0xDEADBEEF Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) I have an issue where my frequencies in SR are stuck at 0.000AM in my Mirage even though the radio is on and have the frequency set to 126AM in-game. This is in Blue Flag. I have a similar problem on 1.2.8.1 All Radios are Unknown, regardless airframe. Checked the export.lua, reinstalled, rebooted, checked .net. I feel kinda stuck. :( EDIT: I just rechecked, after uninstall all SRS Files were still in the Scripts folder. I manually removed the lines from export.lua and deleted the other lua files related to srs, did another reinstall and now it works!! Nevertheless Ciribob, I always welcomed the idea of SRS, but now that I've used it a while, I rarely use Teamspeak anymore! Fantastic job, hope we get to sort the problems soon :) Fantastic Job!! thanks! beef Edited October 11, 2016 by 0xDEADBEEF found solution

f4l0 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 We did a small sortie with 3 F5Es yesterday and it worked very good. The important thing was to 'drastically' reduce the boost to negative values. @Ciribob Does anyone use a mic boost level of 700% ? Maybe you could change the gui only shoud -100 to 300 or so? f4l0 Developer of Simshaker for Aviators Feel the brrrrttt: [Official] SimShaker for Aviators Forums thread at ED forums SimShaker for Aviators (simshaker-for-aviators.github.io)

Up until the last update the boost needed to generally be over 100% for the volume to be good for the audio so i'll leave it as is incase that ever changes but will try to make the Preview audio step mandatory before connecting (just once) :) Ciribob, OK second set of tests completed with my self and @Britchot I was using the new API version 1.2.8.1 From earlier the first test was 2 Mig-21 - Key the radio, mic clicks and voice audio. Loud and clear (very satisfying). Second test - 1 Mirage, 1 A-10C - We could see the text on the radio overlay change from green to white but no mic click and no audio. 2 A-10C - Same. Color change on radio overlay on transmit. no audio (click effects or voice audio) Server restarted (DCS and SRS) DCS and SRS on different IP - same result. Color change on radio overlay but no sounds Setup 2 - 2 A-10C on default radio freqs (124.00 251.00 and 30.00) - Same. We could see when the other was keying the mic, but no click effects and no vox. Setup 3 - 2 Mirages on aircraft default radio freqs (129.00 and 259.00). Loud and clear with mic click effects just as with the MiG-21 (again v nice). Our conclusion after this brief ground test (and we know a lot about testing aircraft radios on the ground believe you me) that the issue is localized to the A-10C. Crypto features not tested. Hope these data points help. R/S Trev Sorry away at the moment so can't write a longer reply but in SRS if you ever have an issue with the A10C and no other aircraft. Check the radio volumes. By default, the A10C has all radios set to 0 volume so you won't hear mic clicks or any audio from anyone. Its the only aircraft that does this so its very easy to miss! In general, thanks for the great feedback guys! We thought that was the case as well because the overlay showed the sliders to the extreme left. We looked at the individual dials on the left horizontal panel and they appeared to be turned all the way to the right (full up) and rotated them left/right without the overlay moving (UHF and FM). In hindsight, they could have all been pulled up (muted) in game, I'll have to check this again as soon as I get the chance. Basically when you adjusted it to a good level using preview, it was ear piercing loud for everyone else when transmitting and after adjusting mic boost to a good level (about -70) by feedback from others you couldn't hear yourself in the preview anymore. You need to adjust the volumes on the radios themselves, not the intercom panel.

Edit: Could be that the Speakers TAB was not set in the right way. As part of the switch to the new Audio API the speaker order may have changed so although its saved, it might now have the wrong one saved so just double check that :) BTW the input and output selections are only saved when you hit connect, not when you change them. I'll try to get some recordings and the other peoples values. My mic boost was -61% and speaker boost 105% (can't adjust it to 100%). But I think there's a fundamental problem with the mic boost and speaker boost adjustment as there's many balanced settings (as many as a slider has possible positions) and therefore you are unlikely to have similar (compatible) settings for every client unless you have some systematic way of ensuring it. Basically you need some benchmark that everyone can use to adjust their mic boost to correspond to like indicate a desired level in the VU meter that people should target. pdmarsh Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Can you try the reset overlay button at the bottom of settings and then see if it appears? Can you also try turning the Hide Overlay Taskbar Item on and off with a reset each time. Try also turning off Auto refocus DCS. Using "Reset Overlay" did the trick. Thank you for responding. D4n Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Take Mic boost all the way to the minimum in SRS, it will take the scratchiness out. Adjust the mic boost via windows instead. And this is kinda the pop up message we need the first time the user runs the SRS client... (Many like me did the mistake of increasing mic boost bar instead of output bar!!!) flyco Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 After updating to 1.2.8 from 1.2.6, I am unable to get SRS working. I log on to our server, where I can see that my name is allocated to an aircraft, and there is an entry on the Ckient Log (I monitor the server on a separate laptop). However, unlike everyone else, I am shown as a neutral entry (white dot), and my name does not appear against my logged on symbol on the SRS Client list. I have tried starting SRS and connecting, both before and after starting DCS. The radio overlay appears, the volume and frequencies can be changed, and the transmit lights appear when I use the relevant PTT. However I neither hear, nor am heard, by the other players. I was running with a triple monitor, using Helios on the second monitor and Kneepad on my third (Lilliput) monitor. However I have disabled Helios temporarily, and am using an export.lua, with just the single SRS line in it. Any suggestions?
Esac_mirmidon Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Silly question. Your volume inside cockpit is up? By default it could be 0 like the A-10C. " You must think in russian.." Esac_mirmidon Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 You here yourself in the SR client window using the Preview Audio? Maybe you must change the output-input device for your headphones. VAF [136] Striker Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Hi Ciribob, We tested it last night with the old and new API and it's working OK. It looks like updating .net and setting the volume down to -95% makes it workable. Do you have any plans to readjust the internal values so that the slider is 0% without distortion? flyco Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 (edited) Re my post #947 below, I now believe that my problem lies in a corrupt/mixed installation. Despite removing all immediately obvious traces of the earlier installation, there appears to be some left over. Notably the radio overlay is of what I think is the earlier pattern, that is with the selection/transmit lights on the right of the overlay, rather than on the left. Furthermore, when I re-install 1.2.8.1 (New-Audio) it the initial DCS-SS CLIENT General connect screen has the server address that I had previously inserted, indicating that it is recovering this information from somewhere in my system. Can anyone suggest where this left-over data is likely to be found and how I can do a full clean re-install. I am using Windows 10. A final puzzle is that when I try to install .NET .4.6.2, the system tells me that I have a later version already installed. However, when I scan through the Registry, I can find reference only to .4.6.1xxxx. Is this normal? Edited October 13, 2016 by flyco
