It would be nice if they were part of the map or better still a map choice in ME. Hopefully they would be designed so as to have minimum impact on performance.

Sith, you said that there is no timeline on the map, but if memory serves- a newsletter said earlier this fall, not that long ago, that it "...is still on track for release/early access 2016". I can't remember which one, but I am quite certain and have not seen official sources stating otherwise.

Just trying to justify my own cautious optimism:P

They want to get it to us as soon as possible. But there is no specific date of release yet for early access. Get excited when it go up for pre-sale. Till then stay cautiously optimistic, but dont bet the farm on any timeline you might have heard before, those were all guesstimates...

Yes it is i guess if you contributed to the corrext level. I know it is for $40 and up.

Not sure what level it kicked in or was for all.

Edit: ok Pledges of $20 and up.

Not the quote I was looking for, but I found in newsletter 28.8 "We expect to release the updated Caucuses map for DCS World 2.5, the final version of the NTTR map, and the Normandy map this year."

I understand that they have stated the delay of 2.5, but I have not seen a similiar statement for Normandy:)

All just pure speculation off course:D

All I can say is there is no set date as of right now. It all depends on testing and such goes.

I don't know for sure, but logically it would have to be in 2.0 as that has the new mappy, texturey good bits.

When I buy the Normandy map, will 2.0 be included?

DCS 2.0 is in open alpha now, you just need to purchase the terrain ( Nevada ) to use it currently.

when Normandy is released I am assuming it will be the same process, but we will have to wait and see

Im guessing IF and when Normandy is released there would be a separate installer like 2.0 also?

dont know is the short answer.

My guess is it will be the same open alpha we have now just supporting multiple maps

DCS 2.0 is for free. You can download and install it already for free. You just won't be able to fly in DCS 2.0, unless you buy a map for it (only Nevada for now). When Normandy will be released it will probably be just another map for DCS 2.0, exactly like Nevada. You install Nevada (and probably Normandy too when it is released) through the module manager inside DCS 2.0, just like you install aircraft and campaign modules. So the maps are just modules for DCS 2.0.

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
