Joker69 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 in theory it’s a good idea and I’de like to have a paper manual.. surely for this wonderfull DCS Module. However it depend on money required and from the time of the release. For example I’ve just bought F/A-18 but we know that at the very first period we will not have A/G Radar. This is not a problem for a PDF manual but it could be for a paper manual. What could happens if I buy a paper manual without A/G Radar and after a period this will be avalible? With a pdf one ED can update the file.. with the paper one how can solve? A ring paper manual? :book: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/139168989452694/about/ ASUS ROG - TM Hotas Warthog - TM Hotas Cougar - TM F-18 Grip - Oculus Rift S - Track IR 5

drPhibes Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 I'm interested if it's done properly (spiral bound) and the price is right. To clarify: I'm only interested in the DCS F18 manual (whenever that may be ready in a state of completion where printing makes sense), not the real one.
ED Team NineLine Posted January 18, 2018 ED Team Posted January 18, 2018 My hard copy is my iPad sorry not me Yeah, I have mine on a tablet now, with changes and such it's just easier to update the manual on a tablet than on a hardcopy, and I work in a print shop and had previously printed some. Freeroamer Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 A ring binder would be possible, However I think it might make the price a bit too much.
mjmorrow Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Oh yeah! What an excellent idea. I like ebooks and all, but I am kind of old school about training manuals. I would like a physical copy to use when I am learning how to simfly the Hornet. Getting together, so we can get a bulk discount, that is a really great suggestion, too! Johnny Dioxin Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 I would struggle to read a manual through the nose gap in my Rift :) Wouldn't need it with the KIF utility telling me all I want to know on my kneeboard, anyway :P Seriously, though - I do all my manual reading on my tablet these days. LcSummers Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Yeap, i would buy one but not the first releases. I would wait for later, updated versions.
GazAce Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 (edited) Sign me up! I would luv a hard copy. I remember the ole Falcon 4.0 glossy blue hard cover manual with binding rings and everything, it was awesome. For me prob cost the price of a small car, what with shipping an all but hey I’m keen. :book:  Edited January 20, 2018 by GazAce GazAce's "Skynet Rig" :: :: 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900K :: Asus ROG Strix Z790-A Mobo :: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 MSI Gaming Slim GPU 24GB :: NZXT Kraken Elite 280 RGB AIO White Cooler :: G Skill Trident Z Royals DDR4 4x16GB = 64GB :: WD Black SN 850X NVMe SSD 2TB M.2 (C Drive) :: Samsung 860 Pro 2TB SATA (D Drive) & a couple of other Drives adding another 1.5 TB :: Corsair Crystal 680X White Case :: Asus XG349C 34" Curve G-Sync 180Hz 3440x1440 Monitor :: MSI 1000 Watt PSU PCIE5 :: Virpil Constellation Alpha-R Stick with VPC WarBRD Base :: Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle :: 3 x CubeSim ext mini screens with TM Cougar MFD Bezels :: Asus ROG Pugio 503 Gaming Mouse & Razer BlackWidow mech kb :: TrackIR 5 Pro & Cap Clip :: Win 11 64 Bit
_e10 Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Yup, me too. Maybe you should have created a vote because its easier to see the result of your question :)
bC3660 Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 I would like the DCS manual when finished or if we can get changes to add to it. I live in the USA so no VAT.
C_W_S Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Keen! Depending on price, but absolutely keen! Top marks for initiative :)

Akula Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 I still have my Falcon 4.0 CD and manual. It came in a three ring binder and was a priceless tool for learning how to fly. As I'd fly I'd read the manual. The F-16 has a full AP system so I would do CAPs and read along the way. LOVED IT!!!!! MrDieing Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Just remember, that its very difficult to keep such thing under control if they communicate via other ways then this forum. Not to mention that the way I understand this he is trying to break even which in my opinion does not define selling. Akula Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I'll take the PDF to Staples and see how much they will charge to print it out and put it in a three ring binder.
