What do you mean? Belsimtek were the ones that developed the PFM for the F-15C from the beginning. Belsimtek are ex-ED Devs and they have a very close relationship with ED. (from my understanding)

I noticed that too. I'm inclined to think it's a flight model by BST + rest by ED but there isn't any way to know without an official confirmation. On that note, I missed the initial Q&A, was anything said about the F-5E?

so ED just might have revealed another companies product without permission :music_whistling:

Interesting...

I thinks Wags was trying to click as fast as he could so we don´t notice.

All other indications to the F-5E being a real thing were removed this time.

I was expecting him to mention more about it, the cat is out the bag now :) I'm sure it is a way off yet, but it's exciting none the less. If it is a Belsimtek product, well that's fine too, everything thy have done for DCS so far has been to an impressive standard.

I think Sithspawn said Wags was using an older build than last time, perhaps that's the reason why the icons weren't there. I wouldn't read too much into it.

But the Belsimtek F-15C and the Belsimtek F-5E are interesting. It would fit to Belsimtek's strategy of saying nothing until close to release.

EDIT: And I really really hope that Wags doesn't show us stuff accidently. That could mean no more streams. I guess he knows what he shows us. And he knows that we will watch the streams frame for frame and watch for everything that looks interesting, even if it is shown VERY briefly.

I can imagine the howls of derision from some sectors of this forum if Belsimtek announced the F5 before they have done more work on their other modules, so I can't see any kind of announcement from them until, like they did with the MiG-15Bis, it is almost a complete module. SilentGun was in my opinion a little unfair with his "oh no" comment. Would he prefer they didn't release stuff like the MiG-15 and UH-1H? Sure, they have had their issues, but give the guys a break!

Speculation is all very well, but I am sure a lot of the stuff Wags has on his machine is in early development, and seeing goodies there is quite a different thing to an announcement of an impending release.

Right now, I'm more than happy anticipating the currently announced stuff reaching fruition, never mind what may or may not be on the horizon.

Dont get too excited yet... for example, the 109 was in our Tester version for a incredibly long time before testers were released to start checking it over, because its in there doesnt mean its eminent, or that its interrupting any work on existing modules, which is evident by the work on the Mi-8 recently.

Yes, because DCS doesn't have enough trainers already in development.:chair: Seriously, there is no reason to gimp one of the finest light fighters ever built by going with an overweight and underpowered trainer version The E is the obvious model to go with and I'm glad they are. It was the most produced version and saw the most combat in the most places.

Oh it's definitely eminent, whether it's imminent is another question.....

Sorry couldn't resist.

Another great reason for having the F-5E: It is a frontal aspect stealth fighter.

What??! Where did you hear/read that?

I think what he meant is that the F-5E has a very small silhouette from the front, making its RCS from the front very small. So you can lock on later, which could be seen as "poor people's stealth".

Wiki cites a book by Pierre Sprey:

A small visual and radar cross section size and consequent detection difficulty often conferred the F-5 the advantage of surprise

Agreed.....I noticed the same thing. After the first stream when everyone was examining his module manager in detail....he was pretty quick with the mouse.

Considering how people bash and maim Belsimtek now for developing "yet another jet" instead of finishing the Huey/the Mi-8/the AH-1 Cobra/you-name-it, I can understand, why Wags doesn't want to elaborate on current projects yet in development or pretty early stages...

If people could be more relaxed we may get lots more of info on projects and plans. Even if they are "Subject to change". While the typical bit of information is still kicking of wild assumptions and a subsequent shitstorm for either Eagle Dynamics or one of their 3rd parties, we will need to glimpse at video still frames, or read between the lines unfortunately... I really miss the old A-10C beta times.

You're misinterpreting. The RCS cross section isn't stealth, he's talking about VISUAL tracking. The passage you're no doubt referring to about losing lock means that the pilot broke the lock, not that the frontal aspect was so stealthy that the radar system couldn't maintain a lock. What he's saying is that the F-5 pilot broke lock, then turned nose on, and because the frontal aspect is so miniscule, the pilot had a hard time visually reacquiring him.
