VincentLaw Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 So I just noticed that AI pilots get out and stand next to their planes after they complete their flight. Is this a new feature with 1.5? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kontiuka Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Must be. Have you seen it with other aircraft besides the F-18?
VincentLaw Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Yes, So far I've tested the F/A-18C, AH-1W, F-15C, Ka-50, and L-39C. The AH-1W is the only one I tried that didn't have pilots. The L-39 even has the two facing each other. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

DrDetroit Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Same with the Huey. I noticed during a UN mission where I drop supplies off the soldiers actually walk up to the Huey and open the doors to get the supplies, then they walk back to their tents. When dropping off the reporter at Senaki, a soldier walks up the the helo and then walks back to their private/commercial jet. Nice touch for sure Good day! DrDetroit

Griffon26 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) The A10c Pilots do the same. I was pretty excited as I saw that the first time. :) Just Imagine there would be a crew around and you could disembark from your plane :D Edited October 10, 2015 by Griffon26 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Never parachute into an area you've just bombed You never have too much fuel, unless you burn.
RoflSeal Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Is there actually an animation of them getting out? I do want to see a video of that.
MegOhm_SD Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Now if we can get them into a life raft when ejecting over water. Then we can Pick them up in a chopper. Fri13 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 When we get more accurate actions for infantry and pilots it will make big difference. Just like already suggested, rafts for pilots that lands on the water. Tank crews ejecting from a IVF/MBT after hit if going to explode. Infantry jumping off from APC when in slow move. Pilots running away from the crashed aircraft after ejection etc. When we get smoother animations exactly like stepping inside a helicopter or climbing to airplanes cockpits, exiting vehicles etc it will be enough in my opinion. As I would like to see a vehicle crews to form a circle around the vehicle and lay down so there would be more reasons to avoid destroyed ground vehicles or use rockets and cannons. Now when the DCS 1.5/2.0 release gets closer, I think ED can start focusing more to the content that use the new features the engine update allows them to have. And when we finally get the good SAR operations possibility by picking up the pilots with helicopters or ground vehicles, the multiplayer will change its form totally. And even the single player mode as it can be seeking concealment, contacting to the SAR with shortwave radio and receive the coordinates where needed to go to be picked up. Nothing as fancy as in ARMA 3 but if something in the level of the OFP it would be very big difference. And pilots would start value their lives far more in the MP games if it is 5-10 minutes waiting to be picked up before getting a new aircraft, even if disconnecting and reconnecting back (it wouldn't move the soldier automatically). That of course being a server configuration enabled by default for extreme realism behavior, as it would force pilots to use more correct tactics and try to save the aircraft than now. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

Weta43 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 You can teleport into a vehicle, but I don't think that's what you mean :-) Cheers.

pepin1234 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Nice. just adding a handgun, radio, hand flare or smoke, map and lets make a rescue mission with Mi-8/Huey. HeadHunter52 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Is it possible to get out of your plane without ejecting? Open canopy and Alt-J. Works on the Mustang. You can move about with the joystick. Forward, backward, and slide side to side. To change direction, use rudder. I recently bailed out very low. My pilot opened chute and survived. Plane crashed a few 100 yards away. I recorded this, and the walk up to the wreckage. Also the dogfight going on over his shoulder.... pretty cool. One day, I may see if I can walk back to base and jump in a new plane. OverStratos Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Well, I don´t know which version of L-39C and VS1-BRI seat is that.:shocking: (in the pilots that dismount from L-39) Seat bottom and parachute is supposed to stay on the seat. At least it was like that the last time I used one. Maybe is one really old version.:noexpression:

Aluminum Donkey Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Stereotypes, they make the world such a happy place. And a funny one too :) hehehe Actually, I always thought a nip of choice spirits or maybe a cigarette would be an appropriate action for the pilot just after he lands on the ground after ejecting from a battle-damaged aircraft. Shoot, I'd need a drink & a smoke after something like that!!!
