HiJack Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 New mip maps for fields, villages and towns for more detail and better distance blending. Thanks again Kuky for the tip! Approved for 1.5.4  Do you update first page? Will you release a update that don't break IC? Or is that a longer process?
PicksKing Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Hey starway, just one question from me. While trying different values in some config files, I realized that all field, village and town textures are not affected by the normal map, which shadows hills and mountains. So if a village or a field lies on the shadowed side of a hill, the village or field texture stays bright and is not shadowed. This tends to look strange sometimes. Did you solve this? Starway Posted June 27, 2016 Author Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) Do you update first page? Will you release a update that don't break IC? Or is that a longer process? Editing the distance textures is very time-consuming. There are over 4000 texture files for each season to edit. Many of them needs to be touched by hand. Right now, I have now influence if the mod will pass IC, due to the fact that it is not released by ED. Anyways, I hope I can create a release version soon. Hey starway, just one question from me. Yes, as mentioned in my post before, I retouched all the mip maps of the LandTexturesOther archives so they blend better into distance. This solved the problem that sometimes the fields look a bit too bright at distance. There are still some little things to do, but overall I think it looks very good so far. aceviper Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Hi Starway Try take 10-15% contrast from the tree files and you no longer get trees appearing as stark black dots or stars through the haze. They blend much better at distance. Keep up the great work!!

Rangi Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Hey thanks! Does it mean this is for free? Not for free, it's via donation as per first post. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
Silvern Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Hey thanks! Does it mean this is for free? It's free to download. But you can donate some dollars to Starway for his work if you want.

Yes that is right, but everybody who uses it should donate for the sake of fairness, for Starways hard work and the fact that it is an ongoing project. __________________ Windows 7 Ult 64 Bit | Intel Core i5-3570 | 16GB DDR3-2133 | GTX 770

TheJay15 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 It is difficult to tell if this mod is properly activated without a side by side in my game. It shows up in JGSME but is there any particular location in game that looks different enough to signify that the mod is running properly.

TheJay15 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Yeah but it is easier to see the difference when you have the screen divided between the two. With nothing to compare it to it is a bit difficult. I suppose I could just disable the mod and take a screen shot then reenable and take another for comparison
Corvus Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 (edited) My point was- everything is different and looks better. Take a look at buildings and trees for example. Textures on buildings not only have higher resolution but are redone from scratch. Trees blend in terrain much better and look much more life like. BRAVO_16 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Thank you for your hard work on this mod. It is magnificent ✿*∗˵╰༼✪ᗜ✪༽╯˵∗*✿ Maintain thy airspeed lest the ground rise up and smite thee!
Lao Fei Mao Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 @Starway, In our country, any download from Mediafire was blocked by our govt, and I don't have a paypal account or credit card to do the donation to you. So I'd rather you upload it to Steam and sales it at 10~15$, its very convenient for the download and updates. Would you do that?
Starway Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 (edited) Right now, I cannot release the DLC through other channels due to the fact that it contains more than 2 GB. But hopefully someone can create a torrent after release. Best, SW FYI: Right know, some selected members are testing the brand new version. If everything looks fine, I think I can make a release next week. Best SW Edited June 30, 2016 by Starway System: Intel Core i5 3570K | GTX 980 OC | 16 GB DDR3 1600 | 500 GB SSD
