However, the weather information in the ME is all at 0...no change. I then get a message: PRESET NOT FOUND. However, the weather information in the ME is all at 0...no change. That is cause the site I'm linking to can't get the metar from the airport, therefore no changes can be applied. Nothing that I can fix, doesn't belong to the code sadly. The only other way would be to find alternates site, where I can try to download the metar string when the first one fail. UN9249 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 (edited) why not to try the vatsim weather site? or made a box. where i can put metar manually? http://metar.vatsim.net/metar.php?id=Uudd (apt id in yhe end) http://metar.vatsim.net/search_metar.php by the way it doesnt load airport metar, if its on russian. for the defolt - weather - kutaisi. it downloads normally, but if i change it to other airport, (i have a menu on russian. ), same apt кутаиси (kutaisi), it doesnt load weather. It would be as complicate than manually inserting the values... But I don't know how to get into the file in that frame of time between the file choice and the loading of it. Do you have someone who could provide help? I can only propose idea - maybe for weather injecting to mission better to use external exe? Then for servers admins need to run this exe, and after weather updates start the game and choose updated mission. I would prefer to make a script which will update the weather at any mission start for a given airport, if a particoular variable is set in the mission (i.e. a trigger for "mission start -> random 100 -> DO SCRIPT[WeatherUpdate = true]). I asked for the possibile help cause right now I prefer to focus on download site reliability, trying to integrate vatsim and/or other sites in the download process, so that if one wouldn't provide a complete metar that it will switch to another one. VATSIM is the "primary", if it doesn't work, then it will try on aviationweather.gov. You really cannot imagine my face when I discovered that there is almost no difference. When aviationweather can't download, vatsim can't also. I investigate the issue and i discovered some few interesting reason about those (icao code comes from an inbuild function of DCS world): maykop (URKH) - seems a free airport, but metar isn't retrievable today (now) gelendzhik (URKG) - same as maykop sukhumi (UGSS) - same as maykop gudauta (UG23) - military airport, seems no metar service senaki (UGKS, real seems GE-0010) - military airport, no metar service mozdok (XRMF, real seems RU-0152) - military airport, no metar service krasnodar center (URKL, URKC) - military airport, no metar service krymsk (URKW, real seems RU-0089) - military airport, no metar service kobuleti (UG5X, real seems GE-0006) - military airport, no metar service soganlung (UG24) - military airport, no metar service vaziani (UG27) - military airport, no metar service novorossysk (URKN) - currently is no more an airport... check google maps. Anyway, if someone could suggest me a metar service who provide metar code for those airport, my actual rev.4 code can provide multiple sites support. Anyway, I don't think that releasing now the rev.4 could provide any benefit, therefore I'll postpone it when a real advantage could be in place.
