I have the original Falcon 4.0 and man I remember how happy I was when I bought it :D The only thing that really puts me off from flying it again is the really outdated graphics, with things I'm hearing about great 3D cocpit, 6DoF... now I can't wait to get home and try this out!

How is the high fidelity FM, will it let us get past that magical Falcon 4.0 limitation of 24* of AoA? Or is the viper still a pig, even in clean config with 2200lbs of fuel? I know we can't expect something like the su-25t from lomac, but why can't we get the real angle of attack of the F-16, which is 26/28/32 something, certainly not 24 degrees. And what about the uber missiles? Can we use countermeasures now, or does it still have the science-fiction amraam, and aim-9s that can't even be spoofed by a thermonuclear bomb going off in its line of sight?

Guess I'll just have to try it for myself. Man, never knew LP were such a pain in the anal region, jeesh, the morons are shooting themselves in the leg by doing the M$/nazi-routine.

Ok... can you guys tell me what I need to download? Is it OpenFalcon or RedViper? I'm seein' both and full installs vs. patches.. do I need a full install then patch it? Graahh!

I'm fully versed in bittorrent, I just need to know what I need to download.

Also as I gather, won't work with "Falcon 4.0 Allied Force", I need the plain old Falcon 4.0? Is there a website for this mod?

Thanks for any help.

How's the flight model Meyvn?

It should not be too different from FF3+HFFM mod. It is fine, just don't push the limit too much or the plane could do some very funny maneuvers. Anyway, we are not come to FF for its FM, in which very clear, LOFC still hold the lead, it is just a nice fightersim with so many buttons to push:lol:

I used to play F4 back in '98-99-00 I even got to SP3 pack but...

Falcon 4 states the most reallistic FM available in the PC sims community...hmm...

When I tried LOMAC demo I gave up on F4. Of course, complex avionics, dynamic camapign and clickable cockpit was a great thing but I had no feeling of flying with F4. You really can't tell your altitude if you look at the ground and all the objects placed there, this is much better in LO.

LO has this photo reallistic terrain compared to Falcon where some major cities are left out and some AB have totally wrong headings. I'm talking Balkans theatre since I'm from Croatia.

The other thing that bothers me with Falcon is Paper Plane effect. If I place my FPM at 0 deg pitch ladder I'll always stay like that no matter of "smash" changes. This can be a product of adavanced "Flicus" that's featured with F-16 but the song remains the same with winds and turbulence. I haven't felt any of it during my F4 experience.

In LO planes get really jerky during slow flight @ critical smash and during high AoA/G manuevers. Especially with Su-25T AFM. Wind and turbulence is also there to ruin your perfect (carrier) landing. But there's no such thing in F4. Here's the example: You make a right roll to 45 deg, your IAS is 450 kts, you're in a 5G level turn. You can rest assured that you'll maintain current attitude as long as you have enough JP4 to run your engine. You can take a Cigar break and return 15 mins later only too see you're still in level turn 45 deg roll. Things like that are a bit awkward, don't you think?!

But I got suckered again when F4AF was released. I bought it.Tried it.Tried LOMAC again and said: Man, this LOMAC is really something.

So if you guys ever get sick and tired of LO or if you ever doubt it go fly Falcon for half an hour and then get back to LOMAC immidiately. Start flying and you'll never uninstall LO from your HDD again and you'll see what I'm talkin about.

Are there any FreeFalcon, Super Pack mods for F4:AF out there?

Wow, I just tried it out and - please tell me that's NOT the way my 3d pit is supposed to look? I've included one shot of the 2d pit for reference. It looks fine, much better than in stock F4.

It's not F-16 pit :). In red viper you can also fly different aircraft (heh, even MiG-21 with custom 2d & 3d pits), but the avionics stay the same and the functionality is very limited. My advice - fly F-16, it has much better VC.

Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

You're right, I just checked and the reason is that I just did a quick mission because I don't have time to play right now and it puts me in an F-15(E?). I will try again with the F-16 later. The 6DoF works nice though.

Thanks for the hint, I was shocked and thought I did something wrong with the patcher.
