When nothing is available for release how about if ED release a patch with nothing in it to keep some people happy about having weekly patches released?

I would not really call the changes and bug fixes for the Gazelle and the M-2000C "nothing".

Or did you only tried to be "funny"?

Old?

Who you calling "old". :P Yes, at 73 not much happens quickly and many of our physical attributes are pretty worn. But what Eagle Dynamics via DCSW has given many of us provides that "escapism" that most simmers are seeking. You know, the suspension of belief we seek when we THINK we are actually flying and fighting military aircraft. Must say, that sitting in front of a computer monitor, cranking and banking with my flight control's,:joystick:, Jet Seat vibrating away is as close as this old guy will ever come to actually doing it.:pilotfly: Flight simming is one of those rare pastimes that any age can participate in and get some great satisfaction from. I look forward to every bit and morsel ED sends our way and am more than happy to wait for their upgrades as I use/enjoy what they have already provided. I may be missing something, but who else is even pursuing this flight sim genre to the degree ED is? Heck, my wife appreciates the time I spend with DCSW as she realizes as I do, that it challenges my gray matter and keeps my brain functioning at a better level than it might otherwise.:smartass: I know this has really gotten off topic in this thread, so if the Mods want to delete this post, have at it. Now, what's the start procedure for that Mustang again?:helpsmilie:

Amen Chief...Well said.

There are many youngsters here in the "got to have it now, entitled generation".

As an ex-InTeL employee, there was one quote they had that I'll never forget.

Hey sorry if this is answered elsewhere but what are the timeframes to release 2.0, so one GUI and multiple maps seamless chosen by either mission or campaign selected?

I'm am bout to get a second large SDD, it's seems thechnology is moving faster than DCS (tongue in cheek) which in this case is a good thing, I'm going to have a standalone DCS SSD.

2.0 has been released already, that's the Nevada map. I guess what you're referring to is 2.5, which will merge the terrains into one version.

Timeframe: 2 weeks .

Agreed,

Keeps my mind active which is very important at the senior level. ps. Some of you younger guys - ahem - under 40'ish, have probably already done combat with some croaky old ba*tard and regretted it. :)

Mustang startup if I recall is: ALT+CTL+DEL.

Cheers,

Nah, sorry, you must have gotten that mixed up with something else.

It's LALT + F4

(P.S.: I belong to the below 40 crowd. For a few months anyway :tomato:)

Yeah meant the merge, so will 2.5 go beta, stable, then 1.5 becomes obsolete? I'm What is TM? Estimate?

Thanks pal

As much as im hyped for the new F-5 tiger ][ and the upcoming merge 2.5 I was wondering if I'm the only one that really would like to know the status on the MiG-29 new external model (NOT the implementation of AFM/PFM) and the new ATC system that was being developed.

The exact update schedule is not known, we'll have to wait and see. It would make sense if we get a 2.5 Beta release first, and then as soon as it's sufficiently stable, there will be an additional 2.5 stable release, at which time 1.5 and 2.0 will become obsolete. But don't quote me on this, it's just what I figure makes the most sense, doesn't mean it's going to be like that. ;)

It's an old joke around the forum. Whenever someone asks "how long is it going to take", the response will simply be "two weeks" or "two weeks ", implying that the answer "two weeks" is ED's trademark (just a joke, of course).

It's a synonym for "I don't know, and there's no official announcement, and no matter how often people ask, the answer will remain 'two weeks' until it's actually released". :music_whistling:

Would really like to see some development on this. It would really add to the game but I suspect its on the back burner untill some of the bigger stuff gets sorted out (e.g. 2.5)

And the new weather system? :) I really hope to see it soon.

DCS World 2.0 in 2016 will offer new clouds and weather effects; improved HDR; deferred lighting (more light sources); new FLIR system; an improved Air Traffic Control (ATC) system; enhanced explosions, over-wing vapor, and rain on canopy; procedural grass and vegetation; improved multiplayer with dedicated server support; a new Air Combat Generator with enhanced user control of air-to-air generated missions; new custom overlays option for the Mission Editor, and a new Virtual Reality (VR) tab in Options which will improve the DCS World experience in VR.
