I've come to the conclusion that nothing is ever being released. There's actually a better chance the world ends in nuclear war atm than ED dropping a module.

And yet, ED just recently released the Spitfire. Please avoid such false, hyperbolic statements.

Please stay on topic, discuss information released in the newsletters past and present.

Anybody know what the updates to A10C and F15 red flag campaigns were?

• Fixed bug that caused to AI wingmen not starting up in some missions.

• AI SAMs will not shooting to dead aircraft

• Mission generator. Fixed error that appears with generating mission for some aircraft.

• Antiradiation missiles. Corrected guidance system. Corrected launch zone calculation.

• GBU-12 guidance corrected.

• MQ-9 Reaper. Camo liveries corrected.

• TOW Bradley M2 launch interval decreased to 2 sec

• SAM Avenger too small launch interval in some cases corrected

• SAM Stinger (Igla) launch event now appears in briefing

• Ground unit weapons name in briefing corrected

• Ground unit now continues deploy process after AI switching OFF and ON

• Ground Search Radar becomes inactive (but remains rotates) when get 50% damage.

• Unit.getRadar() function now will return ‘true’ for tracking radars part of SAM complex.

There are probably a few more fixes for the campaigns. These must be some of the fixes/changes I think.

Not sure, but Chizh talk about the submarines can not fire and submerge yet, coming submarine warfare? Not bad see them in the future, more with actually subs can deploy antennas, periscope, etc and proper modelling torpedo tubes.

Sub warfare, or surface vessel vs sub warfare is going to take a long, long time, at best. Just modelling thermal layers, properly, will be a major undertaking. Then there is salinity to account for, as well.

I think initially has not necessarily. we have Kilos 877 and 636 with "proper" anti-ship missiles modelling (3M54E and 3M54E-1).

http://russianships.info/eng/submarines/project_877.htm

Actually can use on anti-ship role, with radar, ESM and AWACS send data.

The Submerged weapons launch, "can" open a new front ask feasible making torpedoes working as anti-ship missiles as placebos meanwhile a "sonar / underwater environment" technology will have planed.

Other detail has meanwhile now Russia has update submarines, not bad if NATO / 3rd country get new submarine 3rd models to "equalise" the sea envirotment.

huh, odd that they specifically say the red flag campaign. Those seem more like generic campaign design fixes.

I'd be content with live and 2.05 getting viggen with fixes, but I'd love to know how 2.5 Caucasus getting on

A 2.5 live stream would be nice, Even a Normandy one, Lots of screens on Normandy, A 1.5.6 stable for server timeouts would be a nice fix.

2.5 2.5 2.5 2.5 2.5 2.5 2.5 :) or maybe Normandy

Has somebody an answer for this:

Will they update the stable right to 2.5 or will there be an alpha or beta before?

I mean the devs release a beta for almost every single update for a very good reason of course and for such a huge update like 2.5, I would expect a beta phase for 2 months or more.

In reality the alpha/beta phase of 2.5 will be much more difficult and longer than anything they ever alpha'd or beta'd because it will unify everything and that will give many many more problems than every other "small" alpha/ beta.

2 months is very optimistic. I would estimate more like 6-12 months at least for alpha/beta of 2.5 phase before going stable.

But of course this all is mumbo-jumbo-guesswork :)

Quote Vedexent: The technical term for an over ambitious ground attack pilot is "dead".

Quote SiThSpAwN: I figure 1.5 will have to buy some roses and chocolates, take 2.0 to a nice restaurant, and if it opens doors and is a gentleman, 1.5 and 2.0 might just get to merge one day.

2.0 already unified everything except Caucasus which will just be a map like NTTR or Normandy, when it has been upgraded to the new engine. So the unification is already done. Hence why the number changed from 1.x to 2.x.

2.5 (which is a smaller step, reflected by the number change behind the dot) "just" adds some new stuff like new graphic effects, which would probably need some public testing, but more than a few weeks or months at most.
