Same here in 2.05. Engage ALT HLD even when straight and level induces ever more violent oscillations. Both other functions are fine.

Well, the last time I checked dcs world 1.5 before this latest update the ALT HOLD worked fine. I think this latest 1.5 update has copied the bug in from dcs world 2.0. I haven't had a chance to update to the latest 1.5 and confirm.

I just loaded the update: 2.0.5.3521.198 (The latest).

Now if I carefully trim up before engaging in ALT mode, AND over 20° bank it holds fine. I tried 10° bank and it was much less pronounced than before, but still there. :glare:

Acchhh! This was my way to gather targets in the TGP. Sadly, no more.

[REPORTED]/[MERGED] Roll Oscillation w/ AP Alt Hold - 1.5.6.3690.269

Weird rolling in Alt Hold at a bank since latest 1.5.6.3690.269

I noticed this when trying to 'circle' whilst banking an area of engagement,

with wind and weapons A10C cannot even hold autopilot, it gets really weird.

Attached a track 0 wind, after a minute you can see the 'wave' rolling like if you're in a sailing vessel at sea.

Bug .. ?

I see from another thread this bug might have been introduced from DCS 2.xx

Please fix, it's horrible

(maybe DCS wanted to improve realism, but this would be a tad over the edge?)

Another confirmation. The ALT HOLD system causes increasing oscillations until the plane departs from control.

Is this a new experiment in negative dynamic stability in the Hog? ;)

Now it's in stable as of 07/04 with lastest update. Engage ALT Hold in a bank or level flight and immediately begins a dutch roll.

4/7/17:

Latest update appears to have improved this issue greatly.

Flight model is much, much less spongy as well.

Is this in Alpha? Because in Stable thats not the case.

Just played 7 April Update DCS 1.5.6.3930, ALT HLD is unstable, it starts divergent rolls. Please fix the problem, it's really hard to set CDU coordinates from 9-line without its help.

Yes have noticed Auto Pilot in Alt Hold the Aircraft starts to oscillate slowly at first then progresses into more violent Yaw left to right. Only since this latest update (Yesterday 8/4/17)

weird because in my

1.5.6.3930.271 april 7 it was 'fixed', but for, indeed, a slight rolling after a minute or so (which DCS put in because it's 'real'? and too much of it in error?)

but nothing compared to the uncontrollable roll of the last update before, and actually now perhaps accurate?

?

EDIT:

oops / with heavy load it's back again (tested previously with no or small load)
