well. I could split S from 5,000' right onto a trap on the carrier, which always upset my friend. DCS is probably my favorite. It's got the best "feel" of flight I've ever experienced. ZF- Questions are a burdon, and answers a prison for one's self.
