maverick video display is incredibly sharp and detailed! light years ahead of the a-10

That is most likely because what we have seen is WIP.

They will most likely add the filter before release to make it look more proper

(less picture perfect and more like a 1970s Sensor/Display).

Yeah that sounds reasonable. It looks too game-ish right now. Compared with their realistic radar display, I'm sure they will add some color filtering and some graininess or something.

yea they are probably more worried about function to start with

(making sure the VID functions properly and is aligned correctly etc)

and then they will just add the correct filter before launch.

Thank you for sharing, that is an excellent into video and first look. The Viggen is looking gorgeous in that footage!

I really love Bunyap's videos and have been following his Spitfire diaries as well. For those who like WWII and haven't checked it out, it's definitely worth a look and is full of interesting stories.

As jealous as I am of these guys getting promo builds of the Viggen I have to admit seeing this footage really put me at ease with my preorder.

Seeing the flight characteristics with SPAK and the autopilots is exactly what I was hoping for. Although updated, being an older era bird I expected things to be much worse in the control department without FBW.

Also, a Mav finally being deployed makes me all sorts of happy. While I'm still curious about screen skewing, distance and clarity I am very thankful to Bunyap for giving us a taste. Hopefully they'll still be fairly easy to deploy on ground targets as well, adding a new screen filter would certainly complicate this.

Thanks LN she is a beauty - two more weeks!

As one of the lucky and honored few who have gotten a Promotional Build of the Viggen, I encourage you all to feel very at ease with that pre-order- all I can say is WOW

Here's an image of a dummy round you can clearly see the rail and the protective covering for the rocket motor and flare.

The Missile was required to be liquid fueled because that was the only way to get a smoke free rocket engine. This was thought to be needed because of the manual guidance.

You know that's interesting, he says initially that he went below 10% fuel and never got a warning.

p. 69 of the manual, "When the fuel amount goes below 24% and the landing gear is retracted, the warning light BRÄ <24 is lit along with a master caution alarm. The light remains on for the duration of the flight."

Perhaps a matter to double check? :)
